Psychopath is a disorder that can be seemed as a normal social behaviour. A primary psychopath is charming, intelligent, and socially well behavior. However, underneath a psychopath’s personality show a difference compared to others. Psychopaths tend to have a lack of emotion, and responsibility. They do not feel fear or regret of a murder. When they are faced with a critical situation, their brain network seems to be perfectly normal with no activity (Hirstein, 2013). Therefore, it proves that they enjoy a critical situation and wants more. In order for them to have more critical situation, they tend to make that scene, such as murders. Because they do not feel guilty of their actions, it leads to more cases (Hirstein, 2013). Juvenile psychopathy starts from a young age, and moves an to the adulthood. Eleanor’s parents had strict religious views causing more pressure on her birth. Despite the lack of information on Bundy’s father, Cowell conceives him in an unmarried women’s home.
It was said that Ted’s father was never identified to be the man listed on his birth certificate. For the first three years of Ted’s life he lived with his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Eleanor Cowell, in Philadelphia they raised Ted to not look down on women who have children outside of wedlock like common society did in the 40’s. Theodore Robert Cowell, or Ted Bundy, was born on November 24, 1946 in the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers in Vermont to Louise Cowell. Louise moved shortly after his birth to her parent’s home in Philadelphia. It was there she and her parents concocted the idea to make Bundy believe that his mother, Louise, was his sister, and his grandparents his parents to save Louise from the towns criticism against her
The psychopath is commonly known with a personality disorder that is characterized by enduring antisocial behavior. In other words, they are mentally ill and have a tendency to not control their destructive nature. They are aware of their actions and it is usually triggered by the pressures of life. They are arguably the most difficult disorders to spot since psychopaths can appear normal and even charming. Psychopath is defined as a continuous aspect of personality, representing scores on different personality dimensions found throughout the population in varying combinations.
What is a psychopath? According to Denise Mann, a psychopath is someone who anti-social or impulsive behavior, disregards society’s standards, and they do not show signs of fear or guilt. In Poe’s story, “The Tell-Tale Heart” lived with an old man. This old man had an eye that was grayish almost vulture-like. The protagonist hated this eye.

Psychopathy is a personality disorder define by a distinctive cluster of traits and deviant behaviors. These personality traits become diagnosed once they are starting to show inflexibility, maladaptive, and persistence. They also cause significant impairment and subjective distress. Psychopaths show a high amount of antisocial behavior and abusiveness to people such as others, family, and themselves which causes them to commit crimes. Though lacking empathy and show of superficial feelings, they often tend to be anybody. Ted B. most famous quote was “We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere.”
Scientists believe that the makings of a serial killer reacquire three ingredients, genetic make up, brain patterns and childhood abuse or violence in the family, it's shown by serial killers that 18% reported neglect, 26% sexual abuse, 36% physical abuse, 50% psychological abuse, and 68% some mistreatment regardless of type and 32% no reported abuse. Now, Research from Graeme Fairchild, a lecturer in clinical psychology at Southampton University found that adolescents with violent tendencies had a shrunken Amygdala, the part of the brain that controls emotions and mortality , this brain scan showed below is a photo of a normal person's brain and a psychopath's brain, it isn't as lit up as the normal
In actual fact, psychopaths to the public eye look like ordinary people, they wouldn’t seem to have any genetic disorders or anything wrong with them. Psychopath’s greatest trait is being very deceptive; they can be very manipulating and are very good at copying people’s emotions. “As a group they tend to be more charming than most people, they have no warm emotions of their own but will study the rest of us. They are the boss or the co-worker who likes to make people jump just for the pleasure of seeing them jump. They’re the spouse who marries to look socially normal but inside the marriage shows no love after the initial charm wears off”. It makes psychopaths dangerous in a sense that no one knows who or what they really are. There are so many contradictions in testing to see whether someone is psychopathic because it is based on the PCL-R which the psychiatrist could possibly be wrong when assessing
(Gao, 2011). Henry Greenwald sums it up perfectly with this quote, “Usually when we talk about the psychopath we are talking about the unsuccessful psychopath. The reason why we generally do not discuss the successful psychopath is because we would then have to discuss many of the rulers of our world. This paper will delve into the biological explanations of psychopathy and how differences and dysfunctions in certain brain regions can result in the outward manifestation of these psychopathic traits. This paper will further address the non-criminal psychopaths and the criminal psychopaths, provide brain structures and functions that distinguish these subgroups and finally, will address biosocial factors that displace psychopaths towards the path of crime and
November 24, 1946, Theodore Robert Cowell, later known as Ted Bundy, was born in the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers in Burlington, Vermont. Growing up Ted lived with his grandparents, Samuel and Eleanor Cowell, who told Ted that they were his parents and his mother was his sister. His real mother went by Louise, but his father is unknown. But his grandparents lied to Ted to prevent social sigma since having a child out of wedlock was deeply frowned upon. Bundy found his birth certificate himself in 1969 and had a lifelong resentment for his mother lying and not telling him. His grandfather was an insane man and his grandmother was very depressed, so his real mother took him with her to Tacoma, Washington. Louise met a hospital chef, Johnny Culpepper
Psychopathy is characterized as persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, egotistical traits. Psychopaths are found in every country, belong to every race, and the majority are men. As with all personality disorders, emotions are the main focus. Psychopaths are characterized by their lack of empathy, a ‘callous unconcern for the feelings of others.’ They have very shallow emotions, they especially fail to shame, guilt, embarrassment, and fear in situations that would normally trigger those emotions in others. Psychopaths also blame others, they do not admit to their faulty actions, it’s always someone else’s fault. They also lie profusely, they have “what some researchers call a shallow sense of word meaning”; and they also possess overconfidence, a ‘grandiose sense of self-worth.’
