Red-headed Woodpeckers seem to beg for attention.
Who doesn't stop and stare for a moment at the boldly contrasting red and black and white colors?
How many of us have looked twice at its red-black-white-black color pattern seen as a Red-headed Woodpecker sails from tree to tree?
I marvel as Red-heads dropping from gnarled tree branches as if they were some exotic species of flycatchers to snare insects in flight.
Here's to the Red-headed
The plants do not need the oxygen, so it is expelled into the air. Other organisms inhale the oxygen by various methods, and they exhale carbon dioxide for the plant to use to create oxygen. Some oxygen is in the water and is consumed by organisms.
“Did you know that the Ivory Billed woodpecker has a wingspan of 30-31 Inches? In “The Ghost bird” Hannah and Martin both feel hopeful in the search for the Ivory Billed woodpecker and they also feel disbelieving in the sighting of an Ivory Bill. Hannah and martin both feel that the birds still exist and that they also feel that it they do not exist during the course of the story. One similarity that Hannah and Martin share towards the conflict is that how they keep believing that they still exist. One item in common is that Martin starts to believe that the Ivory Bills exist.
The scarlet ibis lands in the "bleeding tree" in the narrator's yard. As the family looks at it, it tumbles from the tree and lands dead at the foot of the tree. A very similar thing will happen to Doodle when the author writes, “On the topmost branch a bird the size of a chicken with scarlet feathers and long legs, was perched precariously.” (9). Just like how Doodle does not fall from a tree, but he is found under a red bush, just as the bird was under a red tree. Doodle is red with blood, just like the ibis was
One of the largest rodents is the Sciuridae family is the Woodchuck (Marmota Monax) or more commonly known as the Groundhog. It is a fairly common animal most heavily found in the north and north eastern parts of the United States and across most of Canada (Encyclopedia of Life, 2015). Most Woodchucks choose to live in a habitat of grasslands or along the edge of a forest. They tend to like a cooler climate, but during the heart of winter they will hibernate in burrows that they dig throughout the year. The Woodchuck is a incredibly interesting animal that creates elaborate burrows for homes and one of the true hibernators.
Can you imagine a world without any animals? Would plants overpopulate? How would we survive? Well, scientists estimate that about 150 to 200 species of plants, animals, birds, and fish become extinct every day. They say that species are disappearing at an alarming rate. Long-eared Owls are becoming even more threatened every day and everyday more habitats are lost. We need to help them gain their populations back again.
Barred owls are large, stocky owls with rounded heads, no ears tuffs, and medium length rounded tails. Barred owls live in large, mature forests near water. Spotted owls are dark-brown, large owls with rounded heads, the wings are broad and rounded, and the tail is short. Spotted owls also live in mature, large forests but, are sensitive to habitat disturbance. Now, Barred owls and Spotted owls are in a intense war for homes.

Burrowing owls are an amazing species of owl that is currently in danger. Historically, the owl
Once there was a small red duck, the duck’s name was Sara. But her name wasn’t always Sara. Her name used to be Red Duck but due to circumstances it changed. I will tell you the story about the duck. One day there was a storm a very bad storm. Then the Red Duck was on a boat that was coming from China.
They would trick his eyes into thinking nothing was there, when in reality the foolbirds were sitting mere inches away from his head. The only way Brian could see them is if they had just flew away or “exploded” and were to far away from him. To show how much the animals tormented Brain, the narrator describes the situation, “Then there were the foolbirds. They exasperated him to the point where they were close to driving him insane. The birds were everywhere, five or six in a flock, and their camouflage was so perfect that it was possible for Brian to sit and rest, leaning against a tree, with one of them standing right in front of him in a willow clump, two feet away-hidden-only to explode into a deafening flight just when Bian least expected it” (Paulsen,130-131). One day when hunting for the foolbirds, he got really frustrated when a foolbird a few inches away exploded when it flew away. When the bird was escaping over the lake, the sun’s rays reflected off of the bird and Brian had an epiphany about hunting them. Instead of looking for the colors and feathers of the bird, he had to look for the pear-ish shape of them. After realizing his mistake, he also understood that when hunting for the birds that he would have to approach their side rather then straight ahead. The next few birds he saw he got close to, but he only caught his first foolbird a couple of sighting
The Black Backed Woodpecker (Picoides Arcticus) is a medium sized woodpecker. Their backs are entirely black with sides that are barred black and white. The female woodpecker is all black while the male is black but, with a yellow cap on top of its head. Their eye color is brown or gray during their hatching years and, start developing to red and brown in their early second year. The Black Backed Woodpecker is 23-25cm and weighs about 2.2-3.1oz. Its wingspan is 43cm and alternates powerful flaps with glades. The age is unknown, but is likely to live 6-8 years. What also makes the Black Backed Woodpecker so unique is that it’s one of the two species that has three toes.
One day the French duck woke up, and got ready for his day. First he ate and took a shower, then he got his ducklings up and ready for the day. After that he decided that he wanted to take a walk in the forest and explore further. He was looking for a fun day of exploring and finding new things.
Baby red squirrels grow inside their mothers' bodies for 35 days, and then the mother gives birth to 1 to 8 young, and 3.97 on average. They weigh 7.08 g at birth and have no hair except for whiskers and some soft hairs on their chins. Their eyes open after 26 to 35 days, and they have all of their fur after 40 days. The young drink milk from their mother for the first 70 days, and then leave the nest to find their own territory. If the mother is not healthy, she might give part of her territory to one of the young. Mothers feed milk to their young for the first 70 days. After 7 weeks, they can go outside the nest, but the leave permanently after day 70. Young red squirrels are full size and have all of their teeth by the time they are 125
