Robert Desmarais is no ordinary caretaker, living as he does in a ghost town 8200 feet above sea level. He is also an historian, story teller, geologist, chemist and licensed blaster. He speaks of the people who inhabited this place as if he’d known them all personally, which due to the eerie nature of this town, he might well have. Robert is in the process of putting together a book on the history of the town. Hopefully it will be available before long, as just the few stories he told us made me want to learn more.
He has many accomplishments in tennis as well. Possibly his best accomplishment, was when he entered a tournament unseeded, but ended up sweeping every person he played, 6-0 and 6-0. The tournament was a well-regarded tournament

Before you attack me, it is not because I don’t think he is capable of making a quality album, but at this point in his career it would have to be an indisputable classic. Can you envision the media attention he would receive if news broke about a solo album from Andre 3000? Outside of Dr. Dre alleged “Detox” album, this is probably the most demanded album in hip-hop history that we’ll never receive. Andre has been vocal about not being inspired for a full length project, and hesitant because of his view on being an older rapper. He says when he was 25, he never wanted to be rapping at the age of 30. Now that he’s in his 40’s, he feels as though he’s too old in the eyes of modern hip-hop fans. Hip-hop is one of the few genres that repeatedly disregard the older artists that came before them.

Many youngsters can have a hard time understanding parents and other people who belong to elder generations and the other way around. This can have something to do with the time we are born in and our mentality along with our way of thinking. This may be the topic in the extract from Andre Agassi’s autobiography “Open” from 2009, where it focuses on the relationships between the generations. But why exactly are the characters from the different generations having such a hard time understanding each other? And why has Andre written this text?
