The current race for the Republican nominee has gained much controversy as well as coverage among Americans. The road to the nomination of the Republican party is going to be, in my opinion, an unpredictable turn of events. Currently, there are three potential Republican nominee’s. Ted Cruz is a United States Senator, John Kasich is the Governor of Ohio, and Donald Trump that is a real estate mogul. Donald Trump remains having a substantial lead in the party’s nomination. By the current trends of polls, money, and endorsements of front-runner Donald Trump, he will win the Republican nomination for the White House on the first ballot and be able to avoid a contested convention in Cleveland in July. Throughout most of the race for the Republican …show more content…
Donald Trump has been endorsed by some prominent political figures. In January, former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin openly gave her support for Trump’s campaign. Another surprising endorsement came from former GOP candidate and New Jersey governor Chris Christie. In late February, Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, openly gave Trump his presidential bid. Sessions endorsement became a major disadvantage to Ted Cruz. The most controversial endorsement came from former GOP candidate and neurosurgeon Ben Carson on March 11th. Out of all his endorsements, the support from Carson is a huge asset to Trump. According to the Public Policy Polling, Ben Carson was voted the most broadly popular Republican before announcing the suspension of his campaign. Carson has played a vital role in Trump’s campaign by vocalizing the need for the GOP leaders to unite behind Trump if elected the nomination. (The Washington Post). According to Politico, the other major endorsements that have influenced the success of Trump includes former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, the President of Liberty University Jerry Falwell, TV personality Willie Robertson, sheriff of Maricopa County Joe Arpaio, California representative Duncan Hunter, The National Border Patrol Council, New York representative Chris Collins, NASCAR CEO Brian France, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, and The New York Observer Editorial Board. The choosing of a party’s nominee determines the future of that party. The current polls, his financial campaign, and endorsements heavily influence the prediction that Trump will take home the nomination. Discounting my opinion on who I would like the GOP nominee to be, I believe Donald Trump will be the nominee for the White House on the first round ballot based on current trends. However, I also believe that if the caucus voters and the Republican primary have not delivered a unified and decisive verdict for a candidate, each nominee will find themselves in the hands of the delegates at the
Texas senator, Ted Cruz, won Iowa’s caucus vote for the Republican’s presidential race. Ted Cruz is in strong opposition in what Obama has done and has rallied voters who agree with him. His campaign promises to defend against terrorism and repeal Obama’s healthcare program. Many other candidates found it difficult to get a caucus vote and have decided to drop out of the presidential race. Former Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee, dropped out of the race. Many of the other governors barely got support according to the recent Iowa
In the 2016 Republican primaries, there is considerable speculation, with presidential candidate Donald Trump's opponents in his own party, that a contested convention might take place. On March 16, 2016, Former Speaker of the House, John Boehner, said that in the case of a brokered convention he would support the current Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, for the nomination, despite the fact that Ryan is not a presidential candidate. Boehner's remarks sparked controversy by highlighting the fact that the Republican Party is not necessarily obliged to select a candidate participating in the primary election process.
The republican party is major political party in the united states. The presidential primaries is going to take place in the united states republican. The republican national began polling email subscribers. Nomination with 32 potential nominees are telling the supporters.
Two of the main political candidates that have made it far enough with a huge votes are Hilary Clinton from the democratic and Donald Trump from the republicans. These two had gained lots of votes comparing any of the candidates that have run so far. Recent result for the New York primaries trump is leading the vote with 60.4 percent from the republicans meanwhile, Clinton won the democrat by 58 percent. Although they seemed to be liked and supported by most part of united states, the real question is that whether or not they are good enough to be the president of United States.
For a long time Americans have been under the impression that Republicans are for the people, but are they really? The Republican presidential candidates have many times been caught fabricating their campaign stories. These candidates are not properly trained for politics. The prior careers of the candidates range from CEO’s to just being flat out billionaires. How can you run a country without the proper training. It is absurd to me that people really are willing to place such a job in the hands of these people. You can not go from only being in charge of thousands of people to millions. You need to be politically trained to actually be able to make strategically good decisions for everyone in a country. The country deserves to fully know the
There are many candidates for the 2016 Presidential election. Two candidates are Ben Carson and Mike Huckabee. They are both republican and both share about the same views on things such as education, healthcare, and the Second Amendment.
This years presidential election might be the closest in US history! Donald Trump is the Republican candidate. He received 13.3 million votes in the primary election. Hillary Clinton is the Democratic candidate. She received 15.6 million votes in the primary election. This presidential election is very close in votes and either way could cause doom for America.
Moreover, they believed Trump’s novelty act as the “outsider” would soon wear out and make GOP voters collectively come to their senses and coalesce behind either Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush, the party’s blue-eyed boys. This cocksure feeling has now given way to one of dread as Trump keeps notching victories in the primary season. A new Rasmussen poll puts Trump 15 points clear of closest rival Ted Cruz. More worryingly, 24% of Trump’s base will “very likely” vote for him if he runs as an independent, effectively torching GOP hopes of preventing a Democratic three-peat in the White House.
I hope there is a brokered convention that pushes Donald Trump out of the lead. The thought of him as president scares me half to death. My hope is that votes from other candidates go to Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio. I find the idea of a brokered convention intriguing because we essentially do not have an accurate idea of the candidates’ standings until the first primary. I believe that Trump as president would result in complete chaos. Therefore, a brokered convention gives me hope that votes can be distributed to boost another candidate to Trump’s level. At this point, I genuinely do not care who rises up among the top Republican contenders as long as Trump is not chosen as the Republican nominee. I’m aware that GOP does not favor Trump. I’m
This, it seems, is the year of the anti-politician as far as the Republican Party is concerned. As election year rapidly approaches some of the top GOP Presidential candidates are non-politicians. The anti-establishment rhetoric is only increasing as the regular Republican voter is fed up with the path of the party, which is leading to lifetime politicians falling further behind in the polls. Two candidates in particular who have never held political office are leading one Monmouth University poll released on September 3, 2015. This poll, which was conducted nationwide, has Donald Trump leading the rest of the GOP candidates with 33% of the vote while Ben Carson is second with 18%. (MLA) Although Trump and Carson agree on some of the lingering
No, the Republicans are not very happy with Donald Trump. Actually, they will do anything as to even map out a strategy to sabotage him. With Donald Trump in the lead, there was tightening grip at the Republicans presidential nominees while Donald Trump was running against Ted Cruz. No matter how the Republican Presidential primary unfolds from here all the party operatives are after him. Since March, Donald Trump has been the only candidate that was on a path to winning the majority of 1,237 delegates. The Republicans are not very pleased with the fact that Trump has got approximately all the delegates. Donald Trump has his Pros and Cons just like any other upcoming runners in the election. Some Pros would be that, Donald Trumps background is well examined, everything that one sees and hears he will do just that; his business experiences involve negotiations with Business leaders and Government around the World. He has a confident and powerful trait that works well in politics. Having these characteristics help because he is great at talking about the topics that arise, and handles them with caution. Because of the powerful and confident trait this is as to how he has been getting many delegates, although the Republicans are not very happy about it. Donald Trump has successfully created thousand of jobs and made millions of dollars. “We’re being killed on trade — absolutely destroyed,” Trump
Compared to The Democrats, who have raised a total of $363.9 million, The Republican Party falls short $169.4 million dollars in fundraising. This does not mean that the Democrats win the online campaigning battle overall. These numbers show that each campaign value donor contributions in different ways. For example, Bernie Sanders favors donations from grassroots organizations, which made up most of his campaign donations. Most of Donald Trump’s campaign donations come out of pocket, which play a huge factor in his campaign. This goes to show that campaigns utilize plays or tactics towards their target audience to raise funds. Also, there are various factors that play into determining which party wins the online campaigning battle. The amount of funds raised within a particular party does not determine the value, effectiveness, or digital presence of said party. The
Unexpectedly, the front-runner in the Republican presidential race is the one guy that no one expected to be a serious candidate. Donald Trump has leaped ahead of the rest of the Republican field, making friends and enemies alike. Since his controversial announcement speech, polling has put him squarely in the two of popular GOP candidates along with presumed leader Jeb Bush. As startling as this is to many, it is even more alarming to those parts of the GOP who are trying to broaden their appeal and reach out to minorities. Already, many political operatives are doing damage control in the wake of Mr. Trump 's path and others are trying to tie his racist statements into the fabric of the Republican party itself.
The best choice for the nominee of the Republican party for 2016 is Dr. Ben Carson. He is a master of communication. He is the only candidate that can make the United States of America united again. He is a regular citizen rather than a politician. He is the perfect example of what it means to live the American Dream. Dr. Carson is a highly intelligent and accomplished physician who is seen as a breath of fresh air in this world that is full of politics. Lastly, because he is the only nominee that can get America back to what the original founding fathers wanted for the United States of America.
It is our favorite time of year again--election time. This election season we have an amazing array of candidates, especially on the GOP side. The candidates are such great quality that some of them have never even held a political office. For example, we have a brain surgeon and a media personality running. How does being great at brain surgery and media make you fit for a presidential candidate? You tell me I am still trying to figure that one out too. However, the candidates with the least political experience are actually doing the best in the polls. One candidate that seems to be untouchable right now is GOP candidate Donald Trump. The most unorthodox, radical candidate you will probably ever meet--besides Hitler of course.
