In Act 1, Scene 1, through lines 150 to 251, Shakespeare explores the theme of love by introducing Romeo, a character with a cliché personality, in the dialogue between Romeo and Benvolio. An example of this is the use of military language by Romeo, when talking about Rosaline, which manages to convey a sense of insecurity and danger about love, and in turn, creates a sort of ridiculous perception of the characters' love for the audience.
