The reason why I why I am interested in specializing in sports medicine and rehabilitation is because Of my personal relationship with sports and injuries. I have always had a passion for sports and therefore played everything. I even did taekwondo for about 4.5 years. However, of course with sports or any physical activity, the risk for injury cannot be eliminated. Injuries is something that I fell victim to numerous times as a result of playing a sport, or engaging in a exercise workout. When these injuries occurred, I never got it looked at. The only time when I went to my doctor was when I got hit in the head from a basketball, in which I was diagnosed with a concussion. I always had the mindset of " it's just some pain and I can play through

My experience also enabled me to understand how an individual’s mentality, anatomy, and body movements can contribute to the overall progress of healing as it requires a lot of patience and motivation. Therefore, pursuing a degree in Kinesiology would be my greatest desire as I want to help individuals heal through methods of physical movements and because I believe it encompasses two of my favourite subjects, science and physical education. Throughout my experience in high school, my interest in health and physical activities has only grown stronger. As an illustration, over the past four years, I have been involved in various sports such as the varsity girl’s soccer team, varsity girl’s flag football team, and badminton

I have chosen to study athletic training because it allows me to still participate and be involved in sports as well as be able to help athletes recover from injuries while gaining valuable clinical experience for physical therapy. Growing up I have always had a love for sports but I have not been graced with the abilities to become a professional athlete. With my love for sports as a youth I watched a lot on television with my father and I would see athletes get injured and medical personnel rush out to their aid. When I found out they were athletic trainers and physical therapists, I knew that is what I wanted to do when I grew up. All throughout high school I was involved in sports and unfortunately had an injury or two. Although our school did not have an athletic trainer, I went to many different specialists and
I never had an actual trainer tell me what is wrong with me and how to properly rest. While studying Athletic Training, it will allow me to help kids that got injured in sports just like I did. However, with my support, they will not have to worry about an injury for their future. I always wanted to pursue an athletic scholarship, but with my injuries, I never got one. If I could help young athletes pursue their goals and help them get there, that would be an amazing accomplishment.
I am interested in the profession of athletic training because this profession would allow me to work with athletes to help them recover so they could continue their passion in sports. During my first year in college I wanted to become physical therapist because I would like to use science to develop exercises to treat injuries. My first time seeing an athletic trainer working was during my tryout with the Chicago Fire Soccer team. Seeing the athletic trainer running around helping players in need by using medical science to evaluate injuries encouraged me to seek a profession in medical field that involves working with athletes. What motivated me the most to pursue athletic training is the importunity to help people in need because that
To name a few careers: Personal Trainer, Private Sports Medicine Clinics, working with professional athletes, Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Physical Therapy; these are only a few and there are many more. The health care system is complicated. There are many health care providers and services out there. Some of them are preventative care or public health; ambulatory or primary care; subacute or long-term care; acute care; auxiliary services; rehabilitative services; end-of-life care; mental health services; emergency management or disaster preparedness; dental services; military and veteran services; and Indian health services. Each of these providers offers its individual service or product, but in the long run, they all benefit each other to help the patient that needs it. The two that are going to be discussed are rehabilitative services and mental health services. I will give a basic description of the provider or service and the products
I grew up most off my life watching basketball and at 18 years old I started working for the Jacksonville Jaguars so I’ve seen some of my favorite players and not so favorite players in basketball and football get injured on television and up close and personal. When I seen Derrick Rose get injured the first time it broke my heart. That is how attached I was to the game and players. I seen how exercise science played a big part in his return to the game. I knew at that very moment that I wanted to be someone who could help athletes get back to their full capabilities through Physical Therapy. I could have majored in another aspect of health to become a Physical Therapist but I know that exercise science impacts athletes a lot and my love of sports and athletes impact
Athletics, injuries, and recoveries are all things that I have been around my entire life. I know what it is like to be at the top of the world winning championships and the bottom due to injury. I also know the competitive edge athletes have when they love their sport. An injury to an athlete can be emotionally devastating, and I want to be the person who helps them get back on their feet and back to the game they love. There are many factors that have played into my desire to become an athletic trainer.

My mother taught me that a key factor to being successful is having the right tools for the job. I learned what that meant to me in my early years at Southern Illinois University. I decided to pursue Kinesiology as my major because I am very much interested in helping people of all ages reach their fitness goals, give them knowledge on how to live a healthy life and to help them understand that healthy eating and exercise needs to be a part of their lifestyle. Since I was six years old I have always played sports. I was forced into playing as a kid due to the fact that my parents and some of my cousins are former athletes. I began to develop a passion for sports that has continued to this day. Life was difficult when I was younger. I was overweight and there was an unfortunate reaction of the other students who made a mockery of my weight. Nevertheless, I was still surprisingly athletic. I would spend nights upset due to the fact that I was bigger than all of my friends and would constantly ask my dad how to lose weight and get muscles. Granted, I was around 10 years old at the time so there are not many exercises that you can do at this age besides push-ups, sit-ups and running laps around the track.
