Regulation of Cell Phones A cell phone according to the dictionary.com “a portable telephone that uses wireless technology to send and receive a phone signal. The cell phone covers an unlimited geographical area that is constantly being upgraded every year. A cell phone has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. Cellphones should receive stronger regulations to prevent texting while driving. They have been known to cause cancer and they may interfere with the functioning of aircraft. Firstly, while operating a motor vehicle, cell phones should receive stronger regulation in order to prevent drivers from texting while operating a motor vehicle. According to statistics in the year 2013, a total of 3,154 people were killed in motor while crashes involving distracted drivers using cell phones. This represents a 6.7 percent decrease in the number of fatalities recorded in 2012. However, unfortunately, approximately 424,000 people were injured, which is an increase from the 421,000 people who were injured in 2012. Most people lost their families due to car accidents. I was also guilty of the same negative behavior, texting while driving. Recently, I was driving to a friend’s house using my navigation. I never knew there was a car in front of me and I accidentally hit the car. This was all due to me texting on my cell phone.
