Refugees are individuals that are being forced to flee from their country of citizenship to another in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. Western society tends to be judgmental towards people who do not look like their own and so it is very difficult for different cultures to be treated fairly. Recently, President Trump implemented a law that band Muslims, due to the stereotypically classifying them as terrorists. Muslims are being classified as others and treated very poorly due to their religious beliefs and instead, that should not be the case. In the media, Muslims are also portrayed poorly and they are seen as individuals coming to America to take over the country, when in fact they are just regular individuals seeking
Imagine that you are in an airport trying to flee your country because there is a war going on, all of a sudden you get stopped by a security officer saying that the country you are trying to go to does not allow refugees, What would you do? The debate about refugees has been around since World War Two when Hitler was trying to torture or kill all the jews and other people he did not like. Here in America we did not let refugees into the U.S. during the war and a bunch of them were killed, however some did survive. Some people think that we should let them into the United States of America well, others say they should not be allowed to enter the U.S. In the year of 2016 there was around thirty-eight thousand refugees that were allowed into the United States. There were a bunch of other refugees that applied to come to the united states but got denied, because the U.S. did not choose them or they did not pass the test to become a refugee. The idea that refugees should not be allowed into the united states because they could bring disease, they could be a criminal or a terrorist, and they use up our land and resources deserves some merit. However These arguments do not realise that if we bring them into the United States we could save their lives, or give them better living conditions. In this article I will argue that we should allow refugees into the United States, but only under certain circumstances. Those circumstances are they should be allowed into the united
Should america let refugees in the us. I think that refugees should not be allowed in the usa and they should be kicked out of the us because nearly 44% of america are non english speakers that used to be18% so non english speakers are slowly over powering us americans and they will soon kick us out of our country we should kick them out and keep them out for america's sake.
Much like many white people in the South believed black protestors had no right to infiltrate their cities in the 1960s, a large number of Americans are against the idea of letting refugees or anyone that follows a strongly stereotyped religion into their country. However, like King says, “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” (78). Over the course of history, the United States have established themselves as a major power with the intentions of helping others. Whether the tactics for this have actually been successful in the past is a different discussion, but if the motives are pure, then this country has a moral and ethical obligation to help those in need. In this case, that would mean allowing these refugees into the country and not continuing to stigmatize an entire group of people any further. This country turned away refugees during World War II, and a portion of them were killed in the Holocaust. The exact same thing could potentially happen if these refugees and muslims are banned from traveling into the United States.
In the beginning, there were perhaps as many as 4,000 Kickapoo. However, by 1660 almost all the Algonquin peoples were living as refugees in mixed villages in Wisconsin. Intermarriage and mixed populations made exact calculations impossible. A federal Indian agent during 1825 believed there were 2,200 Kickapoo, but he acknowledged that only 600 of them were actually on the Missouri reserve. 200 were still in Illinois, and at least 1,400 more were dispersed between Missouri and Mexico. In 1852 there were 600 living in Kansas, but 300 then departed for Mexico soon afterwards, followed in 1862 by 100 more. The approximately 800 Kickapoo who returned from Mexico, starting in 1873, were sent to live in Oklahoma. Oklahoma and Mexican Kickapoo have
What would you do if one day you walk outside and you see ashes on everything just like what happened on 911. Obama is trying to allow 100,000 syrian to come to America to seek refuge. Obama thinks it is the moral thing to do, but he could possibly be allowing a threat to come to America, also what has syrian people done for us why must we help them. As a matter of fact a lot of people have been speculating about letting refugees seek refuge in America, but I believe that we should not allow refugees to come to America
An immigrant is someone who has moved from somewhere to permanently live somewhere else. In this case Immigrants have moved to America where they will live and experience life. Immigrants migrate towards places in which they will benefit, they are looking for a new life therefor they must enjoy where they are moving to. There are some rules when it comes to Immigration though, for instance if two people move to America as immigrants and have children here the children will not be considered immigrants, they will be citizens of America. Immigrants back then are not like immigrants today, oh how times have changed. The number of immigrants who migrated to America increases every couple of years. Throughout this essay I will explain what life

Every year many immigrants from all over the world try to come to America, and we all know they want to have a better life in a country with safety and strong economic. In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s many immigrants came to the United States for a better way of life. I chose this particular question because I am first generation American.
Every year, thousands of immigrants, both legal or illegal, come to the U.S. in hope for a chance at a better life. People sacrifice so much for their families and for themselves, to live out the american dream. For immigrants, the American dream is an idea to live life that does not involve war, poverty, or any forms of a corrupt government. Which is why many come to the U.S. to find and receive those freedoms and benefits that all americans have. Sadly, america is not so kind to those foreigners.
Isn’t it troubling that over 42.1 million immigrants settled in America in 2015? Immigration in America is a concerning issue today. Immigrants coming to America did not just occur overnight, they began to arrive a very long time ago. Although immigrants have been in America for a very long time, the number of immigrants coming to the US have increased over time. Immigration became a problem in the United States because of all the illegal immigrants arriving in America, and the overabundance of immigrants in America causing job competition. Overtime, it changed by the different groups of immigrants coming to America such as the large number of Mexican immigrants, whom many are controversial.
Freedom, American dream, diversity, happiness, free land, freedom of religion is all the words associated with what we call America. What we describe America as, is the reason people rush towards this free country, yet still face problems when they get here. Immigrants that rush to the United States each year are in hopes of starting there fresh life in the soil of this free land, yet they are still stricken with difficulties that they had never dreamed of. Many third world countries often become places of distress and discomfort leaving their citizen no choice but to flee to a better place for a living. Many immigrants that come to the US endure hardships in their homeland countries such as poverty, war, persecution, and rape that they
Since 2011, Syrian Refugees became a popular topic all over the world, however with recent events this has become an issue that is only growing larger and larger. This cartoon discusses the issue that Syrian refugees have caused in europe and in America. The authors claim is that the opinion that the Republican party, mainly GOP candidate for president, Donald trump, has on this issue is ignorant. The way that the cartoon is set up, it allows the author’s conclusion get through his audience and have the claim clearly stated.
The Refugee Crisis is conflict that has to do with people from Syria ,Iraq , and Afghanistan migrating to better countries such as , Sweden, Germany, Italy, and Hungary to avoid the corruption of the poor country. This situation has many positives as well as negatives to both the migrants and the countries they now live in.
Refugees in the United States go through the struggles of not being able to communicate in an effective way because of the language barrier. This barrier makes it harder on them to be able to get a job, attend school and success academically. This also gives them the feeling of being the “others,” as well as a loss of their dignity and culture. Although, refugees go through steps to be able to find a place, where they can call home, but their struggles is what holding them from having a good life and an easy life. Consequently, refugees have valuable characteristics, such as: education, language, job, religion, health and owing a home. As a foreigner, their struggle is exasperated since many of their valuable characteristics are now liabilities in a different land compounded with new and daunting cultural differences.
