This week in sub-acute, we were educating patient actors on how to use their BiPAP machine. My partner and I worked well together in the simulation. I explained how the BIPAP machine work to the patient and my partner explained the mask fitting and maintenance of the machine. The whole simulation went smooth, and the patient actor seemed relaxed and retaining the information. This was later confirmed, when the patient actor reviewed us. In the review, he commented how he felt very comfortable with us and we were very professional. Overall I would give myself a self-assessment score for sub-acute simulations 4.
Demonstrate competance in my skills and write a reflection on an event to assess my critical thinking, analyse and assess my working ability in a culturally appropriate way. 3. 4. I can’t say that in reflection, that I performed well with each learning objective. Opportunities: Fortunately, my request for placement in an emergency department for my stage five practicum was approved.

Nugent, W., Sieppert, J., & Hudson, W. (2001). Practice Evaluation for the 21st Century. Belmont, CA: Wadsworth.
The graded unit is a mandatory project that will allow me to demonstrate the skills and knowledge I have gained during my HNC studies. In order, to achieve my HNC Care Administration Practice it is essential that I successfully complete and pass the graded unit. The graded unit consists of three stages: planning, development and evaluation of an activity I will be undertaken with a patient that I have been building a therapeutic relationship with within my current placement. My timescale for completion of this activity will be: planning by 20th of March, development by 24th of April and evaluation by 15th of May 2017.
Since Balint’s (1957) seminal work, practitioners and researchers have sought to define new models for patient-practitioner interactions that go beyond the often limiting biomedical model. Various parties have challenged this model, and Patient Centred Interviewing (PCI) has subsequently emerged to incorporate behavioural, psychological, and social aspects in addition to the existing biomedical framework (Engel, 1977). This essay will critically analyse (PCI) focussing on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to perform it. It will then reflect on ……….. which are key aspects of my simulated Problem Focused Assessment (PFA) using Rolfe’s (2001) model, which was created from Borton’s (1970) developmental framework. The model consists of three questions; “What?”, “So What?”, and “Now What?” (Table 1). Using this simple model, which is easily adapted to suit most situations, as a framework to explore aspects of my PFA, will enable me to garner new understandings and appreciations (Boud et al, 1985). Concluding with a synthesised discussion of key lessons learned, I will factor in an action plan to aid and monitor my clinical development.
When planning assessments you will need to take a holistic approach, you will need to make sure assessment is specific to a qualification, it needs to be clear and relevant to the topic being taught. The assessment also needs to be measurable, you will need to be able to give a pass/fail or grade on any assessment given and show any areas not covered during the training. Assessment and to be achievable, the level of difficulty needs to match the candidates being assessed as well as the importance of the qualification, four example children would possibly need easier assessments, but assessments concerning life-saving need to have a relative difficulties so the assessor knows that the learner could react in a real life situation. Realistic assessment, this is important when it comes to transferring skills learnt in the classroom to a real life situation, they need to be as real as possible where they can, Four example manikins used in CPR with given scenarios from real life case studies. And finally assessments need to be time bound, assessment dates and times are agreed, this is to incorporate preparation time (Not too much – not too little).

Sylvia, I agree that it would be interesting to have the employees from work taking the self assessment along with you. This is a great tool to utilize gathering facts about how an individual learns and knowing how to train is so vital. As we have found each individual can be different in the way that they learn. The group of individuals that I work with are always open to new ideas and always interested in learning more. So I would really enjoy sharing this information with them.
The Guidelines and Ethical Considerations for Assessment Center Operations were developed by assessment center specialists and serve as a guideline for establishing and using assessment center. Although these guidelines are constantly updated, they continue to emphasize the importance of using job-related simulations in because they show how individuals behave in job-related situations. In fact, the guidelines assert that at least one of the assessment center testing
My paper has been accepted. To attend the Building Simulation 2017, I need to apply conference grants from our government (because traveling to US and the conference are expensive). I have to submit the required documents for the application at least 2 months before the conference date. One of the requirement is an acceptance (invitation) letter confirming that my paper will be presented orally. However, I have to wait for several weeks to know whether I will presented orally. This situation is very difficult for us, especially because the early birth registration will last in the beginning of June. Could you help me by informing me earlier about my paper status? Othewise, I cannot attend the conference.
The rating I would give my team would be 6. The level of success was due to the team having a lack of collaborating and it was a very long drawn out process to get the “ball rolling” and move forward with the assessment. Towards the end of the deadline we did slowly start to take control of the assessment and move forward
Ok I am going to lay the paper out as follows, I will give the type of assessment first, and then how it is scored, then its limitations and then reliability.
Capital punishment or the death penalty is punishment by death of a person who has been legally tried in a court of law for a capital crime. The morality and constitutionality of the death penalty has recently come up for debate again after the European pharmaceutical companies, who produce Pentobarbital, one of the drugs most commonly used to execute the death penalty sentence via lethal injection, stopped exporting and allowing the sale of the drugs to the United States. (Steiden, 2014) (Levitt & Feyerick, 2013) Since then multiple lawsuits have been filed by incarcerated individuals and opponents of the death penalty after several states began looking into new drug combinations or having variations of the banned drugs created by compounding pharmacies locally. (Levitt & Feyerick, 2013) Two such lawsuits were filed by Clayton Lockett and Charles Warner, who were both found guilty of capital crimes and sentenced to death in Oklahoma. Both Lockett and Warner argued for a stay on their execution dates until the controversies over the new drug protocols adopted by the state of Oklahoma were cleared up. (Eckholm, 2014) Other lawsuits filed have argued that using untested drug protocols in lethal injections should be considered “cruel and unusual punishment.” (Levitt & Feyerick, 2013) The debate really heated up after Clayton Lockett’s appeal for a stay was denied and he appeared to have suffered for an extended amount of time during his execution. (Steiden, 2014)
Beowulf is an old tale told by many authors and it was edited throughout time. There are many similarities and differences in the film, Beowulf, and the original poem. I, honestly, really enjoyed watching the movie compared to reading the story because it is packed with very exciting scenes that are filled with all out action.
