My paintings are a reflection of my personal experiences and my imagination. My aim to paint is not just to master the technique but to feel and connect with the subject.
By balancing the art of memory and personal experience, I create works that narrate a story. I believe my works are just like novels. Each painting is a different chapter from my life. These visual compositions may not be the exact representation of the particular event but they do symbolize the incident. I create with daily, recognizable elements, a situation in which the viewer is also a part of the work and he is confronted with the conditioning of his own perception and has to reconsider his biased position.

Frida Kahlo said “I paint self portraits because I’m so often alone, because I am the person I know best.” And I couldn’t agree more. Apart from this reason also I don’t know I think we can never know a person fully. No matter how well

I’m too shy to talk to them about it in person however im not shy in front of my canvas. Hence I want them to spend a moment in front of the canvas and realize what im trying to say. Living in this world where time is money, if I am able to make the viewer stop for a minute, I think I’ve earned an achievement. Many people do come to me asking me to explain me work because the mystery in the work is upsetting them. The image will inspire you or haunt you. So if I’m able to make the viewer leave with an experience, I think I’m happy.

I work in oil. I feel most comfortable using oil paint. I admire the softness in the paintings of the old masters. For example, Monalisa. I feel oil paints help me reach that kind of softness.

Growing up I never considered myself as artistic. This was a struggle for me considering my brain was full of whimsical scenes, but the only outlet I saw did not suit me. A couple months ago, my friend urged me to paint with her. Despite my hesitancy, I am so glad I tried. Although I'm not a skilled artist, spilling my ideas out on a canvas has been a great stress reliever and has helped me express my inner thoughts that
Most artists express themselves through their work: their choices of creative projects, their development of projects, and the individual inner artist as an underlying basis for their work. All artists create with pure devotion to esthetically pleasing an audience, a client, a customer or ultimately aesthetic pleasure for a viewer or listener.
When I was younger, I started with making collages, and as I grew older and developed a better eye for shape and detail I started drawing with graphite, colored pencil, illustration markers, and pastel. About three years ago, I became really interested in painting, which is the main medium I use. I use art as a way to express myself and illustrate my best memories the way that I see them. Using specific color schemes and symbols to represent my best memories helps bring me right back to that place when I look back at piece that I’ve finished. Art is my way of remembering the best moments in my
When people create art, it does not only have to be drawing or painting, it can be acting, dancing, music, or writing. When artists create art they have a purpose for example, it can reflect on their surroundings or what they are feeling. Some key components that artists need to achieve great art is having knowledge and empathy.
The series branches off from me exploring my pain, to recovery, to now exploring art itself. My strokes, color themes, and techniques all have different variations to them, but they all focus on one main subject: myself. I specifically incorporated myself into the series because I believe there is nothing I understand better than myself. There are concepts I came up with about the world around me, and I want to channel them to others in unique ways. I started my series off realistically, and then began to deconstruct their forms because it allowed me more space to incorporate my ideas. My aim in my art is to capture the attention of my viewers first. That way, I can extract an appreciation of my execution from the audience and then compel them to explore what I am trying to convey. Some are dark, some are pleasant, some are humorous, and some are idiosyncratic, and they all are beginnings to something more

The pencil liberates my stresses and sorrows. Bare and unimpeded, my mind is able to isolate itself from anything that was happening in my life. At my art table, which is merely an escape from reality, my curiosity is able to wander. Within this room, five blank canvas's look in on me as I become a mold of my imagination. A step inside my world develops into a sea of color and exploration. The vibrancy of the walls resonates throughout. Over the years, my room has served as my oasis. It’s my escape from monotonous and mundane routines. It’s my exploration of another side of me. I observe such works of art almost as much as I create. Taking notice of my classmates’ innovations and inspired by their creativity, my paintbrush begins to alleviate stress. I strive to produce pieces others will appreciate, but often find myself to be the true admirer. My pride, in this world, is driven simply by my own curiosity to express myself. I credit this side of me as the “passion” that supplements my insane drive for success. This passion has sparked critical thinking in me as well as how I see failure. Life is a blank canvas and you can truly draw whatever you want, and if you fail, you start over and don’t make that same mistake again! Hard work takes ideas quite far, but true success is derived from ingenuity and the generation of
“For many years I taught art to reluctant students who never appreciated the detail required to communicate meaning behind the subject. You, however, seem able to do this.”
A person’s state of mind and their emotions can be expressed in numerous ways without a word ever being spoken. In writing, a poet may share their heartbreak through verse, while a musician will spread their joy and happiness through melody. A photographer may express a moment of beauty and awe through a vibrant image, while an artist can use paint to silently convey turmoil using dark colors or shadow. Taking a more in depth look into the visual arts, it is evident that artists will often use their artwork, such as paintings, to convey an autobiographical account of different, but poignant periods in their lives. Some will paint their bare souls on to the canvas, leaving little to contemplated. Others make their loneliness and sadness subtle,
While art is only a hobby to some, it can be a source of happiness and closure to others. Art, literature, and music have helped numerous people through challenging times, being an outlet in which one can let their emotions out. This being said, struggles such as addiction and depression can have an affect on an artists work. Many artists would not have the same quality of work they have today if they did not channel their emotions through art as a outlet. Sharing experiences through art is one of the most timeless ways to tell a story, dating way back to some of the first pieces literature and music created. Art is one of the biggest outlets in which one can let their emotions out in a healthy and effective way, sharing one’s story, getting their feelings figured out, while impacting the quality of work that is created.
Whether that be an emotion or an idea I want to try and create something that brings the viewer to a place of further understanding. I have done this in the past through photography because I find it can be more relatable when I use real life to convey a concept. On my way to achieving a degree in media arts I am attending Emily Carr university. This has helped me further both my technical and conceptual skills.
Art is used as a way to express oneself and share stories or emotions with others. Every person goes through a swing of emotions and events throughout their life. Everyone chooses a different way to deal with these event and emotions. Some may not feel comfortable expressing themselves and keep to themselves, while others may be very outspoken. For artist they portray this emotion in their works. Among artists they also each have their own way of expressing themselves. Each artist has their own preference and paint in different styles.
As a young child, I often transformed my grandma's dwelling into my own personal canvas. Fueled by morning cartoons, I would concoct detailed illustrations of the oddities in my imagination and intricate pictures of my family and surrounding. It was evident I had been blessed. I was never discouraged from my routine doodling either, just encouraged to channel that creativity on to anything but our walls. When I started public schooling some years later I was introduced to the scope of what art really was. Painting, drawing, photography-It was a world unknown to me then. The way we experimented with every medium early on was perfect for my inquisitive nature. For years I invested in what I now consider to be my craft, with the guidance of numerous

As soon as I walked into the Norton Simon Museum of Art, I was lost. The last time I had been there was several years ago, and even then, I hadn't really paid enough attention to the art. I took a quick glance through the large double doors leading to the sculpture garden, then went to get my ticket. I sat down with a map for a short while, putting my thoughts together and figuring out which way I would have to go, in order to find the time periods and art styles that I was looking for. I walked in with a mindset that this trip would be quick, but I was proven wrong. I walked back and forth between the rooms exhibiting 17th and 18th century art, but I couldn't seem to choose the correct piece. Finally, I noticed a painting to my right that just flew off the page in my perspective. As soon as I saw the royal blue tints, I knew that I had to study this painting, since blue is my favorite color, and also because this painting was gorgeous.
