Since I have started this class from the first lecture, it has been a very enjoyable time with this class and meet and make new connections. I also have had the opportunity to learn and reflex on myself through using the material that has been given in the course. This course not only taught me how to be a successful leader or how to engage with activities but it also taught me how to analyze myself as well. The best was to know yourself is to analyze your strength and weakness and also the barrier or obstacle that I found in order to develop myself. The summary and the evaluation of myself in relation to the activities I have participated in the class were 5 activities but the activity I have chosen to evaluate myself is based on …show more content…
The assumption that I made was this activities was going to be easy and I could help the team out and get engage with this activity be socializing talking to others but on in opposite side the outcome were I was just trying to think of the way to get engage with the team but I couldn’t as I mention up the top as I did not have knowledge about this. I felt like I was being left out as I couldn’t help out the team, as I was lacking of knowledge in that particular topic it made me unconfident to give ideas to others therefore I wasn’t feeling engaged and not being useful to the team. There are many reasons why it made me unconfident to give out ideas and felt left out such as there are many people in the room that has more experience and knowledge than me so I thought that if I throw out ideas to them they would turn me down and that would of make me felt worst at that time. The result that I have received is a good result as we figured it out how to make and electric current to point out the directions of the exit. I was being patience and listen to others who have more knowledge than me and I also take this knowledge to improve myself and learning from others. Constructivism or in other word is discovery theory, constructivism is a branch which stems of cognitive theory that the learning will occur when a person actively processing the information to find the solution for the
“One may say that pilgrimages are just as much about the journey as they are about the destination.” (Higl) Pilgrimages are very important to religions around the world. They are important for people when they are working on a deeper faith, and these pilgrimages are to places of great importance. It is important to note that people do not only learn when they are at their destination, but also on the trip to those destinations. “The Canterbury Tales”, Chaucer’s unfinished work, was a group of stories about a group on pilgrimage, but the stories did not take place at the destination. These were stories told on the way to Canterbury. They were also very satiric stories. They showed great hypocrisy, and immorality. The stories seemed to have
Hays (2008) discussed privilege and biases based on culture and how these privileges and biases can affect a therapist’s work. Having a healthy understanding of self-identity can help understand the role of privilege and biases. In order to help self-reflect, Hays (2008) presented the ADDRESSING model which includes age, disability (born with), disability (acquired), religion, ethnicity/race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, indigenous status, nationality, and gender. This ADDRESSING model will be applied in this paper.
As an American democracy we operate within a republic, in which we elect representatives on each state to vote for us. We do this by using the electoral system that Madison envisioned in the document Federalist 10. In this document, Madison warns us on the dangers of factions.
In my opinion I think that the Romans did what was right for the common good in all the 5 aspects. Those aspects were providing a public service, preparing for the common defense, promoting rule of law, and protecting rights. Purpose of Government: provide public service Grade: A- Explanation of how it meet the common good: The the Roman Empire provided multiple public services for example the Roman Empire had created reservoirs or redirected mountain streams into aqueducts. Then the water eventually makes it to public bath houses, fountains, and a few wealthy homes throughout the city.
When I started the course I was excited to learn different qualities as like leader the assumptions was there will be having some exercises to buid some leadership qualities which I did not have. I assumed that I will learn how we can motivate others and some special capability how we can develop in myself like great leaders and as I assumed I get same thing that great leaders are not born with leadership skills ,they develop that skills .
The strong leader recognizes that an important part of information management is reflection. This self-assessment should include personal biases, desires, and preferences. Looking past personal perspectives and reviewing the data within the context out of which it arises deepens the objectivity and clarity with which the leader can observe and assess the data. Critical components that should be carefully accommodated in this reflective self-assessment are: personal biases, current mental models, individual needs, past practices, self-fulfilling expectations, wish listing and prescriptive deliberation. As for my personal biases, I have learned over the years that they are very good yardsticks for me to look at an issue and to know clearly how I feel about it, but I have always known what I think and what I feel are often different than my colleagues and my patients. I use this to keep my mind open to others whose views are different than mine and I use them to approach and analyze situations, but never to influence the decisions or behavior of others. A specific example is that of a woman’s right to choose: I am anti-abortion for myself as a woman but I support safe health care for all women. Current mental models vary from facility to facility and evolve over time. My career has spanned 34 years and I too have evolved during this time. Today, I feel I am working in much more of a collegial culture and one which is at least attempting to embrace diversity
The areas of productiveness in this session for me included the paraphrasing and minimal encouragers. Throughout this session I felt that my paraphrasing was clear and concise. It allowed the client to think about what he had said, while being able to provide me with feedback and allowed for the conversation to flow naturally.
This reflection will discuss personal diffidence and how it has influenced my academic studies, including my practice within placement settings. Gibbs reflective cycle (Gibbs, 1998) has been utilised as it illustrates a clear structure for the process of reflection. To conclude this reflection will draw together the themes which have emerged and highlight a clear action for future learning that will be used in order to enhance my future practice.
Daily Burn is essentially the Netflix or Hulu of workouts. I have been trying it out and this is what I think about the service.
As a teacher it is important to know who you are as a learner because it allows for you to help improve your educational experience and to help increase your knowledge. It also allows for you to open your mind to remembering that every person and every student in unique and how they learn will be completely different from one another. This means that in one class you could have thirty unique learners and it will be your job to make sure that you make each child’s educational experience meaningful to them.
As I started this class, I did not expect out of it what I got. College classes are usually about facts and information, but that was not this course. This course was about exploring your inner thoughts and opinions, how you come to those points, and how they affect others. These components are what establish effective leadership and communication skills. One of the key points I grasped from this course is to always be mindful of others. To be able to be mindful of others, it is important to first, be mindful of yourself.
The progress of my writing has consisted of overcoming struggles as well as enhancing my strengths. Some in which will include style, organization, evidence, focused topic, etc. Undoubtedly, there are numerous elements of writing to establish a clear statement regarding the topic discussed. When I first started out as a reader, I mostly focused on the intention that the author wanted to describe. Previously, when forming an essay regarding the article it made me search for evidence that it was provided and the validation which supports it. Elements that I have concentrated and implemented onto the introductions that describe an overview of the topic along.
The purpose of this assignment is to self-reflect on what has been learnt in the topic this semester and how it is going to influence as a health professional in our chosen field. This assessment is made to encourage us to be able to identify the values and beliefs we have as individuals and how these impact on our ability to interact without others in a diverse society. This self-reflection will include the results from an Implicit Association Test to help gain a greater awareness of my own unconscious thoughts as well as evidence from reliable sources to help back up statements and give evidence to support this assessment.
Every one has their subjects that they love and hate, and for it was defiantly writing. Writing is something I dreaded for a long time; I developed my hatred towards writing since probably elementary school. I hate writing when I’m expected to put a spin on a subject that just doesn’t work for me, personally. There are many times when I have papers due and sometimes I feel like I have nothing to say towards the topic. I could write a paragraph but to continuously write paragraphs after paragraphs it gets a little harder. I always contradict myself in my writings but that is something I have grown out of. Writing is time consuming and requires a lot of effort. They require a lot of planning and usually some accompanying reading and note taking. Taking notes is one of my weaknesses. In some intuitions like my high school for instances there was not enough time is given to the rough draft and not enough feedback is given before the essay receives a final grade. I personally believe that not everyone is a "natural-born" writer; but I do believe that everyone has the capability to become a decent writer.
