His wife Mary Davis-Travis got up on stage and spoke out about everything that Randy has been through over the years. Alan Jackson was there and performed the song On the Other Hand. He also spoke out about touring with Travis years ago saying, "When he sang, the women were screaming and fainting and it was crazy. I loved it. Someone singing real country music and having that effect and selling all those records, it just made me so happy."
Washington Post shared a bit more about Randy Travis performing this weekend. Randy's voice was described as "shaky and slightly garbled." Randy didn't just sign, but he also stood up from his wheelchair for the big performance. He let everyone see him on his feet doing what he is known best for by his fans. Of course, Randy Travis got a standing ovation. Davis-Travis told the Tennessean in March about Randy. Here is what he had to say.
"He lived and he loved the songs that he wrote and the songs that he sang. He’s a man of great courage. He’s kind. He’s gentle and he has God-given talents. He chose a career he was hoping he could make a difference in. That career made a difference in
Imagine yourself outside with thousands of people in midsummer, on the beach with your friends, dancing around, hitting beach balls in the air, and drinking your favorite drink. Then suddenly the concert starts, you hear the song Storm Warning start to play, and see the fog rise above the stage, and then Hunter Hayes starts rising from underneath the stage into the fog, and he starts to sing. Due to Hunter Hayes’s awards/nominations, charitable contributions, and impact/inspiration on his life proves beyond a doubt that the CMA Hall of Fame should induct this person.
He rarely made public appearances. Then in May 2003, June Carter died. Cash, though, continued to work. With Rubin at his side, the singer sat down to record what would be known as American VA Hundred Highways. Just week before his death on September 12, 2003, from complications associated with diabetes, Cash wrapped up his final track."Once June passed, he had the will to live long enough to record, but that was pretty much all," Rubin recalled around the album's release on July 4, 2004. "A day after June passed, he said, 'I need to have something to do every day. Otherwise, there's no reason for me to be

Toby Keith is talent personified. Toby is not just a singer but he is a songwriter as well. Most country artists today lack the talent to write, in the past nearly all the legends of Country Music wrote and sang their own material. Toby Keith holds rank with those Legends of Country Music. Put Toby Keith up against "other" musicians and in other genres-- Toby is still in a league by himself. Many artists today lack the talent to sing without the high-tech studio gimmicks to make their voices better. Toby Keith possesses one strong, clear and beautiful baritone voice . His talent of writing and singing were God given. Toby genuinely acknowledges God's role in his singing as well as in his life. He is not afraid to stand up and share his beliefs in God, Country and Family Values. On the flipside Toby will let loose paying tribute to the old Country Music stereotype songs: of beer drinking and temptation. Not many artists can walk such a fine
There are some interesting things that most people don't know about Brantley. He has a love for cars and riding motorcycles. He does rides for vets and is a major supporter of our troops. The first time playing his song “One Hell of An Amen” he payed tribute to the 19 Hotshot Prescott Wildland firefighters that died in a fire. He owns and runs a deer farm. “He is one of the most soft-spoken sweetest people on the planet… There’s one of the nicest people walking this earth.” -Justin Moore.
The strum of the guitar, the bang of the drums, and the roar of the crowd. That is what country music legend Troyal Garth Brooks, or Garth Brooks, as most call him, has worked toward all his life. Garth has had some disappointments on his road to country music stardom, but he has worked through them and has prevailed. His prowess in country music certainly did not come from luck, but from faith and perseverance.
Strait has never been the one to seek the spotlight on his private life, and the death of his daughter was no exception. All of the reporters gave him privacy out of courtesy (Bego, 1997). Strait loved his daughter and did not want her memory to be ruined by the reporters. That same year, he won the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year award. The award was taken in Jenifer’s honor (George Strait, 2012).
In the summer of 1985, Garth dropped his job and apartment and moved to Nashville. He had big dreams moving to Nashville and even thought about seeing his name painted on his hometown’s water tower. Garth soon came in contact with reality after a meeting with Merlin Littlefield, a director of ASCAP who told Garth he would starve as a songwriter. Garth was hurt by the man’s message and returned home to Oklahoma within twenty-four hours. When he was at home he spent his time forming a new band that they called Santa Fe, the band would play all types of music. The band consisted of people Garth knew and had met in the past. They played at a new club in downtown Stillwater to start off and show people what they had to offer. In between sets, other band members may get a drink or go outside to smoke, but Garth would often go out into the crowd and make friends. Santa Fe became more popular and even booked more dates to play. Brooks was ready to take on Nashville once again, this time with his
Have you ever wondered why George Strait is the King of Country music? With Georges many followers across the world and many awards he received this means he would be set up for success right? I wouldn't be doing the concert any justice if I didn't emphasize the buzz of the town on the day of the show. When my life long friend, and fellow DMB fan, and I rolled into the historic college town of Charlottesville, we could almost instantly feel the excitement crash into us (no pun intended). As we drove into
Many country music artists looked up to Johnny Cash such as, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Johnny cash took on the toughest gigs in town. He even played at the prison where he definitely left an imprint. Johnny Cash recorded many of his songs at “Columbia Records”. Kris
Garth says “ I couldn’t have done it with out my wife and both of my parents, especially my mother. She made such a difference in my life, I am so grateful for her and her always being there for me.” All of Garths fans and the people who work with him say “He would never do anything to hurt anyone. He is always helping others and thinking about them.” Garth is not like most celebrates; he is really nice and doesn’t try to be better then everyone. He sees himself as a normal person and thinks everyone is the same. He tells Waddell, “Our promoters don’t have any front row seats to give out. We’ve never done an endorsement because of one phrase in every contract; we need 20 of your best tickets every night. When you’ve got 20 people that would be somewhere else if they didn’t have a free ticket, which sucks. We want everyone to be there because they want to be there. We’ve turned down $10-$20 million because of these.”
When Josh started singing and playing his guitar, the crowd was wowed. Whitney Houston had a very powerful voice. Most singers are not able to hit all of the notes like she did. Josh was able to hit all of the high notes. People were not only impressed with Josh's singing, but he was also impressed with how well he
