Morrison are supposed to come home on a scheduled time from Vicksburg, but they don’t arrive on that time. Then everyone gets very worried and start panicking as if they could tell something bad was going to happen to the three of them. Then later in the night, the three of them come home, but Papa returns with a broken leg. Mr. Morrison explains that a wagon has rolled over it, but not everyone believes so. Then Cassie manages to talk Stacey out from explaining the whole incident. It started when they were coming home from Vicksburg and the two wheels on the wagon came off, then when Papa wanted to fix the first wheel, someone shot him on the left leg, and the wagon rolled over it, then the three men went to attack Mr. Morrison, but Mr. Morrison vigorously throws one of the three men on the ground, and breaks another man’s arm, injuring them both. Then the third man pulls them onto the truck and leaves. Leaving Papa, Stacey and Mr. Morrison finish fixing the wagon and head home. Now Papa is hurt, the only thing Cassie and her brothers can do are just to wait till next morning, and hope Papa’s leg will recover

Stacey suggests that they should just stay there until the bus passes them so they wont get splashed , but TJ convinces them to keep walking. Once they start walking the bus comes barely hitting the Logan children and TJ who try to jump in the bank . But they all miss and end up in the muddy gully . They go to Robyn’s late at night, and everything is very dark except for the Showground, which is bright and vivid. They see a truck wheeling out of it, and they get suspicious. They split up into groups and execute different objectives, so they don’t get caught together. They plan to meet again later that night. Lee and Robyn go to Lee’s house, Fi and Homer visit Fi’s house, and Corrie, Ellie and Kevin go near the Showground. While Corrie, Ellie and Kevin are near the Showground, they see soldiers, tents, and a lot of parked cars. When they start to walk back, they are noticed and shot at, but luckily no one got hurt. The soldiers chase the gang through a yard of an abandoned house. Ellie notices a ride-on mower and lights it on fire with gasoline and lures the soldiers to that area. The ride-on mower blows up, and Corrie, Ellie and Kevin are safe (for now?). They go to meet with the rest of the gang, but only two of them are waiting for them… Lee and Robyn aren’t there. They

The final scene I will describe for you is when the mother finally realizes who is doing the damage to the home. She gets really mad at them and starts to freak out on them. These people get mad and more mad that she found out since they made the mother finally realise what is going on.
