I received a better insight into the ways I learn and process information. After taking the VARK Learning Styles Self-Assessment, I found out that I learn best visually, but I’m also able to learn by reading and writing. It’s important because as much as like listening to different audiobooks and podcasts, I now know that it’s not the best way for me to learn. That knowledge will help me out when I take classes like Art History and Philosophy.

This class experience has enhanced my understanding of the art world and how visuals play a major role in expressing certain ideals. The way certain artists portray their art is caused by many different techniques. It’s amazing to see my progression through out from week to week through my discussion boards. This class encouraged me to think differently and critically through the discussion boards. I was able to read differing thoughts on the subject matter, and that really was beneficial for my learning. Not only did my instructor and the assigned readings help me to personally think beyond and to dig deeper into the materials, but learning what others thought opened up a new world to me. The discussions in AMS 332 are what were so helpful and positive about this class to me.
1. What was your biggest takeaway from this course? My biggest takeaway from this course was the projects. I really enjoyed creating the prezi, infographic, and the technology integration project. This class has taught me to not only think differently but also to listen to the thoughts of others and how they feel about certain topics and to not judge them but to take their thought into consideration when I think about the same thing. Overall I feel that this class has enhanced my critical thinking skills and made me more prepared for the adult world and all of the decisions that come with it. The critical thinking skills that I have gained this semester would have to be not just going along with what someone believes but challenging it to see why they believe that and why one should have the same beliefs that they do. This semester has taught me that
