Looking at me you may see a daughter, a mother or a Riverside Homecare nurse but there is much more if time is taken to really know me. I am a nurse with a vision and desire to partner with other healthcare professionals to offer optimal healthcare while staying true to myself, my nursing expertise and the mission of our health system. Participating in RELA would expose me to a skill set that wasn’t explored in nursing school. We were taught to be patient advocates and the nursing process. There was no lecture outlining a path from the patient bedside to the board of directors. I am looking forward to RELA providing a platform where I can collaborate with peers and learn new ideas because everyday problems rarely have a singular solution. …show more content…
Allowing me to step outside of my day to day activities and identify strengths and challenges I possess bringing awareness of my impact within the Riverside System. RELA will allow me to draw on the experiences of those in a leadership role and develop purposeful goals for myself that will inspire peers creating a culture of excellence. It will allow my to mirror techniques utilized by successful leaders and incorporate them into my day to day relationships building a stronger sense sense of teamwork. I hope to gain a better knowledge of Riverside Health System on a global level seeing how it maintains social responsibility, cultural awareness and sustains community relations. I want to get a greater understanding of the challenges the health system faces and how that affects the goals and vision of Riverside. RELA will provide me with a network for ongoing knowledge sharing and a collaborative experience that will help to fine tune my professional goals.
Great leadership does not come from a chapter in a text book it is a skill developed from experience. By participating in the RELA program I look forward to being a driving force in my current work setting bringing forth growth and development. I plan on taking the skills I learn and inspiring others by showing them direction and focus can make a difference. Leadership opportunities may not always come from and appointed position, it may be as simple as taking ownership of a task that needs to be done and doing

Nurses are the first to deal with patients such as, the aging population in the clinical or community setting, so they are well qualified to give expert testimony on health care reform. Before nurses can take a stance and gain a voice in the political arena, they must take on a new hat as an “advocate.” They can start their journey as a patient advocate by joining an association like The American Nurses Association (ANA). Associations like the ANA can mentor nurses venturing into the profession of patient advocacy; in addition to mentoring, the nursing associations can offer legislative days, policy internships, and conduct policy workshops to educate nurses on how to positively affect the legislation and policies at the state or federal level on health care
Being able to have anything you could imaging on your own pair of sneakers would interest many people. Your shoes will be an eye catcher and stand out in a crowd. If all of your friends have the same pair of shoes, and you want yours to be just a little bit different, with my help, that can be made possible. Because I enjoy customizing shoes, and I will need to have knowledge to own a profitable business, I am going to go to Germanna Community College starting next year. After Germanna, I will transfer into JMU’s exceptional business program, where I plan to get a business degree.
Upon graduation from high school with an above 4.0 GPA and a 28 ACT score, I received the Wildcat Excellence Scholarship from the University of Arizona in the amount of $6,000. Among the friendliness, location, and pristine medical reputation, this scholarship was a large reason why I proudly chose the U of A for my undergraduate studies, because without the financial aid there was diminutive chance of being able to afford a college education. During my first semester freshman year, I struggled with common ‘teenager problems’ (low-self esteem, peer pressure, etc.), but there was also an added weight: I graduated high school at the age of fifteen, and it was at that time I left home for university life. While academically, I seemed prepared enough for this challenge, emotionally I was still only barely sixteen,
Energized by the U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding most of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the American Nurses Association (ANA) is continuing its wide ranging efforts to ensure that Registered Nurses (RNs) have an even greater role in providing high quality care as implementation of the landmark law progresses. As guiding principles, ANA contends that health care is a basic human right, and that all deserve access to essential health care services. As nurses witness every day, a lack of primary and preventive care can cause people's manageable chronic conditions to spiral, leading to poorer patient outcomes and increased overall health care costs. (Anonymous, 2012). According to Billings and Halstead (2012), nurses are poised to participate in transforming this nation's health care system. Participation requires nurses to possess political advocacy skills so that nursing voice is brought to the policy debates and policy development.
I believe I have helped out the community of Sartell in many ways. I have had a lot of opportunities to make a difference, and I am happy to help whenever needed. I have helped at many sites and with a large range of age groups. I have enjoyed all of my experiences.
KUDZU will conduct qualitative research with HCPS to understand if the creative print ideas support the Dr. Patient dialogue and to ensure that the ideas are not incongruent with how Drs. think about and discuss PCSK9
I would like to begin by thanking the selection committee of the Paul E. Hostettler Scholarship for considering my application for this award. I realize that no one deserves to be handed awards, but that they must be earned. With that in mind, I humbly list my accomplishments, not to imply that I deserve a reward, but to demonstrate my work ethic so you will feel confident that your scholarship dollars will not go to waste. Throughout high school I have successfully balanced school and sports, maintaining a 3.9 GPA while earning varsity letters in golf, basketball, track, and as a manager of the football team. I accompanied my golf team to sectionals and districts all four years of golf as well as receiving all-academic honors and Miss. Sportsmanship
Seeing a child who can't run and play, my heart is filled with compassion. Knowing that I can make a difference for that child, my heart is filled with faith. Seeing the child's smile of success, my heart is filled with love. I have been blessed to be able to attend thirteen years of Catholic school as well as becoming a Balavisx assistant instructor. These experiences have carved me into the person I have become.
Throughout highschool I have grown as a person. Three words I would use to describe myself as would be friendly, caring, and positive. My mom has always taught me to include everyone in everything. This is the main reason why I am so friendly. Whenever I see someone sitting alone at lunch, or even walking to class alone, I am the type of person to go up to them and talk to them to make sure they know they are always welcomed to join me. Two things I try to accomplish everyday are telling everyone good morning and giving everyone at least one complement. I love doing this because you never know when someone can be having a bad day and the one compliment you give them can change their whole day around. I would also say
I am deserving of the Liado, scholarship. I deserve this prestigious accolade, because I put in an incomparable effort to shed a positive light both on campus and community wide. With leadership positions across my campus, as well as potential positions within my sorority, I strive to incorporate the values learned from being a student and woman, into all my external endeavors as well. I use my Italian lineage, to guide my future, growing up, I have been instilled with the values loyalty, respect and love, and these have become these are the principles in which I formulate my endeavors. I utilize these morals in my positions as our college’s Relay for Life Event Chairperson, Colleges Against Cancer’s Publicity Coordinator, as well as Delta
I’m applying for the AVID program due to the fact that I believe that I’m a hardworking student. I want to challenge myself so I can achieve the best I can be academically. I believe that this makes me an ideal addition to your program. I have been told by people that I’m well mannered, helpful, and that I follow directions.
The biggest issues related to APRN practice involve state scope of practice variation, reimbursement issues, and interprofessional relationships (Lathrop & Hodnicki, 2014). These issues are more prominent with the ACA. While these barriers are conspicuous, a DNP prepared APRN can accept them as a challenge to promote the nursing profession and advocate for patients through policy change. Active participation with legislative changes is essential to advancing health care for all patients. APRNs can dispel misunderstandings regarding practice, outcomes, quality and patient satisfaction through education using research and evidence based outcomes (Hooker & Muchow, 2015).
It is assumed that they will be offering both French and English classes during weekday and weekend with OILT. But without a clear understanding of the new targeted market, it is difficult to estimate a sales number. In this calculation, instead of looking at the profit based on an assumed number of sales, the profitability of the OILT programs is evaluated using the same level of sales as proposed in Scenario 3 with RELE. The comparison of the profitability can reveal the different franchise fee structure and its impact on profitability.
