A place that’s really important to me from my childhood would have to be Quick Trip, or as it’s commonly abbreviated, QT. It was important to me because when my friends and I would hang out we would always talk to the workers and get soda. I know it seems weird that an 18 year old girl would say that her favorite place to hang out or a place that meant a lot to her was a gas station, but I didn’t have a very good home life in my in my adolescence, so I took every excuse to stay out of the house. QT’s main colors are red, black, and white. Their uniform, not unlike Target’s, is a red polo shirt with khaki pants. When you first walk in, the cashier’s station is normally on the right across from the candy bar shelves. Behind the cashiers station
Imagine coming home from school to a car fully packed waiting to go to Fort Walton, Florida. Well that's what I came home to on the last day until Spring Break. We will be going to the beach, swimming, fishing, and more when we get there! I was so excited to leave. The car drive was estimated to be only 10 hours. But on the way a lot of other people had the same idea as us on our trip. Traffic was bad on the way down. There were lots of crashes. Believe it or not there was a backup that was like 4 miles. The cars were bumper to bumper and and it was getting late. In about 30 minutes we got about 1 mile. It was awful! With the bumper to bumper traffic there was another crash. That delayed us about 30 more minutes. We all got grumpy because we
Have you ever wanted to star in a movie with one of an extraordinary actor? I definitely have. If I could choose to be an any movie it would be Ride Along 2 because it is one of the most hilarious comedies I have ever seen and I would be able to work with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. It would an outgoing opportunity for me.
The Freedom Ride had occurred in 1965 with the aim of drawing attention to poor state of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders health, education, housing and ultimately, they state of their wellbeing. Because the United States Constitution states that all citizens have the right to bear arms, and the government has control over all public space, a college student has the right to carry a concealed weapon with a license in Texas. However, the threat of shooters to become anyone with a gun and the risk of students going berserk make the Campus Carry law seem useless and meaningless. Therefore, the Texas state Government should rethink and abolish a law that has too many risks and not so much of a reward.
Though it may seem that the large quantity of college students vacationing in a town for spring break would stimulate the economy and bring in revenue, the assumption is distorted. College students are broke and survive only on necessity goods, rather than luxury goods. In other words, they will pay for cheap motel rooms and bad beer, rather than purchasing fancy hotel rooms and expensive alcohol. Furthermore, college students have little income, so they cannot afford to buy souvenirs, seafood dinners, and participate in activities such as parasailing, compared to the families that vacation in the summer months.
Day 3, work on the second piece of the “puzzle” and progress with your next task…
Over spring break I have learned a lot about carbohydrates, sugars, calories, energy, and exactly what happens to our bodies on the inside when we consume unhealthy things. This lesson is classified as human science. It is classified as this because it's the study of what goes on in the human body. Basically I learned and researched this because I am trying to eat extremely healthy because when I read what soda, gatorade, cookies, juice, and chips can do to your body I got very nervous. I saw how it affects you bowel movement, your ability to break down fat, how it makes pimples, and how you lose energy. When I officially understood and read these things I had enough it took me a while to really push myself onto a healthy food diet because
My 2018 Spring Break was better than usual and began with a great start. For this Spring Break, I went on a Road Trip to visit different college campuses on the northern side of California, a place I had never been to. I went with my program called, LACC Upward Bound that included 34 other students. I did not attend this trip alone and this was great because my friends got to come along on this great experience with me. Arriving to Northern California took about 4- 5 hours and during this drive I took this picture. It is so different from Los Angeles, everything is much greener, beautiful and natural. Our first location was Santa Cruz and the college we visited was UC Santa Cruz. On our way there, I saw many animals like cows, horses, sheeps,
Spring break was for an adventure for me. I did lots of stuff from playing games and watching netflix to camping and exploring. On my first few days of spring break, I just slept in and watched netflix. I personally liked how it started out, i wasn't waking up tired and i was at full power when i woke up. The shows i watched on netflix where walking dead and the OA. Later on in the break i decided to rewatch all the Harry Potter movies and that was one of my favorite part of the break. It took me about 2 to 3 days to watch all 8 movies. After Harry Potter I watched other movies but i mostly Played games like Rocket League and Fortnite. On the last week of spring break i planed last minute camping and sleeping over with my friends in the backyard.
The character of Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale is uniquely complicated. Although it may seem as his personality is straightforward and easily comprehensible, his character sketch is symbolic and controversial. Throughout the novel, his behavior significantly changes. Changes in expression of Dimmesdale and other characters uncover the beauty of Hawthorne’s ambiguous style greatly. Reverend's identity changes from a physically ill person who is concerned about his position in the society to a suffering and conflicting personage.
This was the moment that I have been waiting for since the beginning of my senior year. I couldn’t wait to leave cold Michigan for spring break. There was no way that I wasn’t going to Panama City Beach, Florida this year. I heard so many stories from past seniors in my school. This had me watching to go so bad that I made a countdown of how many days I had left until spring break. It was like Las Vegas but just for kids, so what happens in PCB, stays in PCB. This was the place where you would go to create the best memories of your life with your friends before everybody goes their separate ways after high school.
Everyone did something divergent this spring break. Therefore, I contemplate this mini vacation has been the first in five years I’ve done exciting things.
Women earn 77 cents for every dollar a male earns- this statistic has been utilized to promote the idea that there is institutionalized discrimination against females in the workplace. This misleading figure has been parroted by former President Barrack Obama; and has been propagated by social media: famous feminists like Emma Watson have spoken out about the gender pay gap, and have tried to assert that women are paid less for preforming the same jobs as men- but that is a blatant mistruth. The statistic conveniently omits nuance- and doesn’t accurately portray the American labor force. Almost every country in the Western world has legal ramifications for discriminating against someone on the basis of gender; and even with policies like affirmative
In his ground-breaking text The Politics, the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle was a staunch advocate of a mixed constitution. A mixed constitution is a form of government in which there is an amalgamation of characteristics that comprise differing types of constitutions. There are a plethora of reasons that are argued to have contributed to his adoption of this stance. However, this essay will hone in on three that are posited to be crucial: firstly, the well-known philosophical principle that two extremes cancel out the worst excesses in each other, from which stability will result; secondly, […] ; and thirdly, […] Prior to a discussion that will ensue on why and the grounds on which Aristotle advocates a mixed constitution, this
