I currently have two jobs and I can say that my nursing job brings we the best reward one can gain and that’s seeing a miracle come into this world daily. I don’t consider this a job because I get to interact with my patient as if they were family and I’m forever connected to that family. Now, on the other hand my management job on the weekends causes me to stress and dislike going in daily. I believe at the end of the day your thoughts of your job are based on the satisfaction your job brings you. My nursing job gives me a financial stability but it doesn’t allow me to grow in the business and technology aspect as I would like too.
With my current managerial position, I’ve noticed some cons which are long hours (salary paying job), increased
In order to reach one’s goal, the goal should be well defined, firm and the individual must be completely committed to attaining it. Pursuing a career as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner has always been my driving goal throughout all my education and training since the age of seventeen. Over the past three years working within a Surgical Inpatient unit as a Registered Nurse, I have become aware of the lack of community resources and access to health care available in rural areas. This has inspired me apply to the University of Western Ontario’s Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner program for the fall of 2014. After completing my Bachelor of Science of Nursing at the University of Western Ontario, I am certain that no other

This course is something that will be very important for my career as a Registered Nurse. I plan to try my hardest and do my very best in this course. By the end of the course I expect to be able to properly communicate using medical terminology. The only experience I have with medical terminology is an anatomy class I took in high school. I retained the information well and I still remember most of the words I learned in that class, because I knew they would be important to know later on.
In your nursing career or personal life, have you volunteered your services? If so, please describe the facility and your experience. If not, why?

For as long as I can remember, I always told myself I would go to college. As a senior, I went through all the steps of admitting into a college, or so I thought. I did everything except turn in my mom’s signature to the FAFSA. Getting ready to submit the signature I realized I was not ready to spend $60,000 in a career I wasn't passionate about. Now here I am again 3 years later doing it again, most people would see this as a set back, but I see it more as an opportunity. This time I am prepared to pursue my goal of attending collage and purse a nursing career . I feel that with the opportunity your scholarship will provide I can reach my goals of taking care of others.

It is the year 1992 and my mother is currently nine months pregnant with me, in the war torn country of Bosnia & Herzegovina, wondering if she and I will make it out alive; luck must have been on her side because my mother escaped the war and gave birth to me in Croatia. Eighteen months later, we are on a flight traveling to New York City, which would eventually land in Jacksonville, FL. Now, fast forward to the year 2015 and I am graduating from Nursing School. 23 years ago, my mother did not know we were going to make it out alive, let alone that one day she would be watching me at my pinning ceremony. My mom got rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 26 and has been struggling with it ever since. She

Everyone desires to be remembered when they are gone and am no exception. I would love special memories of me to linger in the minds and hearts of those I got to interact with during my lifetime. I have always considered myself as someone so full of life and outgoing and would want to be remembered by family and friends as the kindest soul, a symbol of true kindness and love. My mother always taught me the virtue of kindness from a tender age and that it was the most priceless gift one could offer. Attending to my patients at the hospital and seeing them get well has always brought joy and peace to my heart. I would want my community to remember me as a symbol of love and to always spread that love by showing acts of kindness to the less fortunate. My nursing career has impacted heavily in the person I have become.
Since I was in grade school I always had a dream of going to college and becoming a doctor. I pushed myself to maintain an “A average” and continued to be involved in sports and school activities. Both my personal and professional lifetime goals in life are to provide and offer true love and compassion for humanity. With my goal of obtaining a nursing degree is extremely important to me as it would allow me the opportunity to fulfill my career goals and desires.
A career trajectory is a formalized plan for a successful transition into a career path that an individual has chosen. Likewise, the goal of nursing is to improve health through the advancement of knowledge therefore, improving the safety, effectiveness, and the access for healthcare. In combining these two definitions, a career trajectory in nursing advancement is to allow for clarity of direction and expected outcomes in a career by meeting the goals to advance in the healthcare field. In order to build a successful career as an advanced practitioner an individual must consider the requirements of the position and make strategic decisions in order to facilitate progression towards this goal (Feetham & Doering, 2015).
I believe that I am prepared to face the challenges and demands of the nursing program at Sumner College. Nursing programs are intensive and demanding which require a lot of study time and good study skills, both of which I have. Nursing is my passion, so classes and clinicals will be a pleasure for me. I’m determined to do the very best that I can to meet and exceed the goals that I and Sumner College has set forth to be an RN student.
Pursuing an associates degree in nursing without three children and a career is hard enough, so I can only imagine the stress this senior student is going through in the presented learning exercise. I believe the logical decision for this student is to quit her part time job so she can focus more on herself, her children, and schoolwork. In this situation we do not know how supportive her parents are that she lives with. I would assume that they are rooting for their daughter to complete nursing school and are willing to do all that it takes to help her achieve this goal. Money is always an issue, so I also believe the student should try to take a loan out to help with school expenses and any other expenses she may have. Taking a loan out to
