When it comes to the topic of attaining a college degree, most will readily agree that it is essential to securing a successful career post-graduation. Whereas some are convinced that a college degree does not guarantee entry into a career in one 's field of study nor does it determine success in one 's career, others maintain that a higher education is, in fact, the way to job security and financial success. What comes into question is whether the investment in a college education is truly worth it or not in order to accomplish a student 's goals of success. I think it could be said for most prospective college students that the reason for going to college is to gain the credentials required for most jobs today. What many of those potential students may not realize is the substantial percentage of graduates who do not acquire a job related to their majors, how much debt they will incur, and just how many students don 't graduate at all for reasons such as an overwhelming workload and a poor work/ life balance.

I received an urgent message from Cynthia Wallace, who was taking calls on the Nursing line. She stated that the patient called and reported that she is experiencing feelings of depression and becoming very suicidal. The patient informed her that she had discontinued he medications around two weeks ago.

My career choice is a Forensic Psychologist. Since I first figured what I wanted to be when I grew up, it either involved science, medicine, and law. I went from Surgeon to Scientist then to Lawyer. It always somehow involved the criminal field. So, I did more research on what I could assemble and I came to the conclusion that being a Forensic Psychologist was the best route for me to take. In my paper, I will be telling you more in depth information about my career choice, how my thoughts of my career choice relate to the information of my career, my plan to get to this career, and furthermore my future.

Passion. It is the unseen force, filled with overwhelming desire and emotion, that drives us to move forward in life despite the challenges and risks. As Andrew Carnegie once said, “Anything in life worth having is worth working for.” This principle is what inspired me to find my passion and has been the principle I have followed in both my collegiate and professional career. I have always put my right foot forward, striving to challenge myself both in the classroom and outside of it as I continue down my path to discover what I love and how I wish to show it. What appeals to me most in nursing is the combination of emotional, mental, and physical skills that are so crucial to the job. While being able to learn and apply science to patients, I get to understand them better, console them, and tend to their health needs. Moreover, the broad spectrum of jobs and positions nurses can hold fascinates me. There is never a time to cease learning, growing, and obtaining new experiences. After many years with restraints that bounded me with limited nursing practice and fewer chances of career advancement became the motivating factor for me to seek higher educations. The year 1999 was the turning point of my nursing career. I became a registered nurse. As an RN I took advantage of career advancement that my employer offered. I took on internship in telemetry and medical emergency nursing. My experience in the telemetry department afforded me the opportunity to work as charge nurse, float to ICU and care for patients with a wide variety of diseases, and multiple cormorbities . Since high school, nursing has increasing grown as the career I feel destined for. Science has always been my favorite subject, and I know my family often gets annoyed with my constant explanations of body functions and diseases. After shadowing a charge nurse in the Emergency Room and riding around with a paramedic, my passion for nursing has elevated. I’ve grown to love the intensity of the medical world and the nobility that comes with saving a life. As a senior in high school I am very eager to graduate and pursue a career. I have multiple options that I'm still deciding on but know for sure that the medical field is where I belong. I am already planning on getting my CNA license during the summer of 2018 to prepare me for the nursing program. I have three potential career paths that I would like to pursue but choosing which one to take will be the hard part. The first career path is getting a BSN at IUPUI then going on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing or earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice. They sound like me because I am very organized and I enjoy observing, learning and evaluating things. Education is the path in which all our dreams can be realized and achieved. My dream is not something that is grounded, but rather something that will help me soar. My dream is to become an aviator in the United States Army. This is a dream of mine that I have been pursuing, ever since since I realized it is what I was called to do. I joined the Civil Air Patrol, an Air Force Auxiliary to get closer to the military and aviation field. I eventually became the College Park Composite Squadron’s First Sergeant, leading over 30 cadets in Physical Training(PT), Drill, teaching classes and various other activities. From the Civil Air Patrol I not only succeeded but I thrived and I realized this is the kind of environment I want to be in. What I do in the next 3 years of college will determine whether my dream comes true or not and I believe that I posses the right aptitude and determination to achieve my dream.

As a kid graduating from high school, going into the college life that I know will be a long journey that might consist of being struggling some days. As once was a little eight year old who has learned from their parents has decided a career that he knows and loves to do has form a life changing moment. As the college days get started, the classes and homework is teaching me more responsibility and skills for my career choice and eventually the hard work will pay off. As of going to different colleges to get a degree and graduate to find a job close to where I would like to live.

It has been 10 years passed since last time I entered in college as a freshman, and now, at the end of 2017, I decide to go back to college for pursuing a new major and reaching a new objective of career path. All of these will start from Fullerton College.
