There is something about other cultures that intrigues people. It is quite fascinating to learn and observe other people ideals and beliefs. It’s cool to get to see the geography and what other countries beliefs, religions, political make-up and a lot more. The area that I will be describing and telling you about is Puerto Rico. The area of Puerto Rico is 3,515mi squared, the location is in the Caribbean Sea and the length is 170km (106 mi). The Major islands that surround Puerto Rico are Vieques and Culebra. There are five islands that surround the Island of Puerto Rico and the population is around 3,994259 people. The largest settlement in Puerto Rico is San Juan with a population of 434,374 people. The island itself is not that big but the population is a pretty good size for the mass of the island. The currency in Puerto Rico is the United States Dollar because it is considered part of the United States. The Languages spoken in Puerto Rico is of course Spanish and English. Those are the main languages that are spoken in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico itself is surrounded by beach area, casinos, buildings and the El Yunque tropical Rainforest. The religion in Puerto Rico varies upon each person and what they believe in. Most Puerto Ricans are Roman Catholic but religious freedom for all faiths is guaranteed by the commonwealth constitution. There is a Jewish community center in Miramar, and there’s a Jewish reformed congregation in Santurce. There are also protestant services for Baptists, Episcopalians, Lutherans, and Presbyterians, and there are other interdenominational services. Following the U.S. acquisition of the island in 1898, Protestantism grew in influence and popularity. There are some 1,500 Evangelical churches in Puerto Rico

The Dominican Republic was explored by Christopher Columbus in 1492. When he first discovered it, he named it ‘La Española.’ It became an official country in 1844. The capital is Santo Domingo and the population is about 10.4 million people. The main language spoken there is Spanish, the main religion is Roman Catholic, and their Independence Day is February 27, 1844, which makes it younger than the United States.
In Haiti, although French is an official language that is widely spoken and understood, most Haitians speak Creole in daily life. Most native-born Haitian Americans speak English fluently, as do many immigrants. Most Haitian Americans are Roman Catholics. Some smaller Protestant and Mormon communities of Haitian Americans also exist, as does a population of Jehovah's Witnesses. Religion is very important in the life of Haitian Americans.
Many of the coastlines are white sand beaches, which is what most tourists come to see. There are several mountain ranges hat run through the country as well! The highest range of mountains run straight through the center of the country, and is known as the Cordillera Central. The highest mountain in all of the Caribbean is also located in this mountain range, called Pico Duarte. Highlands in Dominican Republic are a lot like highlands in Haiti.
The religion of most Puerto Ricans is Roman Catholic, although very few actually attend services. Spiritualism is also very common; many Puerto Ricans blend Catholicism with other traditions like spiritualism, an idea that spirits of the deceased roam the island.
We can't talk about Puerto Rico without giving a shout out to rum! Rum production has contributed notably to Puerto Rico's economic development since the 16th century. In fact, around 70% of the rum consumed in the U.S. is imported from Puerto Rico. If you visit the island, keep in mind that some distilleries, like Bacardi and Don Q, offer free tours and drinks.

The Dominican Republic is surrounded by the North Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The Dominican Republic has a nice landscape.
Catholic still had to attend a Catholic school. The protestant churches increase and represented the Baptist, Methodist, and Pentecostal. (Unaeze, page 814, 2000) In Haitian, they really focus on Voodoo in the Haiti religious life center. The Haiti religious center have similar elements of Catholicism with the diverse of African beliefs that had results in Haitian Voodoo.
