In Today’s world, countries are connecting and learning another language is essential for the growth of the United States. Many countries including China, France, and Germany require every student to show proficiency in at least one other language. Public schools should teach a foreign language starting in kindergarten because it increases potential of being employed, increase cognitive abilities, and delays the onset of disease that causes memory loss such as Alzheimer.
Knowing multiple languages increases the potential of being employed in another country. because of your ability to understand two languages. On the website, Minnesota State Career Wise, they discussed the benefits of knowing more than one language. It was stated, “As the country becomes more diverse, businesses are responding to a greater number of people, both employees and customers, who don't speak English.” Jerry Lampe, deputy director of the National Foreign Language Center said, “There's a growing awareness that studying a foreign language can help one obtain a really successful career and make them a lot more hirable.”This illustrates the world is expanding and connecting with overseas countries showing an increased need for …show more content…
