South Hadley High School was once again compelled to tell two students to turn their shirts inside out. They have become concerned because of t-shirts showing indecent messages and obscene language. Every day this issue progresses more and more. This has now gotten so out of hand that this school must make a rule in the code of conduct preventing message t-shirts. South Hadley has become troubled with the safety of both students and faculty. If this irresponsible behavior goes on much longer the school may not be an exceptional learning environment for students. South Hadley High School is one of the numerous schools forced to correct dress code. Dozens of students neglect to realize what harm they are causing by their profane images and slogans depicted on their clothes. Regulating t-shirts is desirable for three reasons. Age plays a large role, students saying hurtful things, and teaching about language is a school's job. Without a doubt, public schools should regulate message t-shirts. The main reason that public schools should control message t-shirts is that age plays a large role. While growing up the mind of a child is still expanding as is their ability to have rational decisions. For example, in adolescent years adults can expect the teen to do a task such as babysitting, but would never ask that from a toddler. As young people age, they are allotted more decisions for themselves. This is why it is very vital for public schools to manage message t-shirts,

There is much to be desired in schools with no school uniform. Being there is a major ethical appeal to introducing school uniforms to schools nationally. An advocate for school uniforms, Hillary Clinton, “as a way to help students focus on learning: "... Puts the focus on school, not on what you're wearing" (Mike Wilson). When everyone is wearing school uniforms, equality would become more than a desired idea or way of life. It would become a reality. Visually accessible to anyone. School uniforms will reduce the amount of student-to-student discrimination. Social classes become much less visible, thus diminishing bully, conflict, or any kind of tension between students in school. Sexual violence, harassment, or distraction has always
An epidemic among many schools around the United States and around the world is one huge thing. This epidemic among schools is the fact that students have to wear uniforms for their schools. However, some parents and students may disagree with wearing these uniforms. I am one who supports the statement that students should not wear these uniforms for their schools. The next paragraphs will explain the pros and cons of not wearing and wearing school uniforms.
“Your shoulders are showing” “You need to change”, dress codes can cause bullying and students feeling like they cannot express themselves enough. Everyone should be able to wear what they want when they want and how they want without getting in trouble, bullied and their class time taken away. In order for students to have an open minded, creative learning environment they should be free to express themselves in their style.
There have been many debates about dress codes policies at schools and students’ freedom of speech. In numerous cases involving students’ free speech and dress code policy of school districts, the courts have sided with the free speech of students. However, there are instances when the courts have said students’ rights of free speech are not protected in a school setting. Whenever a student’s dress
Students can wear T-shirts with messages on them. They can dye their hair a funky color. They can wear jewelry with a social statement on it. T-shirts with messages on them concern me because they can have any message on them. From being not okay for school, to really long print that everyone wants to read, to getting everyone distracted
It is their authority that has the results that recognizes to be a misdemeanor on students’ freedom of expression as it also restricts students on their choice of clothing. Students at more than 20 percent of public schools in America were required to wear uniforms in 2014, claims the National Center for Education Statistics. The National Center of Education also report that 60 percent of the schools in America may not require a school uniform, but do require a strict dress code. School Districts argue that the restrictions on school dress code increases school safety by prohibiting clothing associated with violence. It allows the students to increase their learning without dispensable distractions from displeasing or unpleasant clothing. “Schools also argue that it is necessary for students to comply with certain standards to prepare them to change from school to work.” Dress code restricts clothing with certain words or images that appear on them like symbols or images associated hate groups or criminal organizations. The inspiration for these restrictions are mostly safety related (“School Dress Code”
Recent research states “The goal of most dress codes is to discourage inappropriate dress and cut down on distractions in the classroom.” (Lindsay). This is stating schools are merely worried for their student’s safety. Perhaps it being that teaches remember what it like at that at the age and what went on through their heads. In Biglerville High School in Pennsylvania. A principal is trying to protect their student’s images and how they perceive them self in everyday life by stating “Gentlemen ..." said the letter, "PULL YOUR PANTS UP! Your underwear choices should be your own private choice and remain private." As for the girls, it counselled, "No bellies showing ... Please remember as you select an outfit for the awards assembly that we don't want to be looking at 'sausage rolls' as Mrs. Elliott calls them. As you get dressed remember that you can't put ten pounds of mud in a five-pound sack."(par 10. Are School Dress Codes) Students should be more cautious of what they wear this can make others see them differently and allow for an increase for social pressure. School systems are using the uniforms as a way to protect their students. Schools systems are using uniforms to not only protect the student looks and social pressure, but furthermore curtail the crime that goes on in the city and on campus.

School uniforms: a debate that has been tossed back and forth for years now. The percentage of schools that necessitate uniforms and the percentage of the ones that do not are approximately equal. This conveys a dispute that is difficult to find a definite solution for, due to the ambiguous negatives and positives being drawn between both arguments. Uniforms being a part of school systems became widespread first after Long Beach, California implemented them into their elementary and middle schools. It is safe to say that since then, schools have become far more lenient with what restrictions students have when it comes to uniforms. However, some others disagree with the policies on uniforms, believing that they obstruct on children's
Many students complain they are unable to wear the clothes they have purchased, due to strict dress codes. Most girls buy crop tops, off-the-shoulder shirts, rompers, and other blouses that the school does not accept. Most boys, on the other hand, do fine with the dress code, due to the fact they do not wear crop tops or off-the-shoulder tops. The females in school
What if America could cut down the number of school shootings by changing one thing? Would they be willing to change it? What they could have a little more piece of mind when their children go on a school trip by changing one thing? Would they be willing to change it? What if someone knew that their child would not be sent home from school because of what they are wearing by changing a single thing? Would they change it? School uniforms are the change we need. A school shooter would stand out in a second. A child would be easily spotted in a crowd of people on that school trip. A girl would not get sent home from school because everyone could see her shoulder. School uniforms could save so many lives, from school shootings to a child getting lost on a school felid trip and much in between.
Dress code is one of the most talked about topics amongst parents of children in school and teens. Some schools have a reasonable dress code but others are just out of line. Kids all around the world are being sent home and suspended because of the way they dress. Education is so much more important than the way someone is dressed so it does not make sense for teachers and staff members to cut into a kid’s education just because they are not dressed to some people's satisfaction. Although dress code is something all schools should have, some schools take it out of hand.
There’s always that one time in your life where you don’t know if your outfit is appropriate enough to wear to school and if you are breaking any dress code policies. School dress code has always been a big topic of discussion and has raised a lot of attention. many students and teachers have different opinions when it comes to school dress code like what is and isn’t appropriate to wear in school. Recently debates have sprung up as to whether or not dress code should be enforced in all schools. School dress code may vary from having a very lenient dress code to having a very strict dress code. School dress code is a good idea because it stops inappropriate clothes from coming into school, academic performance increases and rates of bullying decrease.
Implementing dress codes should not be allowed in educational institutions of any level. The debate over enforcing dress codes in school environments has been a controversial subject in the educational institutions for years. Administrators have struggled to find effective ways to decrease the number of disciplinary issues. The primary solution that they have implemented is the introduction of dress codes. While the introduction of dress codes has been a common way to help decrease the number of disciplinary issues, topics such as bullying, gangs, violence, and freedom of expression are thrown into this conversation, causing controversy within educational institutions. Overall, the implementation of dress codes is discriminative towards female students, however the policy also causes students to abstain from freedom of expression and freedom of speech.
