Living in Alaska and searching for an RV is hard. It started a couple of months ago with the hubs researching all options; diesel vs gas and class A vs class C. Like everything else in Alaska, RV's are expensive up here and are usually high miles. We ended up going to 2 RV dealerships to look at their older models that where in the lots waiting to be purchased. We started to notice a growing trend in the class C RVs is that the only size that we were going to be able to use was the 31ft size due us both liking our space and traveling with two cats that are both about 15 pounds a piece. Another deterant in the class C was that the shower size made me feel tall (I'm only 5'4" on a good day)
The Alaska Purchase happened back in 1867 followed by the Russia’s defeat in the Crimean War. The Russian Empire believed that the Russia Alaska was strategically difficult colony to defend against the British Columbia. The Russian Empire was already in financial troubles before the Crimean War but the loss increased the debt. Russian emperor feared to lose the Alaska without any compensation in future conflicts with the Britain. Plus Russia needed money desperately. For that reason, Czar Alexander II decided to sell it and attempted to sell it to the United States.
In all states ask for at least two or more witnesses, and testify of the crime of treason at open court. The more severe law of treason was California the punishment is life in prison or death. But one particle state I find was Texas that have a special article of treason and the representative, senators, and congress representatives shall be exempt from this crime. Oregon and the federal law looks the same with the exception of the punishment.
California is a unique state that is the most populated. Sometimes state and national leaders differ over California's management. Maddees become worse when determining financial responsibility for costly issues.
William Seward's proposal of the Alaskan Purchase sparked many different opinions on the matter. Most citizens are looking at Alaska as a poor decision. However many people see the benefits that Alaska can provide. Alaska lands have a wide abundance of natural resources, also not many residents. Using the natural resources could have a great impact on the Revolutionary side of the country, improving the need for resources in most businesses. Alaska would also open up many land areas to the U.S. that could benefit Military wise. Although Alaska would be the first U.S. territory that did not border the continent.
I think that the whites treated the existing groups unfairly because the Settlers thought there wouldn't be enough land for them. Hispanics were using a great amount of land for their ranches. The whites wouldn't have enough land for wide scale farming that they envisioned for themselves.
SSI recipients get a check every month from Social Security Administration. That check amount currently is 889.40, consisting of $733 from the federal government and $156 that is supplemented from the state of California. Over the last fifteen years, the state of California has made some decisions that have affected the amount it supplements drastically in order to save the state some money. In 2009, the SSP was cut from 233 to 171 for single adults. in 2011 the state made cut the portion they provide from $171 to $156. In a two year span the state of California eliminate $77 from people budgets. The state also decided to mess with the Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) that are given yearly. Starting in the year 2001, the state passed the
“Losing Alaska” narrator in the podcast stated that “The debate about climate change is not about science but about human behavior”. I consider “sacrifice and relationship” the intersection between climate change and human behavior. It was also mentioned in the podcast interview that “Divide’s on climate change is not scientific facts but social interaction”. When people notice that they are personally being affected by climate change in such a negative way whether it be financially or physically I am sure that the effect will cause them to observe their personal relationship and actions with the environment around them.
Deanna-Marie, I completely agree with your point of view, and as I explained in post, many individuals choose to live in the state Alaska, not only for the beauty of its nature, but mainly for its economic advantages. For example, a close friend of mine told me how with her two daughters, she had sometimes received more than 10,000 dollars in the annual dividend check. I think it is time for the citizens of Alaska help their state by contributing with some personal taxes. The situation would normalize in the future when oil prices rise
Moving is common to do among people, but moving to a different state is nerve wracking. I was sad to know I was leaving my home behind for good. But I was even more excited to see what my future held in Colorado. There was nothing to do in Arizona and no one to hang out with. Moving state is a very important turning point in my life.
It was hard as a teenager being forced out of are home. We were forced out our home because Anderson signed the Removal Act on May 28 in 1830. We started our move to Kansas on October 8 1840. We had to walk 800 to 1200 miles all the way to a place we didn't know. We only had so much food when it was gone we had to hunt for food or starve. Many many kids, parents, and grandparents died of starvation or freezing.
Transcendent means beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience. I think people would go to the Alaskan wilderness to find a deeper meaning in their life because they want to transcend into another stage in their life. The wilderness can be a great place to do that because it is isolated from society. Also you are one on one with nature and the wild is your playground. Noone is there to stop you or hold you back. All your thoughts are able to manifest freely. To reach that transcendent state requires sacrifices. Such as moving from society or your family. These things are needed because you are trying to dig deep inside yourself and while you do that you can’t be worried about the things around you. All distractions

Because I live in America, am I free? Well, maybe not. This is a complicated question to answer and a question that has different answers dependent on who you ask. Freedom has many forms. There are our fundamental freedoms like freedom of speech, the freedom to worship the religion we choose, freedom of the press and assembly as stated in the Declaration of Independence. These are our freedoms as United States citizens that no one can take away from us. Then there are things that we think should be freedoms for everyone in this country but are not. Things like prejudice, bullying, slavery, poverty and crime keep us from the true freedom we all deserve.
The world, as we know it, is in the midst of having an oil crisis. Our nation starves and bends at the will of this dreadful calamity. Our deprivation for this atrocious corruption has led us to look for oil deposits in the Alaskan Wilderness. The US needs oil and by drilling for oil on our own land, we would help our economy, but in doing so would destroy the beauty of the wilderness and harm many others. The matter on hand is that should we drill for oil in Alaska’s wilderness? My opinion and answer to this question would simply be no. The United States of America should not drill for oil in the Alaskan wilderness.
"Climate change is a change in the statistical properties of the climate system that persists for several decades or longer" (Montgomery, 2015). Climate change (or global warming) can be caused by a natural progress such as sun 's radiations and volcanoes, or it can be caused by human 's actions such as land use, deforestation, and pollution. (Hardy, 2003).This phenomenon not only affects the environment, but it also affects human lives. Alaska is the largest state in the United States. It includes lands on both sides of the Arctic Circle. Sixteen national wildlife refuges are home to a great variety of flora and fauna. In the past 60 years. The Alaska 's environment changed drastically; the climate is warming up as twice as much in comparison to all the other states. This essay will discuss firstly the climate change in the Alaskan environment. Then it will highlight the changes in the ocean and costs, the effects that global warming is having on Alaska 's natives and the melting permafrost. It will then finally address who is responsible for this effects and some measures that can be taken.
