personally believe geoengineering could be a controversy which can result of being good and bad. Therefore we can combat global warming by controlling the amounts of substances by the chemical element of atomic being straight into the atmosphere, it could result of canceling out the glob warming effects. If not maybe at least the high tempters would decree. Furthermore by achieving and controlling the amounts of dioxide, we could transform aerosols which they would be in charge of reflecting all the light back to space. This process of global warming is being presented because of the causes of carbon dioxide being cause manly from humans. As humans we need to help ourselves by helping the earth. For example we could rid our bakes instead of
First of all, the main effect of global warming is the fact that it causes warmer temperatures. While warmer temperatures may seem beneficial and good, the ways the atmosphere is becoming warmer isn’t that great. According to the article, Global warming, it states, “Natural processes on Earth constantly create and destroy greenhouse gases.” “Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, add an extra seven billion metric tons per year” (“Global Warming”). To explain, what this shows is that nature is already creating greenhouse gasses and people are adding even more to the atmosphere. While people strive on greenhouse gasses for warmth, the amount of greenhouse gasses forming will cause numerous environmental hazards in the future.
Global warming is when there is too much c02 output, and the suns rays get stuck inside the atmosphere which ultimately heats up the planet or cools it down way too much. This affects the hydrosphere because the ice caps melt, and it raises the sea level. It affects the atmosphere because there is too much c02 in it. This is bad for the plants on the lithosphere because they cannot grow in that heat, and then animals also get too hot and don’t have enough food. When the icecaps melt, it also decreases the amount of available freshwater, and just mixes it all in with the ocean. A good way to stop this environmental hazard is to use green energy. Instead of burning coal and natural gas, we can use more wind turbines, hydro-electric dams and other green electricity options. We also need to research solar panels more, so we can make them more efficiant. If we start to do this, the c02 outtake would be significantly decreased and the world will be a better place to live
One of the solutions is geoengineering. It’s considerably cheap that even middle-income countries could utilize it single-handed. This shows that geoengineering could possibly help, but in order for it to work, all greenhouse gases must be removed from the earth’s atmosphere. Porter mentions how figuring out how to combat global warming on the cheap side is difficult due to the fact we continue on to exploit fossil fuels. The final thing Porter mentions is how the worst case for the deployment of geoengineering is the possible threat of a nuclear war. The thought of war is a terrifying subject, making the reader feel compelled to learn more about global warming, and thinking of possible ways to educate others. When arguments are convincing, it makes it hard for the readers to
The very first court-ordered case of desegregation in school occur in New Rochelle. The Board of Education was sued for the gerrymander of the elementary schools and creating a de facto school for black children, Lincoln Elementary School. The United States Supreme Court rejected certiorari- where a higher court reviews the decision of a lower court- and let stand the adjudication of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in 1962. The Court of Appeals declared that the Lincoln School District boundaries were designed to segregate the New Rochelle elementary schools. In 1965, the Lincoln Elementary School was shut down and destroyed, eliminating not only building, but also an essential time in the history of New
My beliefs upon global warming is that it is a very serious matter that should not be taken lightly. I chose global warming as the topic of my research paper to raise awareness of the deadly effects that the Earth’s warming can cause. Many people go about their day not realizing how much energy they are omitting and how much of that energy contributes to the growth of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It should be the duty of every individual to recognize their involvement in the Earth’s warming and what they can do to reduce it. I personally believe that the Earth provides for living organisms but it should not be taken for granted. With many years of drilling for fossil fuels and polluting the Earth I believe it is well overdue
I can definitely agree with you that employers can control the cost of health care.
This webpage describes in detail about every geoengineering. It was a wonderful picture to show the locations where the geoengineering can be used. It also talks about the consequences that will occur if we don’t take action in stopping climate change.
Global warming has become a world wide issue and an issue that is causing great controversy. It is an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution (Dictionary). Global warming is a natural process, but because of increase in certain activities this process is taking a faster and more dangerous route creating global problems. Global warming was first theorized in 1894 by Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier a French mathematician, who noticed the earth was gradually increasing in temperature. He came to the conclusion that the earth’s atmosphere was trapping solar radiation caused by the sun and reflecting this radiation back to
Indeed, if we accept the danger of global warming to be a real and present one, then the question of how to address it must be given serious consideration. Research conducted from as early as the 1950s through the present has afforded us a solid understanding of its causes. In the most basic sense, the problem lies in the burning of carbon-based fossil fuels such as carbon and oil which leads to the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2). Gases such as CO2 are referred to as greenhouse gases (GHGs) which accumulate in the atmosphere. GHGs can
The Global Warming theory has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Citizens of the world are being encouraged to be more environmentally conscious by others including politicians, celebrities, and world organizations. The problem with the theory lies in the fact that it has become more and more controversial as it gains publicity and attention. The basic concept behind this theory is that the earth was made with a balance of “greenhouse gasses”. These gasses are naturally occurring within the atmosphere and they essentially make the planet habitable by keeping it warm.
Global Warming is a major world problem that we have but people don’t seem to realize that and it may end all life on earth as we know it. We are causing many problems to the earth that we don’t realize what we are doing we may think everything is ok but it’s not. Global warming is all our fault and we need to stop!
The naysayers see nothing but risks when analyzing geoengineering. An article in Nature discusses the risks of injecting aerosols into the stratosphere to combat global warming and says they have been underestimated. (Keller, 2011) Some have proposed that adding fine particles and liquid droplets, which reflect heat, to the atmosphere could postpone the need for deep cuts to carbon emissions. But by modelling the economic effects of substituting aerosol injections for carbon cuts, the researchers show that potentially damaging side- effects of the aerosols — such as depletion of polar ozone and changes in precipitation patterns — could easily wipe out any benefit. Since aerosols disappear quickly whereas greenhouse gases linger, Earth could face even more abrupt and costly climatic change if any aerosol injections were interrupted by, for example, war or the breakdown of international pacts. Toby Svoboda, 2012, compares the different methods we can use for geoengineering the climate and which would be the most plausible with the least amount of direct repercussions. Aerosol Geoengineering (AG), is favored by many scientists as they found it to be fast (Keith, Parson, and Morgan 2010), and the most inexpensive (Barrett 2008), and has the capacity of diminishing some harmful impacts of climate change (MacCracken 2009). Svoboda found that there were some disadvantages, such as ocean acidification. Since AG only works on global cooling, it does not alleviate the problem of CO2.
There is a serious situation is occurring on planet Earth that is causing a significant and harmful effect on communities, health, and the climate. It is Global Warming which can be defined as the constant heating of Earth 's surface, oceans and atmosphere. In order to understand global warming, the most important basic is to figure out how the of greenhouse effect plays an important part in its development. The greenhouse effect is caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) that trap heat in the atmosphere that keeps the Earth warm. The information this text will discuss is the meaning of global warming, the causes, and most importantly how citizens can help to rectify the situation. Humanity must tickle this problem immediately before the consequences increase and affect the entire planet.
The Earth is a dynamic, constantly changing environment in which the hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere all interact. When one changes slightly the change is then felt through out the spheres. Humans need to understand that the change they cause can have a potential for a disastrous affect on the environment. From injecting the atmosphere with greenhouse gas, or deforestation, all the unnatural things done to the environment will have an unnatural affect that will have to be dealt with. We as humans have a moral responsibility to reduce global warming gasses by changing our modes of transportation, to stop deforestation, and increase government funding into research to inhibit global warming for
Although some believe that Global Warming has been created due to manmade pollutants, I believe that Global Warming is a natural process that has been accelerated due to the excess emissions of pollutants from nature and manmade devices into the atmosphere. The world has been said to be on a cycle of global warming and cooling, this process can neither be stopped nor prevented, but it can be accelerated with the addition of non-natural emissions from automobiles and factories; because this is a natural process, even if constraints were to be put on the amount of pollutants released into the air global warming could not be prevented—it could only be slowed. When the inevitable happens and global warming occurs, there are many
