The code of Ethics I follow in my profession are the ones laid out by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Commission on Private Security. In order to be able to support a code of ethics, each member of the profession or organization must be willing to observe and adopt the code as a way to conduct business and handle themselves in the profession. In the profession at some time you may have to make a decision to protect life or property of the person whom you are tasked with providing protection services to. It is not a task to be taken likely. The Texas Commission on Private Security gives the guidance in the ethical code as simply to accept my responsibilities and to fulfill the obligations of my role, to protect life and property, reduce and preventing crimes against my employers business or interest I am assigned to protect and uphold the law and respect the constitutional rights of all persons (Code of Ethics, 2017). The most important aspect of being a professional security officer comes down to conducting myself professionally at all times and to always perform my duties in a manner that reflects credit upon myself, my employer, and the private security industry. Besides the two principals I discussed above, the principal of justice and fairness and the principal of individual freedoms can be applied to the professional security officer code of ethics. A code of ethics is a set of guidelines that are designed to set out acceptable behaviors for different profession it is also necessary in order to maintain instruction and guidance for professionals working in collaboration with other professionals. The codes of ethics for counselors, psychologists, social workers, and human service professionals are different in comparison to each particular profession. Ahi employee’s plan is not part of the CPA competencies in regards to taxation; the activity does not seem to be consistent with the CPA’s role.
