A thoughtful statement answering the question, "Why do I think I am suited to the field of professional counseling?"
As an extrovert, wherever I see people, I become eager to connect with them. If, they need help and care, I provide myself to talk to these people, I offer myself to provide them a time of empathy, wisdom and encouragement. I have always been engaged in active conversations with people on the seminary campus. Whether I am serving as the Resident Assistant or simply buying food from the café, I reach out to people that are either curious to talk to me or by chance bump into me. I usually initiate a friendly conversation with the Northwestern students and they often ask me to join them for meals at the café. This further helps me enter into and break their tiny circles, introduce myself to all new faces, and get to know them, their personalities and, learn their way of thinking, feelings and comfort level.

I was never to look down on or to discriminate against anyone. I became convinced that all humans are entitled to equal social privileges and to the right to enjoy life to its fullest. However, because of religious and socioeconomic variations, some people are oppressed and subjugated and are not viewed as equal members of society. I do not agree with the philosophy of social classism. I want to help those whom society mistreated gain a sense of wholeness, freedom and autonomy. At my current field education placement, I have realized that I have a potential to become a professional counselor. The same has been affirmed by my program advisor and my field education site
