Throughout I am Princess X there are four major sections that you go through: The introduction of the characters and the discovery of the webcomic, the discovery of the first key and the truth about the Needle Man’s daughter, the discovery of the second key and the identity of who the Needle Man is in the real world, and the finding of the third and fourth key. The fourth key being the final piece to the puzzle: Libby Deaton. The first section, the introduction of the setting and characters, lasts for about four chapters. In these chapters you meet May Harper, the protagonist of the story. We learn how May and Libby, May’s best friend, created a comic in the fifth grade featuring a warrior princess named Princess X. Libby drew the pictures and May wrote the stories, and Princess X would fight the monsters and ghosts they created together. A few years later Libby was driving over a bridge one rainy night, when the car went over the bridge. The night that Libby and her mom died, Princess X died right along with her. Three years later a lonely May discovers an online webcomic featuring none other than Princess X! May is convinced that Libby survived because who else could have written the comic? As May reads the comic she discovers that the comic tells the story of Libby’s death, only different. In the comic there was a villain, the Needle Man, who killed Libby’s …show more content…
Now, in the comic, it explains that there are four keys that Princess X has to find in order to reunite her kingdom again. In the passage, Elizabeth Takes the Reins, by Dorothy Canfield Fisher, the author has the main character, Elizabeth Ann, presented in a sympathetic way. First, Fisher tries to make the reader feel bad for Elizabeth Ann. Second, the author shows that she feels bad for Elizabeth Ann. Lastly, she uses strong words to emphasize Elizabeth Ann’s troubles.
To convey my point i will start by talking about imagery. The beginning of the story painted and image of wonder and adventure. Jeanette always talked of exploring the desert and finding gorgeous rocks. Jeanette and Brian would go into the desert at dawn and would not return until they would fill their pockets up with tons
James Poniewozik of "The Princess Paradox" and Catherine Orenstein of "Fairy Tales and a Dose of Reality" focus their writing around modern day fairy tales. Both authors describe that media has the prioritization of wealth in mind and alters the fairy tales to appeal to the audience. Orenstein focuses on the changes of some reality television shows reflecting based off of the initial fairy tales. (284).While Poniewozik focuses on the changes movie makers have made, by making a new type of "Cinderella" who is strong and independent but still wanting a "happily ever after"(324).
In the beginning of the novel, Princess Alyss is characterized as mischievous, endearing, and naive. Alyss loves to play pranks such as “dropping jollyjellies from an open window and watching them splat on the guards below” (Beddor 11). Instead of behaving like a proper princess, she prefers getting into trouble with her best friend, Dodge. However, her pranks are never mean spirited; Alyss just enjoys having fun. Although Alyss is mischievous, her father finds Alyss to be a “delightful creature” (19). Besides her parents, other adults who even sometimes find themselves as Alyss’s targets, such as Bibwit Harte, find Alyss to be endearing. They appreciate her playfulness and are charmed by her. Since Alyss is so accustomed to people loving her, she barely questions, “Where did you come from?” when a kitten randomly appears as a birthday present for her (41). Alyss is naive and never suspects that anyone would want to hurt her and her family. She is easily tricked into bringing The Cat into the palace. Despite her faults, Alyss is loved by many, but her sheltered life has left her vulnerable to The Cat and his master, Redd.

As a spectator of the play, with no foreknown knowledge of its content, I enjoyed the play. It had many comedic components.
Authors James Poniewozik and Peggy Orenstein are both concerned with the increase of princess culture among young girls. Poniewozik’s article “The Princess Paradox” and Orenstein's article “Cinderella and Princess Culture” discuss similar aspects of princess culture that could be potentially harmful to it’s audience. Both Poniewozik and Orenstein take on a feminist perspective in their articles. Specifically, both authors discuss feminist themes in princess culture but Orenstein focuses on toddler to pre-teen aged girls while Poniewozik is more concerned with specifically teenagers.

“If we cut up beasts simply because they cannot prevent us and because we are backing our own side in the struggle for existence, it is only logical to cut up imbeciles, criminals, enemies, or capitalists for the same reasons” (Lewis, Page Unknown). When C.S Lewis wrote this in an essay on ethics, of which eugenics is a highly debated topic, eugenics was an uprising idea that many members of the intelligentsia agreed with. Eugenics is the idea of controlling human breeding, an idea that is highly controversial and typically looked down upon, but is rising in the modern era. Some groups are being forced to use in vitro fertilization to avoid disease; quite a contrast to the idea that science may be going pushing its limits, as presented in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. On the other hand, akin to Victor Frankenstein’s ideas, many groups may be amplifying the eugenics movement when they prescreen births.

Peering into the treasure chest, a small gasp slipped out of Belle’s mouth as she began to see the truth about her friends. Laying on a crimson cloth was a book titled “Cinderella”. Overcome at the gruesome, gory details of this version, Belle quickly slammed the
The director Miyazaki utilizes both physical and visual elements as represented by the characters, in order to communicate and individualize unique character traits and contrasting personalities. Miyazaki’s placing emphasis on character development is a significant aspect of not only the narrative, but also asserts how each gender is represented in a different way.
