Imagine trying to kill an almost indestructible swarm of tiny, murderous robots. This is what Jack is faced with in the novel Prey by Michael Crichton. Jack, the protagonist and narrator, was a software programmer for a company called Media Tronics, until he discovered that his boss had been stealing from and was cheating the company. His attorney told him that he should try to leave the company immediately, but instead Jack went to a board member. The board member, also being in on the indiscretion, got Jack fired for gross negligence. That led to Jack becoming a stay at home dad for his three children, Nicole, Eric, and Amanda. Meanwhile, Jack’s wife was the vice president for a company named Xygos. His wife, Julia, started to become cold towards him and the children, and he started to suspect that she was having an affair. Jack and Mae soon discover everyone in the plant has been infected by the nanobot swarm except themselves. Instead of these nanobots showing predatory behavior, they control their hosts, slowing eating at them and creating more nanobots. Jack and Mae discover and drink a type of E-coli destroying phage, protecting them from infection. Jack then takes the phage and puts it in the sprinklers, planning to drench the infected team. The team captures Jack and throws him into a magnetic chamber, threatening to destroy him. Julia enters to interrogate Jack, and, remembering Amanda’s recovery, he activates the chamber which pulls the swarm out of her body. One night when Julia came home, she was all worked up because she wanted to show Jack a demo track. This demo tracked showed the project she and others have been working on at work. This little taped showed what was apparently going on in this laboratory and Jack definitely wanted to watch. The tape began with a new revolutionary camera that can actually go inside a person 's bloodstream because of the tiny nanoparticles it is made up of being so small. The tape continues on to show Julia and the other coworkers putting an IV into some man 's arm with his back laying on the gurney. The setting looked like an operation room with monitors all around and a video technician by Julia 's side. As Jack watched with a shock to see the behind the scenes of all of it and had many questions he wondered and wanted to ask Julia. This is where Julia slightly hinted about the cameras being able to form a swarm. Little did Jack know was that these small cameras can 't operate in the wind and that Xymos had sent one of these swarms out in the desert to see if we would adapt to the outside world, only to be become a flesh
Julia and Bob were furious and blantly demanded for their son, however Rye had no idea where Charles was. Bob and Julia went to the police station and asked for an investigation for their son. The police officers claimed that an investigation would take a very long time as technology was banned in the society. Charles parents, however, made sure that an investigation was put in place and put missing posters all throughout District Zombie. On the other hand, Charles did not know where he was and was trembling at the sight of mysterious sounds and gloomy weather. Charles gasped as he realized he had entered District Spider, the most scary and absolutely mortifying district to live in. He did not know where to go and was as hushed as a mouse. Although Charles was very focused on what he wanted to do, a spider had crawled its way to his leg. He felt a sharp sting and immediately fell towards the ground. The last thing he heard before waking up were the blaring sounds of a truck taking him to a place where everyone was wearing blue jackets with something around their neck. He was confused as he did not recognize the place he was in. Then they found a place to rent across town for $1,600 a month. Julie liked the place, but she had a close neighbor who would say she had a headache and bring her four-year-old over to play all the time. Julie had the three boys of her own and felt this woman was using her. After a year, there they found a house to rent. They had one bedroom for themselves and one for the three boys. Some military planes fight above the island and the boys do not notice. A dead parachutist falls on the signal fire mountain. Sam and Eric are asleep and do not see the parachutist land. When they wake up they see the silhouette of the parachute and hear the strange noises it makes. Thinking it is the beast, they run back to the camp and report that the beast has attacked them. The boys go on a hunt to search for the monster. Jack and Ralph travel up the mountain. They see the silhouette of the parachute from a distance and think that it looks like an ape. The group has a meeting at which Jack and Ralph tell the others what they saw. Jack says that Ralph is an afraid and that he should be removed from office. The boys refuse to vote Ralph out. Jack runs away calling the hunters to join him. The remaining boys build a new signal fire on the beach. They do, but most of them have fled to join Jack. Jack declares himself the leader of the new tribe of hunters. They hunt and slaughter a pig. The hunters then decapitate the pig and place its head on a stake in the jungle as an offering to the beast. Simon meets the head and has a vision. The voice says that it exists within all
When Jack comes into contact with the “monster” he is very sacred. Him and all of the kids run as fast as they can away. They run so much that kids run through different obstacles like prickle bushes and rocks. The kids then start to worry that those kids were hurt were hit from the “monster” when actually they were only hit by the bushes.

The White Tiger is a novel, in which Aravind Adiga deals with the issue of class and caste difference. The narrative attempts to highlight struggle and exploitation of the common and poor strata of society of India. It is in that sense it is a realistic novel identifying and reflecting over the burning issues of the society. Through the psycho realistic narrative the author presents the gloomier picture of the rural life at the protagonist’s native, Laxmangarh. The protagonist is an aspirant of becoming entrepreneur, narrates his past in a conversation with an interlocutor, a Chinese premier, Mr. Wen Jiabao. Balram’s past reveals his poverty and unemployment at his native. He also narrates his village life style and growing need of financial security to his family for which he shifts to the Light i.e. city, New Delhi. After migrating to an urban area he is exploited by overburdened work in the Stork’s family where he performs all sorts of house work alongside his main duty of chauffeur. But through this struggle he finally plans to overcome his status. He believes and propagates the socialist ideology. The paper explores and criticizes the capitalistic ideology having more self centeredness and utilitarianism which has its repercussions of class and caste conflict, unequal distribution of wealth and exploitation.

Leading up to this moment the emotional depth Mabel and Jack had reached together was the equivalent of Sylvester Stallone’s: shallow and a little slurred. While Mabel is constantly affiliated with feelings of depression, isolation, and guilt Jack finds himself emotionally isolated, preferring to focus on his work and responsibility. This lack of communication creates a deep emotional rift between the two especially concerning the death of their first born. Mabel’s guilt stems from the fact she never looked at her child or was present when it was buried, she feels that the doubt she felt about being a mother is what killed the child. Jack on the other hand buried the baby but doesn't speak of it and wasn't emotionally present to help Mabel
However, Hatfield blames Jack for messing with the timer which leads to a back and forth argument. Although Jack keeps his calm, he really wants to explode on him. Afterwards, Jack catches Hatfield slashing his car tires, which sent him into a violent rage, where he lost his teaching job. The Overlook hotel spirits and entities use that as leverage since Jack is bitter, angry and feels a lot of guilt about that situation which turned his life into a downward spiral. Jack finds a beehive where he eradicates the wasps and gives it to his son. Danny hangs the beehive in his room and is eventually attacked by the wasps coming out the hive. Jack is a caring person with a normal personality, although, he gradually begins to fade to insanity.

On their way to the blood clot, the crew is in a bit of trouble. Grant, with his quick thinking saves the Proteus and the crew. Since there were so much incredible tasks they had to endure, Grant is well aware that there is a saboteur. Once they finally get to the blood clot, Dr. Duval gets out of the sub and starts using a laser on it. Grant and Cora get out of the ship too, so that they could get a look at it. While everyone is distracted, Dr. Michaels takes control of the sub out of Captain Owens hands and tries to bump it into a nerve. Grant is the first one to see it and he shoots the sub’s rudders. Captain Owens is then saved by Grant. The sub is then destroyed by white blood cells while Dr. Michaels is still inside. The rest of the crew escapes though the eye of Benes with the destroyed Proteus. Just as they escape, they begin to grow to their normal
After spending the majority of his life in Room with only Ma to keep him company and take care of him, Jack believes that he is a part of his mother, and that he cannot survive without her. When he sees a spider web, he decides not to tell Ma about it, and explains. Jack describes how he feels that he does not have a distinct identity; everything about him is determined by his mother and her characteristics, rather than his own. However, as the story progresses, Jack is forced to create relationships with other family members and become independent from Ma. As a consequence of the weeks he spends apart from her, Jack is able to acknowledge that he is his own person.
