Presentation Report
As per the Assessment Task 4 requirement for the presentation with individual written report, myself Ashma, Ivan and Sean were allocated as a ‘group 2’ participants. Our topic for the group presentation was ‘Measurement Issues’ which was performed by us on week 5 on our respective tutorial class. We, three divided our presentation tasks in 3 parts where I was assigned to speak and present my performance at first half, Ivan supported and justified his arguments on the second half and further, on the last half Sean mentioned his issues and brought the presentation in to the conclusion. My first part in the presentation was to speak and provide information about our topic i.e.

The word ‘Measurement’ is an often used term in the field of mathematics, science, technology, quantitative research and many more other disciplines. Measurement can simply be understood as the process of measuring, quantifying or estimating something in monetary terms. The most commonly measurement units used in general are kilogram, metre, candela, mole, second, ampere and kelvin. However, in accounting field measurement has its own specific definition which means that it is a process of determining the monetary amounts by recognising the elements of the financial statements and carrying them in the income statement and balance sheet. In the presentation, I described about the measurement definition, mixed measurement model, advantages and disadvantages of measurement models, identification of different measurement models, brief definition of the models - historical cost, current cost, fair value, present value and deprival value, explanation of the principles of measurement and also I used the examples of the biological assets to provide information on how measurement model are selected to measure the assets or liabilities. Before selecting a measurement model for the assets/liabilities, various considerations are adopted like focussing on advantages or disadvantages of the model, its
In 1-3 sentences, in your opinion, what was the single most important point of this week's readings, and why do you feel that was the most important point?
Students are advised to present as if they are presenting to a client. The criteria used to mark students is being able to explain the key topic thoroughly and having excellent presentation skills. Over the weeks, I watched several presentations and the mistakes that other students made include not adhering to the time limit, not being creative and not having group coordination. As a result, my tutor gave feedback and provided solutions for each mistake. Along with the feedback from other groups, I believe I have learned how to present effectively.
The type of audience that will be attending my presentation will be people in my particular age group. Also clients that might be interested in hearing the presentation. The particular information I will be providing and presenting to the particular audience will be, pitching my future self to the audience after my journey in graduating Full Sail University. The first part of the assessment requires you to develop a plan for both of your presentations.
One was team, one will be the individual. To be honest, I have never done any form of presentation before in my school life. The reason is that I come from China which is a totally different country. We have another education mode in my country, there is always no need to do presentations or projects in school work. And now, I have outcome my edge. I have discussed with my teacher and group members about creating an interesting and meaningful presentation. Then, we made it, and I was proud of myself and all my team members. Doing business is my dream, and the first presentation was about setting up a company in a specific community. I believe this topic was
The learning experience with a group was effective in a way that the tasks were divided among four of us. The task was divided in a way that each one of us was responsible for the research of required information. Research was divided into statistic, case study, sign and symptoms, risk factors and prevention measures. All five of us picked one topic to research. My role in the team was to find the supporting information regarding symptoms. Nevertheless, we worked in a team to find all the required information needed to support our presentation.
To analyse the presentation and teamwork I need to be able to understand everyone has different experiences and different ways of working and had their own view on teamwork. My confidence grew as I got to know the team. Giving the presentation has helped me with my confidence, which I will need when I am working in the health care. I have also learned to speak up more and encourage others to take part when they where being quiet and not pulling their weight. It was good to do research using the appropriate methods, looking at journals and professional sites. I managed to hold it together during the presentation in front of everyone. I knew the presentation was not going to go as well has it could due to the lack of practice. The reason I was so nervous was
Audience characteristics and how the presentation needs to be geared to meet this – include how you will cater for a multicultural audience for your group presentation
Hopefully, we would get a wide point of view to the case. Happily, it was worked out. We collected the problems and everyone got certain problems to look for more information. I, myself, got to check out more for health insurance and law matters. Also, we had second meeting to discuss about the report and presentation. At the meeting, we decided to give one or two topics each. Everyone got the same chance to get the topics. Due to I got an introduction only, therefore, I had to help other pals. In addition, I offered myself to edit the report and hope for the others’ contribution as well. At the end of the meeting everyone was told to send their parts to me, and we would have an online meeting. Also, the part that we got at the day would be, automatically, his or her responsibility for the presentation. This was a very interesting and incredible group.
With reference to the Conceptual Framework, when preparing the financial statement, using the measurement bases include historical cost, current cost, present value and fair value is called a mixed measurement approach (Rankin, M., Stanton, P., McGowan, S., Ferlauto, K & Tilling, M., 2012).
How many times have you crossed your fingers in class with a racing heart, hoping that the next assignment wouldn’t be an oral presentation? What about sweaty palms and those butterflies you feel in your stomach right before it’s your turn to present, ever felt those? I certainly have, and that crippling anxiety along with the fear of rejection that you have to deal with when speaking in front of an audience is exactly why I believe students shouldn’t be forced into that situation just to receive good grades. Why force students into doing something that makes them uncomfortable when they could show their understanding through other means in the first place?
Accounting is the art of measuring and communicating financial information. To maintain uniformity and consistency in preparing and maintaining books of accounts, certain rules or principles have been evolved. These rules or principles are classified as concepts and conventions. One of the important concept in accounting is “Measurement” (Mattessich, 1977)
The following is an outline of the how the Presentations are expected to be conducted depending on the LEVEL.
