Through using R, we have created a set of models that help to predict the likelihood of a customer churning. By working together in the analysis stage we were able to ‘bounce’ ideas off one another and grasp a further understanding of the data and customer churn. We created two different models: modelling for predictive accuracy and modelling for explanatory power. What is our team structure? In the group we have four team members that consists of three males and one female; Ryan Campion, Samuel O’Connell, Hunter Stewart, and myself, Hannah Lowe. We’ve all worked really well together. Everyone has contributed and we have managed to meet the allocated times set to doing this assignment. There has been no group issues, or any person putting in any less effort than the other. In the analysis stage we tackled it as a group: we didn’t work as individuals. We worked on one computer and used the lab work we had done prior to aid us with our models. The reason for this is that we were confused slightly as how to read the models from the start; by discussing it with one another we were able to grasp a better concept of what we were looking for. In the reporting stage we all worked independently, within our own time frame. There was a discussion on the findings from the data, which is in our reports, but in our own words. The presentation was worked on collectively. I organised the parts that were to be discussed, these areas were the distributed to other members. We all wrote
on Wednesday, I attended a meeting with the team work to see if they got any suppliers to cooperate with them or if they need any help, since they divided the work among them that’s don’t mean they won’t ask for help from the any member. That’s show how those teams work together and all should be connected with each other because if one of the team members didn’t work the whole project will fail and won’t submit it in the deadline.
This project in general was kind of fun. It’s better than some of the past assignments we've had. So it might be interesting if we had future assignments similar to this, because it involves a group & I like group work, because it gets done faster. My group was fair and on task. All of us did what we had to do, because we all care about grade. Since we all care about grade a lot, we completely focused on the assignment. No one was ever off task, and that was good, because we needed to get this assignment done. Another good things is, we never argued. I’m glad this happened, because if it did we would have never finished and that would have been bad. Throughout the whole assignment my group and I had perfect communication skills with one another
The beginning of the assignment started off bad but ended on a positive note. As the deadline drew closer, the group members were forced to find a common ground in regards to the specific time the group discussions would be conducted. To address the lack of communication, Marcelo, one of the group members, laid out the goal we needed to complete. After this was done the project fell into place and was competed on
On Tuesday, Wena and I continue to work on group oral presentation; Allysa was working on the technical report. We continued to work on our jobs/roles.
Overall, this group project went very well and was completed on time due to the fact there everyone including myself assigned ourselves with a task role, relational role and from the start had individual roles present such as leader, compromiser, and gatekeepers in the group that made it
Assessment at the team level considers team communications, dynamics, and ability to reach consensus as meetings. For that matter, the amount of work completed and the cycle time for the entire process are evaluated as part of the assessment exercise. On the other hand, assessment at the individual team member level considers how the individual cooperates with other team members, communicates his or her ideas and opinions, and participates in team activities. In this case, the number of viable ideas that the individual presented is determined, accuracy considered, and turn-around time for completion of a unit of work factored. Thus, I learnt that team analysis can be conducted from the team or individual member perspective. The knowledge I acquired from this module will stand me in good stead with the six-week practice placement when I will be required to work within teams (Peacock 2006).
Another group challenge we experienced was putting the first proposal together as we all have different methods of writing and explaining our topic. We each wrote a part of the paper and combined the input from each team member to created our final proposal. In addition, we took turns editing the document to assure the paper was flowing and all grammatical errors were
The group I have been working with currently is the group I used in doing the self-assessment in chapter eight. I scored an eleven which is in the effective teamwork category. This group is a group of three married couple, all who are officers (pastors) of The Salvation Army. Lussier, & Achua stated in their book that all teams are groups, but not all groups are teams. (2013, p.278) Our group is definitely a team working with the common goal to run a week long bible/leadership camp. Each of us has been put in charge of different areas of this camp, such as; decorations, music, snacks, bible studies, and devotionals. Collective as a group we all live hours away from each other, one couple lives in North Platte, Cape Girardeau, and Detroit.
At first we all planned on working on slides individually but once we got ours done, then we would ask the others if they needed help. So in the end we all contributed to the powerpoint
In the past few weeks, Shubhankar Bera, Christopher pan, Luke Cartwright and I worked together on our group case study: Ed Hardy. The purpose of this report is to illustrate how our group worked as a team. There are 3 important points will be focusing on this report, contribution from each group member, how the group worked as a team, skills and attributes I have gained from group members and myself reflection as a team member.
b) Each group member contributed equally to the discussion. Victoria typed up the notes and participated in the discussion of the broader topics. Mickey
This is a team-based writing assignment. My strongly preferred team size is four, but I will consider team sizes of three or five on a case-by-case basis. Your assignment is to
Our team comprised of four members; Emily, Cileena, Chelsea and I. We were all delegated with an individual role each term and I was designated team leader for the first term for our group. I felt at the time that this role did not suit me as I am the type of person who is more on the shy side. In addition, the course had just begun so I was relatively unsure of how the course was handled which also affected my ability to serve as the team leader to the best of my capabilities. During the first term, our team responsibility was the evaluation team. We created a well planned and carefully executed evaluation rubric to assess each group’s performance. The start of this term was when the phases of group development initiated. The first stage of any group is forming (Harris and Sherblom, 2010, p. 58). At this time, we were all still getting to know each other and were uncertain upon one another
Teamwork is the joint action by a group to complete a given task. This was displayed by group 20 as each member contributed their individual knowledge and skills towards the team as well as the course objective.
Hopefully, we would get a wide point of view to the case. Happily, it was worked out. We collected the problems and everyone got certain problems to look for more information. I, myself, got to check out more for health insurance and law matters. Also, we had second meeting to discuss about the report and presentation. At the meeting, we decided to give one or two topics each. Everyone got the same chance to get the topics. Due to I got an introduction only, therefore, I had to help other pals. In addition, I offered myself to edit the report and hope for the others’ contribution as well. At the end of the meeting everyone was told to send their parts to me, and we would have an online meeting. Also, the part that we got at the day would be, automatically, his or her responsibility for the presentation. This was a very interesting and incredible group.
