McDonald's, and Starbucks combined number of stores around the world total to about 65,000 stores. This amount is more than the population of some countries! Globalization is the increased interdependence of countries/nations around the world. Globalization has impacted economics, politics, and society in many positive and negative ways, but more positive ways.
Globalization can be both positive and negative regarding economics. For example, today the process of transporting a single t-shirt is reduced to about $0.07! (Planet Money, Boxes Chapter). Globalization has made costs a lot cheaper around the world. Due to advancements in technology shared, the process cost is being cut by a lot of money. This is very positive because it means that making a t-shirt is cheaper and more efficient. But, economics can be impacted negatively too! Due to outsourcing, there are many fewer jobs available in the United States (Friedman video). Companies are taking jobs once available in the US, and giving them to people in other nations because it is cheaper. This is a bad impact because now the American economy is being affected because fewer people
I believe globalization has brought forward positive aspects as well as negative aspects equally. However, the positive effects for one country can also result in a negative for another. Here are a few examples of how I see this happen, through globalization many economic opportunities are provided, this increases the standard of living for many; however these benefits are not worldwide and we continue to see that the wealthy are getting wealthier at the expense of others. Globalization benefits consumers by providing the best price possible through outsourcing goods around the world; this, however, takes business away from local companies and leaves many people without a job. Globalization provides knowledge of what is happening around the world through the advancements in technology and through the media making aid available in times of need and acknowledgment of the issues happening worldwide. Ever since 1945, globalization has greatly influenced the development of Asia. This impact has been both positive and negative on the country. These include the fact that there is a growing Western culture growing in some regions of Asia and there is a threat to internal cohesion and economic health. However, globalization isn’t spread to just the East, it is also spread to the West and that still benefits Asian cultures both positively and negatively.
A world united, a nation of the free, yet countries are spited, this is no longer a place where diversity reigns supreme. The world of music, art, literature, films and other avenues of merchandising have allowed for the United States of America to expand their market into the rest of the world. McDonald’s can be found anywhere from Jerusalem to Japan, out of top movies grossing across the world only four are non American, and the cultures that once made this world a colorful and lively place are vanishing. The use of pop culture in order to increase the globalization of Americanized products has recently come out of the shadows and is now the main route for market. Many countries are upset with the stipulations and implications associated with what they perceive as Americanized globalization, thus boiling the tensions between the rest of the world and the United States. If globalization continues in this manner these tensions will the reach their breaking point, and isn’t that clear sign of the trouble and unwelcome globalization?
Brexit in June and Donald J. Trump election win on November 8, 2016, clearly shows voters’ rejection against globalization. Globalization has become a heated political debate all over the globe with sub-issues like migration, trade, and national sovereignty being heated topics; countries that have been benefiting from globalizations are beginning to question its usefulness to their national policy. What is globalization? Globalization is the process in which people interact with one another such as with other countries or societies. Globalization has been apart of the world since the first civilizations began to emerge many years ago. Many of the first civilizations consisted of hunters and gatherers in which they only focused on their ability to survive. As a result of this, they had little contact with the outside world, for they weren’t as intelligent or capable enough of exploring different societies. Throughout the decades, civilizations began to develop into becoming more resourceful and knowledgeable, because of how they gathered new technology and ideas from other different societies. Due to this, the civilizations’ chances of survival had increased because of the strong communication they had with each other. These strong and significant civilizations began to interact with one another through trade routes, by communicating, and through writing. The reason for this is because some civilizations lacked agriculture, resources, and religion/ideas.

Globalisation is one of the major issues affecting our society today. But many people do not still commend it as a threat to the society because it snags is concealed like a Trojan horse which disguises its dangers by professing to be an advantage at the beginning but then causes havoc when its clients are mesmerized by its appearance.
Across the world, globalization is one of the most significant aspects that has occurred over the last fifty years. It allows a country to integrate economically with other countries through a global network comprised of people, trade, and transportation.
