I believe globalization has brought forward positive aspects as well as negative aspects equally. However, the positive effects for one country can also result in a negative for another. Here are a few examples of how I see this happen, through globalization many economic opportunities are provided, this increases the standard of living for many; however these benefits are not worldwide and we continue to see that the wealthy are getting wealthier at the expense of others. Globalization benefits consumers by providing the best price possible through outsourcing goods around the world; this, however, takes business away from local companies and leaves many people without a job. Globalization provides knowledge of what is happening around the world through the advancements in technology and through the media making aid available in times of need and acknowledgment of the issues happening worldwide. Globalization is the integration of the worldwide economy in which resources and products move freely across the globe. Globalization has been present for decades however it has predominantly become a more frequent process and has potential good and bad effects on the world of business. Problems can include competition in manufacturing jobs and unemployment in industrialized countries. However, this can also be beneficial in other situations as globalization gives you a larger market trade will be cheaper so more countries can import and export goods which can bring in profits to multi-national corporations.

If you were to travel anywhere in the world and ask their people what “McDonalds” is, the likelihood of that person knowing the renowned food chain is skyrocketing by year. This is because of Americanization, which is basically the spreading of American cultures and traditions. Americanization is one of the biggest parts of globalization to date. Globalization is the idea of countries getting more and more involved with each other; becoming more and more interconnected. Essentially, increased globalization has a severe impact on several different aspects of general life, but overall, the effects are far more positive.

Ever since 1945, globalization has greatly influenced the development of Asia. This impact has been both positive and negative on the country. These include the fact that there is a growing Western culture growing in some regions of Asia and there is a threat to internal cohesion and economic health. The use of pop culture in order to increase the globalization of Americanized products has recently come out of the shadows and is now the main route for market. Many countries are upset with the stipulations and implications associated with what they perceive as Americanized globalization, thus boiling the tensions between the rest of the world and the United States. If globalization continues in this manner these tensions will the reach their breaking point, and isn’t that clear sign of the trouble and unwelcome globalization?

Globalization has it cost-benefit, but the United States has benefitted more from globalization than any other nation in the world comparatively.

There will always be people trying to defend globalization but while looking at globalization, major proponents and how globalization effects the world, it is easy to determine that globalization is detrimental to many developing and developed countries. Looking at how the technology and economics of both privileged and marginalized places, it shows how there are some parts of the world that benefit from globalization but most of the world is effected negatively by it. Technology has allowed globalization to change the world economically, environmentally and even in the ways that the world communicates with one another.
