Poseidon, God of the sea, expressed his independence and free will in various ways. He was officially the god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses, but found most power in the watery domain. Poseidon was later in his existence known for being one of the supreme gods of Mount Olympus, but he spent most of his time in the water and the sea, the thing he was more powerful in. Poseidon mostly kept to himself, but worked with other gods and goddesses when he needed to or when the opportunity presented itself. Poseidon is a critical figure when it comes to Greek Mythology, and he played a major role in many historical events in Greek history such as the naming of the capital city of Greece.
