The career I have chosen is becoming a police officer. I do have to go to a police academy and take the academy for 13-24 months. I have to be at least 18 and financially stable to join the academy(learn). One of the police sayings quotes that I like is the police manifesto “I am the police, and I am here to arrest you, you’ve broken the law, I did not write the law , I may even disagree with the law ,but I will enforce it ,no matter how you plead, cajole, beg or attempt to stir my sympathies, nothing you do will stop me from placing you in a steel cage with grey bars, if you run away, I will chase you, if you fight me, I will fight back, if you shoot at me, I will shoot back, by law I am unable to walk away, I am a consequence, I am the unpaid bill, I am fate with a badge and a gun, behind my badge is a heart like yours, I bleed, I think, I love, and yes, I can be killed, and although I am but one man, I have thousands of brothers and sisters who are the same as me, they will lay down their lives for me, as I them, we stand watch together, a thin blue line, protecting them, from predators, the good from the bad, we are the police(police+).” this saying is one of my favorite quotes that I have

Becoming a police officer isn’t an easy take because they have to risk their life everyday to protect and serve the community. I have chosen the career of Local Law enforcement. To join this career there are many requirements. For example, there are specific educational requirements, the bare minimum for education to be a local police officer is a high school diploma or GED. Furthermore, most Law enforcement careers require a bachelor’s degree or a certain number of college credits. Although taking classes in college that have a focus in criminal justice and receiving a degree towards that focus can increase your pay and ability to get a job in local enforcement, as well as setting you apart and increasing your chances of receiving different promotions and jobs. My career chose for this paper would be about Peace Officer’s which is the correct wording for Police Officer within the law enforcement family. The reason why I choose to discussion law enforcement for this class because as an Peace Officer’s their job carries a great deal of risk, but many people purse this career to become a Peace Officer’s because they want to protect others. The common duties of a Peace Officer’s include patrolling designated areas by answering call for help, enforcing laws, arresting individuals suspected of committing crimes, testifying in court about an incident and conducting traffic stops. The criminal justice system field that I am most interested in is the law enforcement side. After college I have three dreams one is to be in the United States Air Force.
