Pit-Bulls are bad, is that right? People assume that dogs' breed influence their behavior and levels of aggression. They label dogs without knowing the basics regarding dogs behavior, psychology, nor training. Dogs are animals and need help in being adapted to the human world. When a baby is born, the mother teaches her newborn how to eat, how to speak and even as a society how to think. When a puppy is born, it is born to an animal world, full of instincts and "proper dog life". Sometimes we get upset when we see immigrants acting in a certain way. Our ignorance regarding their culture creates a huge gap between us, leading to stereotypes that might explain to our western society their actions. In his show "The dog whisperer", he shows key points in how to establish a good relationships with dogs. Some people believe that his methods are outdated, and they are strong supporters of positive reinforcement. One of the lead trainers of that method is Zack George, an American broadcast and dog trainer. In his YouTube channel he shows how to reward your pooch in responds to a good behavior.
Although both approaches are different, they share key elements that must be followed to succeed in the training process. Patience is a very important quality to posses when it comes to dog training. It might take to a child months to learn the ABC's as well as for a dog to develop a new skill. It is important to remember that each dog is different, for some it might take one class and for some more. Some dogs will be driven by treats and some by a game. It is essential to find what makes them feel good, to help them recognize that they did right.
