Prior to taking the plunge I was not aware that even with government programs there is still a need for pantries in our local area. This brings a very large challenge to my educational environment. I will need to find out which students will require this need to be addressed. As a classroom teacher, I will need to bring awareness to the students that do not have this need that a part of their role in our community is to help those in need. This can be done through volunteering and donations.

During the month of September, our club did organized some volunteer events similar to the Art and Wine Festival, and JW House. We had a lot of fun and memorable times at both events, especially the Art and Wine Festival since we got to meet a large amount of people while serving foods. I heard that Wilcox beated Santa Clara's Key Club on having the amount of members participated in the Art and Wine Festival, so it was very nice to hear. In addition, we organized three general meetings where we talked about dues, FRN, upcoming events and meetings for members and two onsite officers meettings while the rest were online through Skype or Facebook. During this project I learned that premature babies need a specific kind of formula so that they can get the nutrients, iron, calcium, and vitamins needed. I've gained lots of knowledge in various areas of this course; however, a fundamental concept that I think that is overlooked and is vital is carefully planning is how to handle a disaster. I learn a lot from the bioterrorism preparedness assignment and importance of proper planning and drills before an event. Since these types of attacks are unpredictable as I enter the field as a healthcare administrator my organization must have the necessary plan, tools, staff, and equipment to be able to handle this type of situation correctly. Another thing I found interesting is the hospital safety scorecard that provides details of how hospitals measure up against other hospitals with safety protocols, and this data is available to the public to help

We will be hosting our event on Saturday, December 3rd, from 12-4pm at our local YMCA. This will allow time to not only get up and get their day started, but to also have time to get to the health fair event. In addition, they will also have enough time to walk around and explore each booth. This will be beneficial for multiple reasons. With hosting our event at the YMCA, we may be able to inspire individuals to become members of the gym if they choose to take that next step in the direction of a healthy lifestyle.
