1. Phil and his wife Monica lack the factor of forgiveness. They have heated battles because they do not acknowledge each other’s feelings are hurt but instead, just lash out. Since they have children, they are not able to attend to their sexual needs because they have to constantly tend to their four children. However, they both need to step back and realize that they are both trying their hardest. Phil and Monica need to learn and forgive each other because they are both dealing with stress and trying to cope in different ways. Phil does not enjoy his job and is overwhelmed so when he comes home, he is not satisfied so he takes it out on his wife. Phil cheated on Monica and Monica failed to acknowledge that his actions were harmful, which
“I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior,” stated Robertson at one point in the interview. Regardless whether or not A&E thought that his statements were derogatory, they certainly have many other hit TV shows with stars whose opinions differ from Phil’s. A&E was quick to jump on him and suspend him indefinitely, which was extremely unfair for him. It seems to me that if he said what they had wanted him to say, he would be fake. Television is 85% fake these days and I cannot wrap my head around the fact that someone is being judged for being honest about one of their own personal beliefs.
I lived in Albuquerque; he lived in Cloud Croft three hours south, the only mountains of New Mexico I hadn’t been. I’d come earlier if Phil weren’t such an obstinate asshole. He was that guy who gladly used his car, his money, and his lips but it was how he talked, what he said, that was beyond inappropriate. But this was with me, see. If it was in public, Phil somehow magically becomes quote, unquote: more socially sensitive.
When they would be on a losing streak, Phil would be found smudging the corners of the practice facility with sage to help clear the negative energy. He let his players have a voice and freedom. He was mostly there for motivation and guidance. If players were having issues, he would in courage
There love problems ruin each of the people that are part of the affair. Tom cheated with Myrtle
She is, also, differentiated by her willingness to cheat on her husband. Throughout the novel, it is known to everyone that Tom and Myrtle cheat on their spouses. Nick is shocked and disgusted by this fact. Myrtle’s life with her husband, Wilson, is uneventful because he does not own a lot of money. She finds Tom, who gives her an unlimited amount of money.
These characters use cheating to get what they want when they want, which in the end lead to their downfall. Due to Tom not being happy with Daisy, he had decided that instead of trying to divorce her, he would cheat on her with Myrtle Wilson. On their way to lunch, Tom needed to stop for gas at Wilson’s. While there Wilson begins to tell Tom that he and Myrtle are planning on going West, the reason why was that Wilson finally noticed that Myrtle was having an affair, but Wilson did not know with who. While Tom and Wilson are talking, Nick notices Myrtle in the upstairs window looking down at Tom.
Catherine asserts that both Tom and are miserable with the person that they married. Myrtle isn’t satisfied with her husband because when she married him, she thought that he was a gentleman, but instead he was a gas station owner. Similarly, Tom has an abnormal relationship with Daisy causing him to cheat on her. Catherine continues to tell Nick about their quagmire relationship and how Daisy is the person to blame. She tells Nick that Daisy does not believe in a divorce because she is a Catholic; however, Nick knows that her intricate story is a lie because Daisy is not a Catholic.
The lavish existence of Tom and his wife Daisy clashes with a survival of agony and despair for George and his wife Myrtle. Tom and Myrtle clearly don’t value their marriages enough, where this can be seen is when they link up, and give care to the wind for their significant other. Neither of them have a healthy, loving, or caring
Forgiveness can save relationships, or it can damage them depending on if you use the knowledge you have in a positive or negative light towards a person. In The Glass Castle, forgiveness saved the relationship between Jeannette and her parents. Even though her parents did awful things to her and did not necessarily take care of her, Jeannette still lets her love for them shine through and she forgave them for it. Although Jeannette’s parents imposed many hardships and she endured many difficulties, Jeannette found it in her heart to forgive her parents for what they had done.
Smoke Signals, written by Sherman Alexie and directed by Chris Eyre, begins on July 4, 1976 on the Coeur d’ Alene Reservation. Arnold Joseph (Gary Farmer), drunk while celebrating the "independence", lit off a firework and set the Builds-the-Fire residence on fire, killing the parents of Thomas Builds-the Fire. Many people were already asleep in the house when the fire started, so no one saw Arnold’s mistake, which he kept a secret from the whole reservation. Both Thomas Builds-the-Fire (Evan Adams) and Victor Joseph (Adam Beach), Arnold’s son, were saved from the burning house. Arnold ran to catch Thomas in his arms after Thomas was thrown from a window.
Day of the dead is the best way to honor the dead. Or at least I think is what’s better than having a giant cookout and dressing up to rember your loved ones and having a good time and getting together that’s why I think it’s really cool how they honor to dead. To be blasphemous. The pre-Hispanic people were considered barbaric and pagan. So in the Spaniards attempts to convert them to Catholicism the ritual was attempted to be vanished. However they failed and the Day of the Dead rituals lived on.
In his essay, Edgar Allan Poe describes the ideal poem or short story as having three main characteristics. Poetry and short stories should be written using three fundamental ideas length, method, and unity of effect. Poe uses his own work of poetry “The Raven” as an example of these three fundamental ideas.
Social and cultural values and ideas played a critical role from the Greeks to modern civilization. The legacy of Greek culture continues to influence our culture today. In the novel, Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, a kid named Chris Mccandless abandons his family and goes into the Alaskan frontier with only a pair of boots, a 22cal Remington rifle, and a 25 pound bag of rice. He goes out there to find joy. The theme of this book is forgiveness and the inability to forgive. Also, in the novel, Into the Wild, the book proves that going into nature unprepared leads to death.
Phil took control of every situation. He maintains the position and calm while asking questions. I could immediately see that he did not share the same values or principles as the interviewee, yet he did not act against her behavior. Instead, he asked reflective questions so that she could know she was wrong. There were times where the interviewee was a little bit out of control and Dr. Phil calmed her and spoke firmly about her behavior. The interviewer conveys empathy in some ways. For example, told her “I understand what you are going through” and “It is difficult”. Those two phrases made me realize that the interviewer feels empathy towards the interviewee.
