Introduction
Attention Getter: How would you feel if someone was trying to put you down for your appearance or your culture or your for just being you? (Transition: So why does bullying need to stop?)
Body
Everyone has either been bullied or have been the bully, but the ones who are the bully don’t see what they’re really doing until it’s too late.
For the past decade, the bullying rate has been sitting at 28%, but finally dropped to 22% just a few years ago. (U.S Department of Education, 2015)
It obviously shows that something is being done about the bullying. But do you really think it’s ever going to stop completely? Do you think if we really try to stop the bullying, will it actually make a difference in society? I hope so because if nothing changes in the next decade, there’s no hope of anything ever being done.
I’m sure there’s someone here that has either been bullied or has been the bully. Do you ever look back at what you did or what was said to you? I sure do. B. As the bully, you don’t see what you’re doing to the person because you’re dealing with things yourself.
The real reason behind getting bullied is the bully himself is going through his own stuff and takes his anger out on
When someone is being bullied, they are likely to face with a series of challenges, which it causes social, physical, and health problems.
Everyone has been bullied at least once in their life. But not many are willing to admit to being the bully. Most stories about bulling come from the perspective of the victim, but with a good reason: it’s hard to admit to once being a jerk.
Studies show the dangers in bullying and how it is on the rise especially with use of the
A quote by Shay Mitchell states, “I realized bullying has nothing to do with you. It’s the bully who is insecure.” I’d like to build on what Shay Mitchell said. He is right that nothing is wrong with the victim but that something is wrong with the bully themself. I agree because bullies do what they do, not as much to put somebody down but to make themselves feel more powerful. My position in bullying is usually as an upstander, as I try to help the person who is being bullied. It is important that we realize that a group of people against a bully is always stronger than one bully alone. I’d like to conclude with the fact that bullies can be stopped but only if people care and make an
There are many roles that individuals can play when it comes to bullying. Some participate in bullying others. Others are the victims of bullying, and sometimes they might be both, bullied and bullies. Bullies search for any reasons to pick on or ridicule their victims which put them in a position of power. Victims can take control, but this will require adult intervention. When victims are made to feel loved, respected and
Bullying is a common thing these days and happen in schools, work, public, etc. and because of this Many children, adults and teens are in the state of depression and some even feel the need to commit suicide, and teaching adults and kids about bullying in schools and work works to address this issue by showing all the negative effects of bullying on everyone and what is the effect of bullying. You can be the difference and help make a change by even helping one person or even just
After some research, I found out that the main reason for someone to be a bully is the lack of attention, when a parent is absent from a child life, this kid crave attention, wants people too notice him. Another cause can be that the kid is being bullied from an older person that represents power to them, for example a parent, teacher or older sibling. That’s why they look for a less powerful target. (STOMP Out Bullying)
It is time, at last, to speak the truth about what bullying is and how it affects us as human beings and our development. It is unfortunate but seemingly an inevitable human activity. It has been scattered
Some people believe that bullying is only seen on television or in the movies but it is a real life issue that is seen and experienced by many every day. People of all ages, races, cultures and backgrounds are affected. There are some who are embarrassed to report bullying but it occurs every day, everywhere. It is important to learn about and understand what causes people to be bullies, as well as understand the effects that being bullied can have on a person. It is important for people to understand all sides of bullying, from the signs of someone being bullied to what you can do to prevent it.
What appears to be bullying is not always bullying. There is this misconception that when someone disagrees with another person or is hurtful towards that person, bullying always seems to be what they say is going on. Although statistics shows that one in four kids are bullied, all aggressive actions are not bullying. If a person has self-esteem and self confidence in themselves and not let others tear you down the imbalance of power is balanced. Bullies have more power over their victims and always want to be on top. They enjoy displaying the power they have over their victim.
Okay I want you to close your eyes and think about this. Most of you have probably ever been bullied or bullied someone else. It happens every single day in those halls, in these rooms. We all see, and know it’s there: some may do it even. I want you to see it from their perspective. How would you like it if you were being bullied? If you were called fat, ugly, stupid, gay, unwanted? If your possessions, for example your new Michael Kors bag was broken by bullies? If you were punched, kicked, spit on, shoved, tripped how would you feel?
Bullying has the obscured need of an individual to feel like they have the power as compared to others in a social setting. When the bully carries an ego at school, the victim of the bullying may suffer both physical and emotional abuse. Bullying can also extend to sexual and verbal abuse. In some schools, a majority of the popular students tend to pick on the less popular students for the sake of fun and attention from other school mates. The main structural causes of bullying are mostly psychosomatic problems. In most of the times, a bully can also get rid of their own problems by passing it on to others person. In rare cases of young people, teenagers often release their anger out because of their violent backgrounds or negative influences that they come across as they grew up in life. As an outcome, they end up exhibiting these feelings through
Many people do not realize how serious bullying has become. If you look at statistics suicides due to bullying have increased over just a few short years. This has become a very big problem for not only the victim but the bully as well as it affect both of them. School bullying is mentally destructive to not only the victims, but bullies because of the harmful words, harassment, and physical violence involved as well as the consequences for the bully.
There are many issues in the news that involve bullying and bad things that happen, aswell as people being affected from people bullying them.
Bullying, in its many forms, is becoming an extremely hazardous problem that many individuals endure. Bullies torment others because they themselves have insecurities, have been bullied themselves, or have a mental illness that brings out the worst in them. Nevertheless, bullying can physically and emotionally destroy the victim, whether it is by physical abuse, cyber bullying, or verbal abuse.
