Statement: "Traditional publishing has been rendered unnecessary by the rise of digital publication."
Deductive Argument:
1) In traditional publishing before digital publishing was available was the only way to reach the masses for the book author.
2) With digital publishing, the writer can reach the masses more efficiently and economically through websites like Amazon for Kindle and Barnes and Noble for The Nook, Apple, and other online bookstores.
3) Authors are saving themselves money by going digital.
Inductive Argument:
1) Readers are still wanting the physical book availability as opposed to just having the electronic edition.
2) All authors are embracing the age of digital publication.
3) Authors have made more money going digital.
On Wednesday, the police announced a $30,000 reward for the safe return of 22-year-old Zuzu Renee Verk, which is a student at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX (about 100 miles away from Mexican border). Rabury’s prophecy about society and books today is correct that most people honestly don’t check out or buy a book and read it anymore. The world is so focused on social media including; facebook, twitter, and instagram that they don’t use their free time to read, but to tweet or update their status. Technology has gotten more interesting, and even when some people to read, they can find the book online.
The publishing industry is struggling in many areas. Customers have a great deal of other reading material they can access online. Readers can read cheaper, self-published novels on their Kindle, or surf free content online. Also, the Harlequin image amongst some women is seen as out-of-date, given contemporary feminist mores.
I have chosen option 1 it is $900.17 more expensive than option 2 because my family has been here two times before and we find it fun and we have relatives living over there in Brisbane. We are flying for 3 hours with food and entertainment which is better for our family than driving for 8 hours if we were doing the South Island trip.Although we will still have to be in the airport 2 hours earlier the positives still outweigh the negatives. If chose option 2 we would have to stop for food which will cost us an extra $100 we all get tired and sick of driving and we also might get carsick which is horrible. My parents will get exhausted from driving where as we will not have to spend that extra $100 on food driving. Flying my parents can relax
As a new revolution rears its head due to rapidly evolving technology, many are becoming concerned with the potential problems that e-books could present. Ms. Elliot, a retired librarian, expresses her apprehension and concern for this electronic book form through a speech conducted at the “Reading: the future” forum. Directing her speech to mainly booklovers, she also reaches out to parents whose children will be most affected by the development of e-books.
In a time when technology is the focal point of attraction, people spend more time sitting in front of a screen than getting out and being active. Video games used to be simply a game, movies used to be a treat, and phones were only used for talking. Now, these things are considered hobbies! As a result, more and more people sit around with technology instead of pursuing healthier activities. In order to fight the increased lack of physical activity of today’s society, many schools, employers, and organizations have invested time and money into programs directed at getting people up and active. Countless programs and hobbies have emerged over the years to capitalize on this active movement, but one is the complete package. CrossFit uses high

Whether the New York Times was correct that ebook sales are falling, or Fortune Magazine was right to insist the opposite, there is only a small total readership for this format of books. Self-publishing may not be the wisest course of action for a beginning writer seeking wide readerships and high profits. However, it still might be a worthwhile path for a beginning writer who wishes to share their work without the hassle of traditional publishing. Writers must carefully evaluate their writing goals before making their decision. Because of what I learned about ebooks’ audience size, I will now be more open to the idea of choosing traditional publishing over self-publishing for my own
Over the last decade James Patterson has published an unprecedented number of best-selling books, cemented a powerful brand image amongst a loyal following, and redefined the process by which authors create content to meet reader demand. From November 2000 through June 2003, Patterson had cumulative sales of over six million dollars, trailing only John Grisham during that time frame. He has generated the majority of his sales through a loyal readership that consistently lines up to buy his next installment. Keenly aware of this dedicated following, Patterson successfully sought to augment the proliferation of his titles with co-authors familiar with his brand that could share the workload, creating a virtual
A deductive argument tends to work from the generalized to the more specific. It often referred to as a top-down approach informally. The conclusions that are made in deductive argument follow logically from the facts that are available. A deductive approach can be taken on the statement traditional publishing has been rendered unnecessary by the rise of digital publication. Electrical publishing which is also referred to as ePublishing or digital publishing involves the publication of e-books, electronic articles, digital libraries and EPUBS. It is becoming a common trend to distribute books, newspapers and even magazines directly to readers through tablet reading devices. This has been generated by vendors who operate online like Apple iTunes bookstore and books in the android market among others. Market researchers have made suggestions that most of the magazines and newspapers that will be in circulation will be done through digital means by 2015(Sader, 2004). Most of the publishing companies are also considering making agreements with these electronic publishing networks like Apple so that they can increase the publications through them and eventually no more traditional publishing will be done (Rothchild, I. 2006). From the look at the general trend in publishing that most people and firms are taking as depicted above, it is safe to take the deductive conclusion that "Traditional publishing has been rendered unnecessary by the
In this day and age, the vast majority of young Americans are conflicted on whether attending college is the right choice for them. After thoughtfully weighing their options and making their decision, students that plan on pursuing a further education are faced with the challenge of choosing the right college for them. Years ago, in the distant age of pre-early 2000's, self-publishing was a dirty word. A stigma of "not-good-enough" was as attached to the word as firmly as thick glasses with tape on the bridge were attached to the word "nerd."
The publishing industry is not just for books. It involves production and marketing of information. Other than books, the publishing industry can be found in newspapers, magazines, cards of various types, music, and directorial software. Publishers of the content hold the copyright to the work which they or another artist produces. The different kinds of media can be found in hard copies, digitally online, through audio, or with a compact disk. The publishing industry in general requires a large workforce in order to create and manufacture the product successfully. Writers, researchers, and journalists create the content, and send it off to publishers for evaluation. Artists employed by publishers work on designs for covers on books, cards, and albums. Graphic designers are employed to position images with text in newspapers and magazines. The employees in charge of production make physical copies of the work. Computer developers create the electronic content that can be bought and downloaded. Lastly, the marketing team advertises and sells the product. The biggest amount of employment stems from the Newspaper industry. This is due to the large teams of journalists that have to come together in order to create and distribute content. Clustering has become a huge factor in the Newspaper industry in order to make the production more efficient. The industry is also dominated by a few large newspaper companies. The book publishing industry

However, despite the technological changes, there has been a wide debate about the benefits of paper books over the e-books.
