Who Should Be the First Pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Fultz or Ball?
There has been a lot of talk in the sports world about how loaded this year's NBA Draft will be. UCLA freshman Lonzo Ball and Washington freshman Markelle Fultz are the two front runners leaving NBA scouts hesitant to decide who should be the number one pick. I believe Ball should be the number one pick in the 2017 NBA Draft because of his ability to change the momentum of the game without scoring himself and his determination to win. Some analysts say Ball only had more success this year than Fultz because of his better supporting cast, but Ball, in previous years, has proven that he can win with any team.
There are many NBA stars who have the capability to heat up and hit shot after shot, but few players

This may be true, although it gives Fultz an opportunity to improve his individual scoring statistics. But, what it comes down to is winning. Ball has proven to be a winner, not only in his college career, but also in his high school career. As a senior at Chino Hills, a public school, he led his team to an undefeated season and a state championship title. Ball was the only senior starting for Chino Hills, a rare occurrence. The others were two juniors and two freshman. They climbed the national ranking throughout the season, finishing at number one. They matched up and beat private school teams from all across the country, and public school teams usually do not beat those heavily recruited teams. What NBA teams want is a player who is clutch and can win basketball games. That statement defines Lonzo Ball perfectly, as he makes everyone who plays with him better. So, therefore, Ball should be the number one pick in the 2017 NBA Draft because of his ability to change the momentum of the game without scoring himself and his determination to
On Tuesday, Duke Blue Devils freshman Harry Giles declared for the 2017 NBA Draft. Having entered the college basketball season as a then sure-fire lock to be a lottery selection, Giles' current stock has him going anywhere from the middle of the first round to the middle of the second.
I decided to use this article because of the hype surrounding Lonzo Ball being the next Jason Kidd. I watched him play at UCLA and I just wanted to see how he would play against NBA caliber players. He played bad, but I don’t think people should be calling him a draft bust because he hasn’t played since March and he has to shake off the rust. But I will admit I don’t he ever going to be able to shoot, especially with that unorthodox shooting form.
LeBron James is a superior basketball player to Kobe Bryant. Being a 13x NBA 1st team makes LeBron the superior player over Kobe. According to Landofbasketball.com, the years LeBron James was chosen were 06, 08-2018, and the latest being 2020. These 13x selections beat Kobe by 2, who only had 11 selections LeBron was selected 10 years in a row. Furthermore, another
Every offseason, teams go into free agency looking to find that one player that will put them over the top. Some teams look for that game changing player on defense, while others look towards the offensive side of the ball.
Being the “worst” pick isn’t just about that one player; it’s about the opportunity cost of picking that one player over everyone else, and it’s not as if Bennett’s 2013 draft class has blown the league away. Re-draft today, and it’s plausible — likely, actually — that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert would be the top two
Demarcus Cousins was the fifth pick, in the first round. Before him came John Wall, Evan Turner, Derrick Favors, the came Demarcus. He was drafted by Sacramento, and is currently still playing there. That year he won the Rookie Of Year, award. Demarcus is a 2 times NBA all star, and made the all NBA second team. Hes still a little but young,
Number one in the nation and number one in our hearts the staring players of the chino hills boy’s basketball team, with Elizjah Scott, Lamelo Ball, Lonzo Ball, LiAngelo Ball and Onyeka Okongwu. These boys have made our school proud with practically winning every game no doubts about it.
With the Sixers most likely not making the playoffs and also having the Lakers pick (outside of top 5), the Sixers are destined to add another piece of young talent to the mix of great players they have already. The 2017 NBA Draft looks like it will be a good one and Sixers fans are excited about adding another player to a team that is filled with great young talent.
The draft has a significant impact on the coaches as much as the players. Coaches for the NBA, NFL, and MLB have to be sure their potential players are skilled enough, fit into their team program, and will make a difference in the team program. Also, they have to evaluate the players they already have so when picking for the draft, coaches won’t pick the same type of player they already have on the rosters. Coaches tend to look at the areas they struggled in the previous season or seasons
As the Lakers, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers currently yield the best shot at landing Simmons this summer when he is likely to enter the 2016 NBA Draft, it’s almost a certainty that one of these storied franchises will get a future superstar.
The 2016 College Basketball All-Americans are a surprising bunch. With the exception of Ben Simmons and Jamal Murray, there is a conspicuous lack of former blue chip prospects on the list. This year it was unheralded players from states not considered to be basketball hotbeds that ended up making huge impacts huge. Jarrod Uthoff was a 90th ranked recruit in his high school class and from the state of Iowa. Georges Niang was ranked 56th and from Massachusetts. Kris Dunn was ranked 23rd and from Connecticut. This didn’t stop them from all eventually becoming all-americans, and when it came draft time Kris Dunn was picked 5th overall, Niang was picked 50th, and Uthoff signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings as an undrafted free agent.
Ever since Kevin Garnett, a teenager who by-passed college, was drafted as the fifth overall pick in the 1995 National Basketball Association (NBA) draft, more and more high school teenagers have been making the jump straight to the pros. Since the league draft of 1995, 17 first round picks have been high school players. This means that about 7 percent of first round draft picks in the NBA have been high school teens skipping out on their college education to make the jump to the NBA (Chylinski).
rowing up Jimmy butler experienced a lot of pain. His father left his mother and him at an early age. Once he was 13 he was kicked out by his mother and living on the streets with nothing but a dream to play basketball. He tried to play basketball in high school but kept getting denied, in college he played for Marquette and showed everybody he is worth it by being a visual learner and learning from his mistakes. He began to refer to himself as “Baby Mike” according to article (10 things you didn’t know about Jimmy Butler).Being in the National Basketball Association (NBA) you need to try to be the best at all times. You have to a work ethic, the type of mentality to keep going through it all, you have to have the skills to be great, and a good team player. Jimmy Butler’s ability to score in clutch moments, have great defense, and the team to back him up makes him the an All-Star player in the league.
Well, in every team’s dream that would be Marc Gasol but it looks like he’s staying put, at least that’s the overwhelming feeling. Regardless, the Lakers are likely to go after a big with a big name. On their list (as well on the list of many others) are LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love, and Greg Monroe. Out of all these players, I can see the Lakers landing LaMarcus Aldridge, who would demand max money
During his time in Portland, LaMarcus Aldridge was among the more underrated superstars in the NBA. In his nine seasons in Portland, Aldridge established himself as a prolific offensive player. Being both a terrific mid-range shooter and finisher in the post, Aldridge proved deserving of his four All-Star and three All-NBA Team (1x Second Team, 2x Third Team) appearances.
