Many people argue that competitive sports raise numerous amounts of pressure on the youth making them distracted from things such as their education and because it can cause severe injuries, but some people argue that youth should play competitive sports because it teaches major life lessons that can help with many different aspects of their future such as college, getting a job, and many more. Playing competitive sports also improves your physical strength, another physical aspect of playing competitive sports is decreasing your chance of being obese or having disease. If you don't prefer to play competitive sports there are alternative options such as biking or walking to school. In an HT Health article “Sports Seen As Key Weapon in Fighting Teen Obesity” it says that in a study with 1,700 kids, ten percent walked or biked to school 3 ½ days a week,, in the study they found that biking or walking to school lowered the risk of being obese by 33%. I argue that kids should play competitive sports because of the important life skills taught through these sports and the physical benefit of playing sports. In this paper I will explain how communication, time management, and lowering the risk of being obese; supports my claim, “Kids should play competitive sports”

America’s baseball diamonds, soccer fields, hockey rinks, and basketball courts have never been so busy with children. The number of kids involved in an organized sport is not what is so groundbreaking. It’s the way in which children are playing or how their parents are arranging for them to play that may be cause for concern (Ferguson). Much controversy surrounds youth sports with the biggest disagreements coming over parental involvement and the intensity of play. Although there are many benefits for team participation, there is a growing fear that the negatives are starting to outweigh the positives.

You're Just being a wimp or whatever. Being 100% Truthful football has killed athletes or just permanently damaged their bodies or just messed them up mentally. Do I hate football? No, I think the sport can be so entertaining to watch, you get so into you don't really think about the players, you forget that they can hurt. If you're a hardcore sports fan, your reaction will probably be like, "Get up, He didn't hurt you too bad, Just walk it off." Sometimes those people aren't wrong, sometimes in other sports, they get tapped on the shoulder and then they fall on the ground crying like they can't even go with the game, but next 3 minutes, they are perfectly fine, without any care, they just get up like nothing ever happened. Maybe they are forced to do that, but that's another conversation.

If it’s able to become the third major collegiate sport it must coexist with MLS academies. The path won’t be easy however it’s necessary if American Soccer want’s to remain stable.

Football is often labeled as a dangerous, unsafe sport, but there are many good things that come along with playing football. In the past two weeks I have learned about the risks that accompany football. Many kids suffer with concussions and face injuries from the sport, which scares many people away. But, despite the risks and the unsafe label, I would allow my child to play football because it promotes health, builds friendships, and helps gain toughness.

As the years passed, American Football has seen an exponential progression, including the introduction of children’s football associations. While there is a numerous group of parents who have no problem with their child being involved in football, recent revelations would begin to grow concern in some. It is because of this we must ask, should parents disallow their children from participating in football, or should they focus on the more positive benefits that the organized sport could have?

Since you’re fortunate enough to attend a prep school in New England, you must be aware of the highly competitive boys ice hockey program. Luckily you attend the one and only Canterbury School which just so happens to be known for the best hockey program on the east coast. The whole team even swears upon every saint’s puck member having at least three divisions one college looks, even the players who are getting their first opportunity to dress this year! The school has taken pride in this team for over 90 years now, making it the highest priority around campus. Wondering where all that tuition money is going? Well that answer is simple, its going to the boy’s varsity saint’s puck squad! Remember no matter how much money you put in the only thing that is going to make a team successful in the athletic ability and love for the game, which is made very apparent with this group of boys.

Picture this on the basketball court and you are playing very good. Then it all turns bad. Your start making turnovers and messing up the plays. Then the coach starts to yell at you instead of helping you. What do you do? This is why coaches need to stop screaming at their players and just help them. These three reasons explain why they should stop. One reason is that some players have way more talent than others and coaches don’t realize it. Another reason is you can make relationships with your coaches but you can’t since they are yelling at you. The third reason is their health because coaches can hurt the players confidence and their self-esteem. This is why coaches should stop yelling at the players and be nice to them and help them.

The sport that I intend to create is a mix between both soccer and football. The sport, which would be named “Soccer Slam”, would be a great new innovative way to entertain the masses while allowing the masses to be involved in the sport. This game not only has the capability of growing across the country, but because of soccer’s popularity on a global scale it would attract many fans of all types and ages. Before going into the future possibilities for the sport it is more important to understand what this new sport is.

A person is capable of learning a skill if they put their time and effort towards what they feel passionate about. Has someone ever wanted to develop an ability that you practice it for hours a day? I did, I have spent around 100 hours a year trying to perfect my loving skill, volleyball. It was a hardworking skill, but enjoyable as well. It is my way of life. The most important years of my life was my volleyball experience in High School.

Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think it’s not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will need for the future.

American high schools are bound to have plenty of sports for all students to play. So why not pick a sport to play in high school? The reader will learn the many reasons why playing sports is a vital part in a student's life. Highschool sports will allow students to become better educated and get higher grades. By playing sports, students will be able to make more friends and enjoy school more. Lastly, if students were to be able to get a sports scholarship for college, their parents will only have to pay little to no money. High school sports are good for students because they can get a better education, make more friends, and have a better chance at getting into a good college.

Organized youth sports are extremely popular among youth and their families, with approximately 45 million children and adolescent participating in the US. There are many characteristics children can develop while playing youth sports such as confidence, self-esteem, leadership, respect, independence, assertiveness, and conflict resolution. Competition can help kids learn more, improve faster and reach a higher level of excellence than they would be able to without the ongoing challenge. Competitive sports can help keep kids active and health as they grow, and other distractions increase that may lead to an unhealthy lifestyle. People argue that it can destroy self-esteem and lead to resentment. Programs and coaches overemphasizing
