“Every single immigrant undocumented or documented, is a future American” (Diaz). According to Krogstad, Passal, and Cohn,” A rising share of unauthorized immigrants have lived in the U.S for at least a decade” (2017). During the last few days President Donald Trump has worked on building a wall on the Mexican border, and his dream (deporting all illegal immigrants) is soon becoming a reality. Many Hispanic Immigrants are saying goodbye to their dream, and are finding ways to cross the border, but every time an immigrant tries to cross the border illegally it is a different outcome. Border Patrols are detecting more, and more immigrants crossing the border illegally, and when they perceive them, the border patrols dispatch them back where they came from. Trump’s plan to stop illegal immigrants is to build a wall over the Mexican Border. During Donald Trump’s presidential campaign one of his boldest promises was to deport all illegal Hispanic Immigrants. Current President Donald Trump has already released his plan to stop immigrants from entering and crossing the border. One of the negative effects on building this wall is he wants Mexico to pay for this border. "I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I build them very inexpensively" states Trump. According to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, he reveals “No way we pay for Trump’s wall”. Hispanic Immigrants fear to get deported and more are running away from immigration police (I.C.E). More and more immigrants are getting deported every day and are saying goodbye to their dream. According to Viviana Andazola Marquez, her dad wanted to do the correct thing, waiting for his residency, paying his taxes and working was arrested by I.C.E. Until this day she is waiting for I.C.E to release her dad. Trump’s plan to deport all illegal immigrants out of the United States “the Department of Homeland Security issued a sweeping set of orders Tuesday that implement President Trump’s plan to increase immigration enforcement, placing most of the nation's 11 million undocumented immigrants at risk of deportation” (Gomez 2017). Even though Trump thinks his plan will “Make America Great Again” deporting over 11 million
Donald Trump has voiced his strong opposition to Mexicans being in the United States; he even went as far as proposing the idea of building a wall separating Mexico from the US. According to Forbes’ article written by Dolia Estevez, “he wants to deport 11.3 million undocumented workers, 6 million of which are Mexicans, and strip babies born to undocumented immigrants of their birthright citizenship.”
One of Donald Trump biggest suggestions that half of the united states does not agree with is his immigration laws. Trump plans on putting up borders around Mexico. Meaning he is using an
“I will build a great wall- and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me- and I’ll build them very inexpensively on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words”-Donald Trump. Whether the United States builds a wall, deports hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, or does nothing about it, the so called “uncontrollable problem” of immigration is still present today. America, for the past 100 years, has been faced with this dilemma that immigrants come and pursue the American dream but some doing it illegally. Not only has that been an added contribution to the issue of America’s economic stability but also how America is seen as a nation. Immigration, now more than ever, has become a national crisis that needs to be taken care of immediately.
Donald trump's plan on immigration is to deport illegal immigrants. He also wants to build a wall across the southern border of the united states. He believes that mexico should pay for the wall he builds across the border. He thinks this because he believes that mexico has been taking advantage of america by using immigration to export the crime in the country. They Posed books about how to illegally immigrate to the U.S.A.
Illegal immigration has become more of an important issue in the United States since Donald Trump’s campaign for president in 2016. Immigration can be known as the act of people crossing national borders to live permanently in other countries. It becomes illegal when they cross those borders without the legal right to be in those countries. The U.S. has been an immigrant country since the pilgrims in the 1600s and has ever since, been diverse. Most of the immigrants are Latinos that come from Central America, but they also come from all over the world. The current path to legal citizenship is flawed and needs to be reformed to allow rights to be upheld, equal and fair treatment of all applicants, and to facilitate the process altogether.
“In 2014, 5.8 million unauthorized immigrants from Mexico lived in the U.S.,” according to Pew Research Center (Krogstad). Regulating the number of illegal immigrants from entering the United States has become an increasingly significant issue for the federal government’s agenda after, the number of unauthorized immigrants reached a peak in 2007 at 12.2 million, when this group made up 4% of the U.S. population (Krogstad). An abundance of proposed solutions have been offered to limit the steadily increasing number of illegal immigrants from reaching American soil, such as: mandating E-verify, a system that determines whether or a not a person is eligible to work in the United states, strengthening border security, and fortifying interior enforcement measures in the United States (Illegal Immigration and Border Security). Another major plan sources from President Donald Trump, who hopes to build a wall spanning between the United States and Mexico. This idea has ignited numerous opposing arguments that have picked out its irrationalities, and display how Donald Trump’s proposal to erect a wall generates more complications than benefits.
I spent a day strolling through downtown Chicago with my best friend, Sarah. Once we became tired we decided to sit alongside the Wabash River, directly across from the Trump Tower. I remember commenting that I thought the building was beautifully built. That was when Sarah told me several things that sprouted my worries. She told me about a speech Trump had given in which he spoke about his planned immigration reform. When those words are said together, we are quick to assume that there will be some sort of amnesty that will be granted to those that are here illegally. But Trump basically says “real immigration reform” is not amnesty, but involves the construction of a wall along borders, the mandatory deportation of 11 million Mexican immigrants, and the end of birthright citizenship. While I do understand that the wall would be built for protective measures, Trump plans on requiring Mexico to pay for this wall because apparently, Mexico sends people who are ‘bringing drugs, bringing crime, and are rapists.’ I understand that there exists a handful of people who fit his description, however Trump classifies all 11 million Mexican immigrants in exactly the same way. All I have to say is that the claims made by this man are not true. Nothing he is planning on doing is realistic or a practical way of resolving the nation’s immigration
Donald Trump has promoted during his speech the preach of the American people especially the the white male and female population, making this a very controversial ideology, since in recent months there has being a big separation between the American populations. Immigrants and other minorities are now at risk of suffering from Donald Trump policies and ideas as he will become the 45th President after being elected in the recent weeks. One of the risk that most immigrants are having I that they will be deported back to their native country, the vast majority of the immigrants are Mexican, and this are the most affected people due to Trump’s important idea to build a wall. According to Emily Stewart from The Street, she has expressed the folloing:
Every year, millions of immigrants come into the United States. Generally, the United States policies are complex but the topic of immigration in the country is far more complicated to understand. Currently, the topic is extremely controversial yet the government has been trying to avoid addressing it for quite a while now. Nevertheless, it is very rare for a candidate to make immigration policy part of his platform but in the 2016 presidential election Donald Trump even made it part of his campaign which caused world-wide controversy. Trump claimed that he would “make America great again” and create a high security wall along the border between Mexico and the United States. Nevertheless, any decision taken by the government will affect everyone in the country, whether in a positive or negative manner, as “an estimated 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants were living in the United States in January 2012 compared to 11.5 million in January 2011.” The numbers keep increasing every day
President Trump's candidacy starts out with deportation of illegal immigrants. His action to take away rights from people coming into the country, strikes up a debatable subject. An estimation of twelve million illegal immigrants live in the United States. The article from Migration Policy Institute says, “past decade saw an average of 500,000 illegal entrants per year” (MPI). The entrants of immigrants per year shows a large number that is growing day by day. Most illegal immigrants are composed of Mexicans. Immigration levels are rising due to security problems. The goal of deporting and immigration is to secure borders. Problems occur when random people come into the country, without knowing what their background and what their true purposes
In the past months while the presidential debate has been going on one of the bigger topics has been Trump talking about putting a wall up and deporting anyone of a foreigner race. On September 1 2016 a news article was released on the Washington Post called “More than 6 million immigrants could be deported under ¬latest Trump plan” by Jose A. DelReal. Jose covers a recent political issue about deportation made by Trump.
In his acceptance speech, Donald Trump mentioned his opinion on immigrants. He said,“They are being released by the tens of thousands into our communities with no regard for the impact on public safety or resources… We are going to build a great border wall to stop illegal immigration, to stop the gangs and the violence, and to stop the drugs from pouring into our communities.” However, this is not true.
‘No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark.’ Imagine stepping outside your home, you see fighting, war and chaos. You are stuck between a rock and a hard place, to stay and be killed or to leave and probably be killed. You take your wife and your children and leave. How would you feel? Sadly, this is the reality for many families. Many of them are not accepted as immigrants and must flee the country. Many don’t make it.
The first immigrants that the United States welcomed, were the Europeans and the Native Americans. Throughout the years, Asians and Hispanics have been added to the list, alongside many others. An immigrant is someone whom comes to live permanently in a foreign country. For example, Puerto Ricans coming to the United States and plan on living there long-term. There are many factors that contribute to individuals fleeing their countries. Some come to seek political freedom and the freedom to practice their religion freely, others may seek an opportunity for a better life for both them as well as their children, many come for employment opportunities, education, family unification, and to escape the poverty and oppression. While some immigrants complete their citizenship legally, some stay in the United States illegally, and that is where the conflict began. Any individual that is not a citizen of the United States or entered the country without permission, is considered an alien. Many consider the terminology, an insult. There is a certain confliction as to whether illegal immigration is beneficial or harmful to the United States. Many of the public’s opinion is divided with some individuals strongly stating that it is the most important problem the United States is facing, and others saying that it does not pose any threat, but rather helps the country.
It is not easy for the immigrant to come into the United States and obtain legal citizenships. The world is a crazy place which has led to many foreigners coming into the United States illegally to escape religious prosecutions and war. Today, many Americans do not want immigrants to even enter the country because they believe that the illegal immigrants are terrorists, taking most of the jobs from the Americans, and increasing the crime rate.
