Hunting or the Hunted Hunters can be the hunters or hunted. We should not let the government control are our heritage and tell us that we are not good for the animals. Hunters are good for the environment is because we have a huge positive environmental impact; we pay for most of the conservation money and we have a big financial impact to small businesses and big businesses.
Most people who are against hunting say that it’s bad for the environment and we kill animals unnecessarily. The truth is, if hunters don't hunt any game, they(replace they with there) would be overflowing and plants would survive(for too long of a time) a long time. For example the feral pig, the fastest spreading invasive species in the U.S besides burmese python.(smithsonian) Wild pigs cause 1.5 billion dollars in damage to farmland and Texas

Also in 2011 we as hunters brought in 12 billion dollars in local and state tax revenues. Annually hunters spend about 1.6 billion on hunting gear, tags, licenses, and conservation permits. (nssf)
Finally the next reason we need to hunt is the financial benefit of small businesses and large ones a alike. The multiplier effect for the small businesses and large corporations was 86.9 million dollars(fish and wildlife). The 2.4 billion dollars of income tax generated by hunters could cover 100,000 troops.(fish and wildlife) Going back to my second paragraph on wild hogs and the damages for farmers each year the cost is usually 500 million a year.(fish and wildlife) Hunters spend an annually 650 million on their hunting dogs for food, hunting products, collars, and more.(fish and wildlife)
Those are the biggest reasons that hunting needs to still be able to be done. To protect our heritage. That's why I feel like we as hunters need to band together. Those were are reasons that we are the biggest reasons for conservation efforts, financial impact and the environmental impact. That's why we as hunters need to band
Hunting is a common activity all around the world, and if performed properly, can have many benefits to us and the rest of the planet. The art of hunting has been around since the beginning of time. Living off of the land used to be a necessity across the world, until the mass production of food came along. In America, people do not usually need to hunt to survive. However, the population of animal species needs to be controlled. Too many of one type of animal can cause a drastic change to any ecosystem. Food supplies decline quickly, leaving many animals without food. Hunting can help keep the population of a group of animals at a good number, making the lives of the other
In the early twentieth century, hunter-funded state and federal conservation programs rescued deer, elk, bears, turkeys and more from disappearing. Hunting benefits the environment and the economy due to the risk of overpopulation of animals, the taxes on hunting license and hunting equipment, jobs, along with the crops planted by hunters feeds the animals.
Making money has become a main goal for the government: some governments take an eager interest to know the price of a dead lion. “Big game hunters say they help support local
“Hunting is good for the environment because one it helps keep down on the deer herd and other animals that are hunted.”(Smith) ”When you hunt you help herds of animals from getting to over populated. When the deer herds are kept to a lower number there is less likely of a chance for diseases to start to get spread around in return killing off a lot of the deer herd. Hunting to keep down on the deer herd also helps prevent interbreeding. When there gets to be too many deer in one herd there is a good possibility that interbreeding can occur and then birth defects could occur as well as health problems. When deer herds are kept to a low number there is not as much of a chance for deer and vehicle crashes to happen. When there is smaller deer herds that are controlled by hunting the
The deer and elk population is growing at an alarming rate. According to Outdoor Life, the "Whitetail deer population grew from 29.8 million in 1994 to 32.7 million today." According to Garth Kidd, the solution to this overgrowth problem is hunting. If we were to get rid of hunting,
A reason I believe people can benefit from hunting is economics. According to the text, people can benefit from hunting that has to do with economics (lin 1). It doesn’t cost anything to hunt unless you have to buy a gun, bullets, or camouflage clothing. Hunting can benefit the economy. According to the text, Benefits of Hunting, North Carolina got $511,546,347 from people buying hunting related objects (lin 1). All the tax money earned from people who buy hunting supplies goes to the state to improve their towns.
Hunting has been a way of life for thousands of years. As long as humans have been on earth, they have been hunting to provide food for their families. For many decades now, hunting has started to cause conflict among people. One of the main issues that have cause conflict has been overharvesting. Overharvesting can also cause issues with habitat and may put a strain on the relationship between the predator and the prey. While there may be issues, there are also benefits of hunting. Hunting controls the population of certain species. Hunting is one of the long time traditional ways of controlling the population of animas such as the white tailed deer.
history of hunting reveals that hunters of today share many of the same motivations and methods as ancient hunters. While technology and accessories may be different that those used for hunting thousands of years ago, the ability to take down an animal is something to be celebrated. When you learn the history of hunting, you’ll gain greater appreciation for this old tradition. Hunting is an essential component of conservation and can be used in everyday life; it has been a part of American history from its earliest beginnings and once provided a necessary source of food. In the early 1900s, when many wildlife species were almost near extinction, hunters stepped forward and asked Congress to impose an excise tax on the sale of firearms and ammunition products to help fund wildlife conservation in the United States. Another act that came into effect was the Conservation Movement. The conservation movement covers the movement to preserve and protect America’s wildlife, the lands, and other natural resources. A lot of hunters hunt for one purpose and that is to feed their families. These hunters usually hunt during the specific seasons where they can harvest the animals that their families will eat. Hunting is also an effective form of management because it will remove a number of individual animals from a population and prevent them from reproducing. Reducing the population will reduce human/animal conflicts, such as car collisions, Lyme disease and landscaping damage.
In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen”("MARC FOLCO: Some hunting, fishing quotes to live by"). Hunters are the leading source for all conservation programs. Theodore Roosevelt was one of the most passionate hunters. People put down hunting like it’s a bad thing. Many hunters contribute billions of dollars the the economy. Hunting should not be banned because of the positive impacts it has on society.
Hunting is both beneficial and non beneficial. It may cause extinction of some species of animals ands it also helps regulate the over population of animals. Hunting can be seen both ways good or bad. Some people have different beliefs that hunting is inhuman or ruthless, and should be outlawed. Other people believe that it should be allowed and should be able to continue.
It's not only for us, the hunters, but for our children and theirs. Keeping hunting flowing through the generations to come and while that happens, it will enable all of the animals that breathe the same air as we live and die. Hunting is seen as a cruel thing, but those individuals haven't sat in the
Especially because those who are for hunting, believe that hunting is a time-honored tradition that should be conserved, not restricted by more laws (Bullen, n.d.). Hunters state that the sport is not truly about the act of killing, it is about being able to outsmart their prey, and track them (Bullen, n.d.). Also, they state that through hunting they are providing a service to their state or country, for they are paying the state each year for a hunting licenses, which the money is used to help out with habitat conservation (Bullen, n.d.). This being a major difference between those who hunt for sport and poachers, because poachers hunt illegally, usually in restricted areas and without a license, while those who hunt for sport have to purchase a license each year, which provides the land, where these hunters are allowed to hunt. Another way that they feel that they are contributing to nature is by lowering the number of animal populations that are overabundant, for they believe that it is more humane to die from hunting, that from diseases or starvation (Bullen,
My last reason is, since 1600 the percent of overhunting has increased 23% it is also the one of the top reasons for extinction. If people keep killing these animals, in 2000 years all species will be extinct because of over hunting. There are animals right now that are endangered or even critically endangered. Some are even vulnerable which means close to extinction.
Although hunting for animals played a crucial part in the human survival thousands of years ago, hunting today is nothing but a way to be entertained. Hunters these days don't hunt for their needs but their wants. “Hunting for sport, for trophies, and for food is a very popular enterprise around the world. For many people, shooting an animal and watching it fall is a satisfying, not horrific, experience” 8 Endangered Species Still Hunted June
Evidently, hunting’s effects on ecology are arguable, it could have a positive effect on ecology. But this argument that is manufactured by recreational hunters still fails to justify the fact they are still killing animals for the thrill, despite the fact that a degree of good may shed from it incidentally. When recreational hunters turn to the argument of how they assist conservation, their killing of creatures for fun truly undermines their supposed love for the planet. Simply, it’s the thought that counts.
