Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. We are in a world where abortion seems to be the right decision a teenager would choose, but do not know the consequences. Teen abortion should not be allowed because young girls do not understand abortion causes health risks and mental anxiety.
There has been a big number of teenagers having abortions. “About 91,000 out of 1.3 million abortions were performed on 18 year old girls and under” (Lee). Teenagers begin to live in that fear which makes them feel they have no choice, but to have an abortion.“Some minors, including those pregnant as a result of rape or incest, girls trapped in abusive homes or struggling to survive as runaways are unwilling to unable to communicate with their parents for compelling reasons”(Ballaro). Not all girls hid about abortion to their parents. “in some

Some teenage girls take some sort of pills called morning-pills. These pills disrupts the development of a fertilized egg. “Can have blockage, such as a blood clot cutting off the lung’s blood supply”(Newton). Having a blood clot in the lungs decreases the level of oxygen in the blood, but also damages other organs. It also develops heart attacks and or strokes. “Having infections, excessive bleeding embolism, ripping or perforation of uterus and endotoxic shock may occur” (Jacobs and Sprague). There are no safe practices and depending on how late of an abortion women have waited can be more of a painful procedure. “Teenagers and unmarried women suffer the most negative health of an unwanted pregnancy” (Anderson). Many unsafe abortions may lead to deaths of thousands of women, but could also cause actual health problems like cancer. “Abortion increases a women’s risks of developing breast cancer by 30 percent” (Rubin and Wagner). Other risks that may occur are kidney failure, risk of having a stroke, or having heart
Many individuals fail to understand the sheer magnitude of bloodshed, tribulation, and despair legalized abortion has initiated into the human experience – both in the United States and worldwide. Far more human lives have been violently ended by this immoral decision than any other war or genocide in history. It is one of the most controversial issues in today’s society. Abortion is the intentional decision to murder a human fetus by chemical, medical or surgical procedures. Those who support the rights of abortion argue that women should be able to decide what can be done to their bodies, yet the unborn baby inside a woman is a living being, and terminating that pregnancy is the equivalent of murder. These innocent children should not be held responsible for your mistakes. Don’t terminate pregnancy now, because you may not have children in the future at all.
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe it is 100% wrong and even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is; “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth.” These pro-life believers do not support the idea of abortion and believe it should be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know that if abortion were illegal they would still be performed, unfortunately by an uneducated staff. Over 70 thousand maternal deaths occur every year because of unsafe abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro-life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro-choice.
Abortion is one of the most talked about topics in teenage pregnancies. When researching abortion, you find many different view points and ideas to the situation. Some of the more obvious view points are those that are well known such as pro-life and Pro-Choice. Although people have abortions they don’t understand the side affects that come along with them.
The fact that it is not legalized in some states makes it hard for women and teenagers who would like to procure abortion to do so safely. This has led to severe consequences on the side of the women. It is estimated that unsafe abortion accounts for
Abortion has become a growing trend among the youth in the 20th century. About a quarter of all teenage pregnancies in the U.S. end in abortion. Teens make choice to have an abortion because of the worries about the baby distracting them from future goals and education. A teen considering an abortion influenced by her religious
In the average year, around 750,000 American teenagers become pregnant in a year. Of those, around 350,000 of them get abortions (Family Planning Plus, 2010). Without abortions, those 350,000 teenagers would have no choice and have to have the baby or they would try to abort the baby in their own way. If they were forced to try to take care of the baby on their own they could be put in financial stress. If they tried to abort the baby on their own they could hurt, or even kill themselves. Abortions allow teenagers to escape a reality that they are not ready for. They also prevent teenagers from hurting themselves in an attempt to get rid of the fetus themselves. Because abortions are legal, teenagers can get medical help and knowledge on how to move forward from a teen pregnancy.
24 percent of women having abortions are unmarried teenagers. Pregnancy can be a scary and extremely stressful time in a women?s life. To force a woman who is not ready for a child to go through with the birth is not the answer. Stress is not good for the fetus at all, and could lead to complications in the pregnancy, or even a miscarriage. People also seem to forget about a women?s mental health in these situations. A woman could be haunted for her lifetime of giving birth to an unborn child.
Teen abortion is a very very controversial subject in the US. Many people don't like to talk about it. The whole event deals with 3 points. These include responsibility, gender of the baby, and much more. These apply all around the world. Meaning that most of these don't apply to the US.
As demonstrated in the quote above, teenage mothers suffer drastically from abortion’s negative psychological effects. Teenagers are more susceptible to vulnerability in times of need. Getting pregnant at a young age would be a time of need, since they are not capable of raising and supporting a child alone. As demonstrated above, teenagers have peer pressure to abort a baby from parents or sexual partners. This pressure comes from the message that society conveys that says teenage pregnancy is unacceptable and frowned upon. The parents or sexual partner pushes for the abortion, unknowingly pushing these young girls into a life of mental pain. The vulnerability pushes these young girls to go through with the abortion, opening themselves up to a changed life that affects their mental state in a negative manner. The abortion puts them at risk to depression, suicidal thoughts and other psychological problems. Thus, abortion effects a teenage girl extremely negatively.
Pregnancies when they are not planned can be very difficult and scary and can be overwhelming for the parent. (Mark Hutten locker, 2007, pg.1) Although many women of different ages are getting abortions ages 18-19 account for the high number performed. (Mark Hutten locker, 2007, pg. 2) As stated by Mark Hutten locker (2007) many states have laws that make children notify their parent when pregnancy but do not need permission to go ahead and get the procedure. (pg. 3) Moreover teens who go ahead with the abortion are overwhelmed by ‘god’s judgement.’ (Mark Hutten locker, 2007, pg.4) The signified of this article is that the after product of abortion and the after affects are much more overwhelming than the pregnancy
Unsafe abortion among teenagers is one of the major concerns within the health care sector that needs to be addressed. Several stakeholders have recently shared their findings revealing that induce abortion accounts for a high proportion of deaths with many teenagers reporting the largest proportion of admission related to abortion complications in the US according to (UNFPA, 2010).
Abortion is a major controversy amongst teenagers; it is a huge issue in the society today. Abortion is the termination of pregnancy due to certain conditions. It can happen automatically due to a person’s health, but most of the time it is done intentionally, through medical or surgical procedures. Some teenagers want to have an abortion because they didn’t use proper protection while engaging in sexual intercourse and they are not ready to be parents, while others are forced to have an abortion due to lack of support from others, incest, rape, or health issues. That’s why they count for 30% of all abortions. Only nine countries legalize abortion in this world, including Canada after twenty weeks of pregnancy. In many other countries it is strictly prohibited, and can lead to severe consequences such as the death penalty for the murder of another human. It is taking the life of an innocent child, and demolishing their entire future, because of the decision the mother chose to take. By having an abortion as an adolescent, one suffers psychological emotional remorse, health risks, and having an abortion is morally wrong. I am against abortion because it is taking the right of another human, and is sometimes done for selfish reasons.
Only one percent of teenagers have an abortion because they may have been raped or they are not ready to have an child. They are also scared because they don’t want their family member to know that they have been sexually active. Other teens have an abortion because they won’t be able to buy anything for the baby, or something might have happened to the the baby father. If you have an abortion there might be a chance that if the teen decides to have a child later on, the teen might have a miscarriage. Abortion is a traumatizing, serious, and emotional performance that teens choose to do.
Abortion is the ending of pregnancy before the fetus can live independently outside the mothers womb. Pregnant mothers who use abortion, use abortion as an option because they have the fear that their family will judge them by their mistakes. () 50% of U.S. women having abortions are younger than 25. Women between the age of 20-24 have 33% of all U.S abortions. There are 17% of teenagers having abortions. Abortion to a minor is easier to persuade to, because a minor has no idea what will happen. They have their whole life ahead of them and their future my just be starting. Along with minors, adults use abortions as an early choice. Girls who become pregnant use abortion as an easy way out. The different types of abortion all lead to
Abortion is a legal option for women who decide that a pregnancy is not in their best interest at the moment. For women ages fifteen to forty-four, the states that offer sex education, and in which abortions are more widely accepted, have higher abortion rates than states that do not offer accurate sex education. However, they also have lower teen birth rates ("Rate of Legal Abortions”). The terminated pregnancy avoids the many negative consequences of having a child at a young age. In most states, abortions for minors require parental consent, which makes it difficult for young adults to obtain an abortion because she must consult her parents. Her parents could choose to not give consent thus putting their daughter in a difficult situation. She could choose to have the child, which could lead to a life of poverty or fight her parents through the judicial system. If she chooses to fight her parents, it will put a strain on her emotional well-being because her parents may become angry that she went against their ruling. There are many ramifications to becoming a teenage mother so it is important to give women the opportunity to make her own choice about what is best for her.
