Myers Briggs personality test: The personality of an INTP Abstract An introverted intuitive thinker otherwise known as an INTP personality type is who I am. The research I have conducted explains the way I grow and think as a human being. It will give reason to my nonsocial habits and my tendencies to focus in on problems. This research not only gives understanding to the basic of my personality traits but it demonstrated my strengths and weaknesses as well. INTPs are very logical people and can do great things. As thinkers INTPs look at wide variety of outcomes in a situation. Clarity is essential to how situations are handled. My research gave a look on how I perceive the world. My ideas sometime don’t fit into reality. Perception, …show more content…
Living primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. Seeking clarity in everything, therefore driven to build knowledge. Intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions is highly valued. The natural drive to turn theories into concrete understanding may turn into a feeling of personal responsibility to solve theoretical problems, and help society move towards a higher understanding (Portrait of an INTP. 2012.). “INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them (Butt, J. 2012).” Careers for an INTP INTPs have a special gift with generating and analyzing theories and possibilities to prove or disprove them. They have a great deal of insight and are creative thinkers, which allow them to quickly grasp complex abstract thoughts. They also have exceptional logical and rational reasoning skills, which allow them to thoroughly analyze theories to discover the Truth about them. INTPs will be happiest in careers which allow them a great deal of autonomy in which they can work primarily alone on developing and analyzing complex theories and
Persons with an opposite profile to those of ENTJ are the ISFPs . That is Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving. These personality types like my friend Jasper are very much in touch with reality and are less involved in fantasy. They are quiet, friendly, sensitive and kind. (Briggs n.d). A major difference in class for a Person like Jasper in comparison to ENTJ character types is that, while the ENTJs enjoy learning and continuously explore new things the ISFPs get easily bored are often likely to drop out of school. They do well mostly in experimental learning as opposed to theory. While the ENTJ is outgoing and likes solving conflict through debate, the ISFP often walks away from conflict and disagreements. At work the ISFP can be a gel
With my personality type being ISFP, I have learned that I am able to collect a large amount of information at one and that I am able to think before I speak. I would strongly agree with this personality type. I put other people’s feelings before my own. Another thing I have learned is that I should find a job where I am able to work with people and find a job were I will be able to make good use of my ability of being able to understand facts. My possible strengths would be to make being feel comfortable and valued.
My results from the Myers-Biggs personality assessment letters “ISTP”. The letters represents a dominant introverted thinker. I agree that analyzing, categorizing and evaluating is part of my personality. I definitely think that this assessment is pretty accurate to most of situations I’ve encounter, especially in relationships. In my relationships I have been told, more than once that I analyze things way too much and get caught up on my own feelings instead of relaxing. I just feel like every situation is a mystery and in my mind I try to solve
ENTPs may have multiple strengths, but they also have some weaknesses to go with those strengths. For the strengths, there are knowledgeable, knowledgeable means that you are smart and well formed. ENTPs most likely never ignore an opportunity to learn something new. Quick thinkers, meaning making decisions fast or able to think quickly. ENTPs have incredible minds and are able to move to a different idea without any trouble also are able to prove their point. Original, meaning normal the same from the start to the end. ENTPs personally is that they are able to get rid of old ideas and make new ones from their knowledgeable personally with little information. With that little information, they have the
On the other hand, they do tend to be scrupulous and even-handed about recognizing the individual contributions that have gone into a project, and have a gift for seizing opportunities which others might not even notice. In the broadest terms, what INTJs "do" tends to be what they "know". Typical INTJ career choices are in the sciences and engineering, but they can be found wherever a combination of intellect and incisiveness are required (e.g., law, some areas of academia). INTJs can rise to management positions when they are willing to invest time in marketing their abilities as well as enhancing them, and (whether for the sake of ambition or the desire for privacy) many also find it useful to learn to simulate some degree of surface conformism in order to mask their inherent unconventionality. Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ 's Achilles heel. While they are capable of caring deeply for others (usually a select few), and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead them in interpersonal situations. This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, they tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation (which most types consider
Throughout my life I’ve taken the Myers-Briggs personality test several times and I have always bounced back and forth between two results - intp and intj. In my most recent try at the quiz I once again received intj as my result, which is a fairly accurate depiction of my personality. I’m very introverted for one and am much more reliant on logic than feelings. Since I’ve taken the test before I didn’t really learn anything particular pertaining to my own personality, but I did learn that Stephen Hawking is also an intj. My writing as suggested by the document provided with the assignment is often strong when it comes to analysing but my creativity needs to be reigned in so that the focus of the essay will be on the appropriate topic and
The dominant function of the INTJ personality type is introverted intuition. This has played a crucial role in my (albeit rather short) professional life. Ever since I was a toddler, I wanted to become a veterinarian. All of my actions were carried out primarily with this goal in mind, to the point where it was obsessive. I never considered taking any other career path.
INTJs are very strategic and smart, their self-confidence is very high and they are like a Jack-of-All-Trades. They don’t believe in spirits or spiritual powers, so you may or may not like them, even then, they aren’t very good when romance is involved. INTJs are very loyal, but they are independent, they can be arrogant and judgemental at times. Along with being open minded, INTJs are also very quick when it comes to quick thinking, and organizing. They have very high College GPA and they have a high income with their jobs, they are very reserved and can be serious at times, but they are very systematic. They have lots of logical thought and hunger for more knowledge, but they don’t like company and have interest for self-improvement. INTJs
Inevitably, I have learned many personal skills and people skills while growing up. Although I have always been aware of my various personal skills, I have never actually taken any assessments to gauge my personality, interests, and values before taking this class. After taking this class, I have learned a lot about myself and the various career paths available to me. From the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test, I scored as an INTP personality type. As this personality type, it states that I am a logical person who is quiet, contained and flexible. Moreover, it states that I am skeptical, sometimes critical, and always analytical. Although I do agree with some of the information it states, I feel that I identify more with the ENTP personality type.
This is the intelligence that allows one to be able to detect, deduct, and think through patterns, numbers, and rational thought. People with high intelligence in this area are able to work with symbols, numbers, as well as be able to reasonably work through situations with facts well. An example for this intelligence is the ability to deduce probable causes for a malfunctioning technological unit through the process of abstraction unlikely causes to lead to a likely resultant.
People with INTJ personalities are very curious and open minded, always looking for new ideas and information to learn. They are also very creative and imaginative in the art of strategic thinking, making them capable of planning actions for all scenarios. When it comes to the things they know they have high self-confidence in it. They trust their rationalism more than anyone else and whenever they talk about something they know they are always right even if they are correcting themselves. This makes them independent and decisive, they stand by what they say even if something else is popular compared to their idea, making authority figures banal to them. They are also able to stay calm and detached in an argument but will be swayed by those who do the same.
I am an INTPs or Introverted Intuition Thinking Perceiving. The careers associated with INTPs which I like are Computer Programmer and Engineer. INTPs prefer to observe and understand rather than participate and work which I can relate to. They can get really defensive if their values are dismissed which I also happen to do except I do let some things slide. Another similarity is that we don’t like to try new things and would rather get proficiency and move on than achieve mastery. It says that “if something has not moved and is of little of use it will often disappear in the mind of the INTP.” I am very forgetful of things I do not use on a daily basis like people’s names. If I don’t often talk to someone and never formally meet, than I won’t
I am an INTP and I have a lot of strengths. INTPs view the world as a massive machine and how all of its parts are related. Very accepting of different ideas, as long as they are supported by facts and logic. When a new idea interests an INTP, they get very enthusiastic – we are a shy personality type, but if somebody else shares an interest, we get eager to debate about it. We believe that the truth is the most crucial component and INTPs trust that to be welcomed and shared.
Some of the weaknesses of INTJ personality are being arrogant; judgmental; overly analytical; and dislike highly structured environments. I do not see myself as arrogant, although, I have a great confidence with respect to my understanding on an issue, especially when I have
The Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, and Perceiving (ISTP) personality type is known as the "mechanics" or the "virtuosos"; they are quiet, analytical, and tolerant individuals that tend to use logic and experience to solve problems. They value efficiency and spend their lives analyzing what makes things work and use that knowledge to calmly and rationally when approaching a task. They can be seen as aloof and callous due to their difficulty communicating and tend to offend others with their humor. The ISTP is a thrill seeking action oriented person who tends to be good under pressure but has difficulties in social situations.
