My parents always encouraged my siblings and I that we were capable of doing anything that we set our minds to. It didn’t matter where or what we wanted to do; all that mattered was if we had the passion to do it and succeed. From that, I was always set on becoming a doctor. Whenever an individual is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the individual and the family members often wonder what the future holds for them, and the diagnosed individual. Although there is no statistical evidence on the life expectancy for the community of people with ASD, most premature deaths that do occur are related to the lack of care in an institution, infection, and/or poor medical supervision (Van Hecke, 2010). Premature deaths can also be linked to suicide by individuals in the ASD community, often those with a less severe version of the disorder. My parents have always told me that I was smart enough to do whatever I want, but I think that there is a huge difference between ability and ambition. As a little girl in elementary school, my dad encouraged me to consider becoming a lawyer or a doctor when I was older. Despite my aptitude for music, performing, and the arts, my parents noticed in me a fiery and driven disposition since I first learned to speak. It was reasonable that my parents would want the best for me. My dad was an immigrant from Vietnam who worked his way to becoming an anesthesiologist. My mother studied her way out of poverty, becoming a pediatric dentist. Since I was old enough to understand their stories, I have always adored how far my parents have come with what

My parents think of themselves as primarily self-sufficient. Because of this, we live on the peak of a hill in the middle of nowhere, far away from the hustle and bustle of our old home in the city. Although this is their ideal life, they realized that it may prevent me from expanding my own horizons. They have always encouraged me to follow my interests, even when it meant moving away from home at sixteen to go to college. Throughout my entire childhood, they have done everything in their power to ensure that I am prepared for the future. I believe that my parents have crafted me into a well-rounded individual by proving to me that any person can define their own version of success.

You know I felt very supported along the way by my parents. They never directed me on any certain path, but they talked to me about my goals and aspirations, and helped me with my confidence level and thinking that I could do anything in this world.

I think an accomplishment of mine would be winning my 5th grade talent show. I entered it thinking i couldn't sing but i when i got on stage i did really well i loved the feeling and i found out i could sing that day. Ever since that day i have been singing and i found a new love for it. It has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people. I have made most of my friends through choir and they are really great people my life was better with singing and choir. I have gone a long ways with my singing. My directors have taught me so much and bc of it i have won awards and I have been to many concerts and competitions . it has even helped me get over my stage fright and fear of talking to crowds that's how i accomplished something and

The day that I could apply for my driver’s license was the day that I feel I commenced the transition into adulthood. It was when I could go where I pleased, when I pleased. It was the day that I had my first taste of real freedom and independence.

The transition to adulthood always seemed to be some momentous or celebratory event; something everyone should be able to look forward to. Oftentimes though, reality is considerably different than what we perceive. I matured into an adult far more as a 15-year-old in the second semester of my freshman year.

Another thing that made me who I am today is being more determined to graduate with my high school diploma and my Associates Degree in Arts. I have a big goal, and my big goal is to graduate and get involved in a career that I am passionate about that also helps stable my financial life; so that I would give what my parents gave me. Every single day, both my father and mother would tell me to do good in school so I won’t have to suffer as much as they both did when they came to America. They both want me to become successful, and have a better life than them. These words that comes from their mouth is very deep and inspiring to the point that it made me realize that I should start thinking ahead, since I am getting older each year and is closer

I have always grown up hearing that my parents never want us to follow in their path. My dad has had to work two jobs to make ends meet. Growing up watching him work so hard I gained his strong work ethic. His strong work ethic is showed me to never give up in my faith.

My parents have always taught me to follow my dreams and to fight for what makes me feel happy and accomplished.

Being a young adult comes with many stresses and obstacles. Young adults are dealing with separation from their parents, finding a place within society, considering career opportunities, money management, and ultimately, becoming capable of intimacy with another human being. Why do people in this stage of life have such a significant want and need to acquire a life-long partner in such short time? Young adults of all sexualities form many intimate, loving relationships through the course of adolescence to adulthood but going deeper into the situation, how is it one finds their life partner?

Everything I have grown up to be has been the product of what my parents have taught me and the experiences I have gone through. My parents have taught me to be a respectful, caring, and an independent person. Above all else, they want me to be a good moral man who can achieve a better future for myself and my family. Although my parents never completed most of their own high school educations, they understand the importance of a solid education and encourage me to pursue a variety interests and ideas. Throughout my whole life, my family has always been my number one fan. They are the ones that push me to be the very best that I can be. My mother, in particular, is the one person who has instilled in me the virtue of hard work. I can remember that even back when I was five years old, in kindergarten, my mother would sit down with me for countless hours teaching me how to read, do simple math, and help me with any other homework I had. She found extraordinary ways to force me to work hard every single day. For example, if I got an assignment that was due in a week, my mom would make me finish it that very same day and put me to work on some other project throughout the remaining week.
