Being a student is not always easy. Most of the time students think they may succeed by an easy instructor or simply choosing an easy course just to get a good grade. I always lived with the mind set of overcoming my challenges, whatever it may take, easy or hard, I have to try and succeed. Going into depth about being a student and discussing the following: demonstration of my attitude and the environment of the classroom, attendance and punctuality, and supporting a positive learning environment. I personally enjoy school and I prefer being in a classroom environment versus an online course. I have developed a strong desire a couple of years ago towards education and children. Any educational class truly grabs my attention to learn more about how to teach children and how to be a successful teacher in the future. I participate in a classroom setting by answering the questions asked and by asking questions about assignments. I have a positive attitude with my surrounding classmates and professors. I have a personality that is laid back. What I mean by laid back is that I am quiet and shy until I get to know another person very well where I can …show more content…
I support my classmates if they are struggling and need assistance with an assignment that I have already completed. If an issue were to come up with a classmate, I would try to work something out that satisfies both of us, if this does not work, I would ask advice from my instructor to help resolve the issue. Overall, the impact I can have on the personality or climate of the class is positive, because I always like learning and exploring new subjects and applying them to real life situations. The steps I can take to have a positive impact is to communicate with the professor about any questions, communicate and support classmates with through the discussion forum, and always keep up with all the assignments in order to complete the assignments on
When it comes to education, my relationship with it has been positive, for the most part. I believe that school and education are not one in the same. Although I do like to learn through knowledge and experience, I also like school for giving me a sort of work ethic. The teachers I liked the most were the ones who I could tell were
As I grew older, I learned about the difficulties students face while trying to get the education they deserve. I
Students are often told that the path to success tends to be a lonely one because only they can get themselves there. For the most part that is true, they must be self-motivated and passionate about their future, but along the way they get to meet special people that want to see them to accomplish their goals. From an early age the relationship built between students and teachers has molded and impacted the student’s life. The relationship they have with a teacher can define the attitude that student has with the subject being taught. A lot of emphasis is put on students when they fail a course and they question their effort. Although, the root of the problem is not always the student, but the method the instructor is using to teach the student.
I'm cooperative with teachers and students. When in class In tend to avoid bickering and I get along with classmates. It's easy to get along with me, at first i'm shy but I do start talking after meeting them. After knowing them for a while I become friends with half of them which is fun because I get to meet people I haven't before.
Literature suggests that positive learning environments are built on student – teacher relationships and that these relationships provide the critical foundations upon which to support positive learning. As a mathematics tutor who recently completed an honours thesis based on student understanding, I stand in full agreeance of the literature, before I can adequately tutor a struggling student I need to understand how that student learns. This understanding of student learning is best gained through building a positive relationship with the student and as stated by Skemp (1976) ‘talking with the student, is undoubtedly the best way to assess which mental processes were used’. I believe students must feel that their learning is important, be
I think that you should know that I am pretty good at school. I like to play sports. I play baseball, basketball, and tennis. I like to hunt and do other activities like that also in my free time. I like lunch and PE. I mainly like PE because we can do whatever we want to prepare for the sport we want to play. That’s why I like it because I can work on baseball things. I guess I would say I am a pretty good writer, I say this because that is what Mr. Harper told me that last year. Vocab is kind of but not really my thing, it just depends on if I study or not. I also enjoy playing golf in my free time. I usually go with my dad. I have two siblings, one brother and one sister. My brothers name is Evan he is in the sixth grade. My
and I am going to be a junior this school year. I have three siblings and a pet turtle. My favorite color is blue and my favorite person is Beyoncé. My last science teacher was Mrs. Conyers and I took Chemistry. I have taken Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science, and Biology (all honors). I'm not sure what science class I will be taking next year maybe Physics. I love listening to music, baking/cooking, spending time with familty and friends, volunteering, making arts & crafts, trying new foods, and shopping! I do not currently hold a job position but I want to get one soon. My weaknesess include not being able to learn a new topic through labs, group work, and I have no strengths. My most effiective way to prepare for a test is to not study the day before, but to take the time to study, looking through notes, watching lectures, playing kahoot & quizzez, and quizlet.
Starting preschool with other kids, I realized that I enjoyed being around other people. I enjoyed team work or group activities that we did in class. I enjoyed learning new things and applying them to my everyday life. This is something that I would continue to like all throughout my schooling career thus far.
Most of my direct experience working with curriculum is as an public elementary school teacher. I prided myself for many years in aligning the state curriculum frameworks and objectives with the instruction going on in my classroom, and received praise from administrators for sticking to the “playbook”. As time went on, though, I realized that my mixed ability classes were simply not performing up to my personal expectations. I began to create flexible groups for math and language arts, and differentiate instruction based on group needs and student interests. I saw significant improvements in student engagement, behavior and overall achievement.
I thought your article was interesting. I agree creating a positive learning environment is beneficial for all students. I think if teachers do not create a positive learning environment then students’ are not learning at their best ability. I think building a strong relationship with students along with a creating a positive environment can help students succeed.
I believe I am a goal orientated student who work hard in order to achieve excellent results in everything I do be it in terms of education, volunteering, and CCA. I am highly motivated to learn something new and very eager to upgrade my knowledge and skills. I hope with the knowledge and skills that I continuously learn, I will be able to use it in the near future. In addition, I am able to work under pressure and organize my time well. I also have a very strong sense of commitment, where I can work initiatively on my own or in the groups.
When I was younger, I never really liked school. It was too long and boring for my liking. When I came to the middle school, that all changed. I took the media class and soon I wanted to come to school more just to go to that class. I was interested in technology and media is very entertaining. Kids in school like media class because you get to interview people, learn about editing, and work with others.
I have always enjoyed school. I enjoy learning new topics as well as helping others understand those topics. I want to teach children to take an interest in school even if it is in only one subject area. By getting them interested I hope to give them the reason they need to get up every morning and put an effort into what they do. The more a student puts into school, the more they will get out of it.
The first word I tested for was being extroverted, this means that I am easy to approach, social and that I like going to parties. I knew this was true, because I am really easy to approach. People come up to me all the time, and they just talk to me about anything they want. Also, I am not to intimidating. I always walk around with a big smile on my face or at least I try to as much as possible. Another thing is that I am really sociable. When people see me out, I am always the first one to go up and say, “What’s up?” being in the center of the room talking to everyone I believe really brightens up peoples day. Also, I love being in groups or going to parties, because I am a peoples person. Other people and I usually get along good, however sometimes I may talk too much at points. However, sometimes I like to do my own thing. Listening to music and riding around in my truck are something things I like to do by myself, because it relaxes me.
Parents need to be informed and know what is occurring in their children’s schools. There should be no surprises. I would want to conduct pre and post surveys to determine how parents want communication and how we can better serve their needs.
