I am a motivated finance and management professional that is eager to acquire additional knowledge and experience. My self-determination and fortitude has made me an asset to my organization. I was born the fourth of December 1991 in Cranbrook British Columbia. I lived there for 18 years. Before joining the military I worked as a fry cook at a Burger King for three years and held part time jobs working for the College of the Rockies summer camp programs during the summer. My parents are currently living together in Cranbrook BC. My father works outside the province testing railway tracks for two months at a time, then returns home for two to three weeks. My mother acts as the main contact point of the family, she works as a financial clerk. I have a 22 year old sister who will be attending university in Calgary this September. I attended Mount Baker Secondary School in Cranbrook and graduated in 2009
During these first few months as a Deaf education major at USAO, I’ve begun to understand that an effective teacher must honor a multitude of commitments. The most fundamental of these are their commitment to being a knowledgeable lifelong learner, an ethical professional, as well as a fair and reflective facilitator. It is absolutely imperative that I master these professional dispositions before I graduate and enter my first year of teaching. Thankfully, I am already making progress towards this goal.
I am hard-working and enthusiastic and I offer a well-rounded skill set which has developed from a career in a rapidly growing organization. In my five years of experience in accounting, I have gained a specialists understanding of accounts payable, and have developed an understanding of month-end procedures, account reconciliations, and accounts receivable.
There are few certainties of what one will encounter during life. A common joke names two: death and
I am interested in pursuing a Ph.D. program in clinical psychology, specifically the discipline of psychopathology. This field of study is particularly appealing to me due to the profound knowledge it can bring to society. Understanding the causes of mental disorders, such as anxiety disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and many others, is crucial as well as developing treatments to help such individuals cope with their illnesses without the illnesses taking over their lives. I aspire to be a part of this process to help others and to help society progress, as a whole. Professionally, I am striving for a career as a researcher-practitioner. I also plan on going into academia, later on, as a professor of psychology. I feel the latter
I have learnt many concepts that could be implemented and helpful for my career. Some of those include reading articles, preparing for class in advance, understanding the components of IT infrastructure and operations and challenges involved in management and governance. How information systems and business intelligence and analytics supports in management decision making. After a few classes I was enthusiastic to experience the activities that are going to happen in the upcoming class.
With respect to working with others, I actively collaborated and maintained a positive professional relationship with team members, DARPA and service officials, and stakeholders. As part of the engagement, I collaborated with DARPA and service officials to organize data collection meetings and exchange information. Based on my interactions with these individuals, my team members said that I carried myself in a professional manner, which promoted positive collaboration between GAO and stakeholders. My actions facilitated positive meetings with stakeholders that provided the team with important information needed for the engagement. Furthermore, throughout the engagement I collaborated with team members to discuss findings from our case studies,
Yellow sheets, a menacing term that I once thought would never become a reality, were first presented to me in 2016 in AP Calculus AB and have remained a constant presence throughout my AP Calculus BC and Multivariable Calculus courses. These have a reputation for being the most challenging questions you will ever face in the math classroom during your four years of high school. The yellow sheets were the first form of assessment that I had to complete that focused on my understanding of a concept and not just the memorization of formulas. This was a menacing task for me because I had never seen anything quite like these questions. These problems not only tested my academic ability but my academic perseverance. These multi-step problems encouraged
I grew up in modest circumstances in a community rich with diversity. My father, a lifelong bus driver, is the person for whom I credit for my early obsession with public transportation. He and my mother earned their GEDs late in life, and I was the first person in my extended family to graduate from college.
My professional and personal goals I am pursuing is to become a human service health specialist. I desire to open and become owner operator of an adult day care empowerment center. Being able to help with the disabled society on daily living task, this is what motivates me in pursuing my degree to become a professional helper.
When I took my USC tour before my freshman year, I fell in love with the campus and became very interested in exploring all the opportunities presented by the ambassador. I fell in love with the beauty of the Horseshoe and greatly appreciated the generosity and politeness of the people I met. I want to inspire prospective students to fall in love with USC as I did. I would also like to explore this opportunity to develop as a person and make good friends in the process. It gives me great pride to tell people I attend the University of South Carolina and cheer on my team at every football game. When people ask me why I went to school so far away, I generally stick to three answers. The weather is great, the sports are amazing, and the people who comprise the University are fantastic.
Pursing a career as a medical doctor is an opportunity for me to mentor youth in underserved populations. As a child, I was raised in the low income, urban community of Roxbury, MA. Although not as notorious today, the neighborhood had garnered negative attention for its high crime rates. My mother emigrated from Haiti and raised me as a single parent. Due to our financial circumstance, Roxbury became our permanent residence. I have always felt there was something lacking in Roxbury in comparison to other towns I visited. My teenage years were largely spent in the suburban town of Stoneham where I attended high school. There was a literal difference in air quality and a psychology contrast in future prospects. While native students of
I volunteered in Pakistani Doctors Group Free Medical Camp, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, about a year and a half ago where I got the chance to help where I could and observe the dentists who I was working with. It was a great opportunity as I dealt with different kinds of patients with various diseases. I especially enjoyed treating children according to my capabilities. I was also a part of Multicultural and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) during High School which taught me that how much team effort is actually important as we all worked together, whether it be planning something or raising funds for something
I found the Business 101 class to be extremely informative. For me, the areas studied filled in several gaps. I learned in more detail about how businesses are formed, the U.S. economic system, the intricacies of the global market and marketing. I have run a business for multiple years, and although much of what we studied in class happens on a daily basis, there were definitely areas on which I needed to get a better handle on. Entrepreneurship and financial management are two areas that I will academically explore further, along with, professionally as further study in these two areas will bring me the added knowledge to run my business.
