I am a good candidate for the job as I am very responsible. I have volunteered at RAL since January of 2015. While it is fun it is also a large commitment. RAL expects me to show up on time and ready to work; which I always am. At RAL I help take care of the dogs. I give the dogs baths, help give the dogs medicine, and clean the kennels.

Over the course of a month, I dedicated time to volunteer with agencies that focus on providing safe and productive programs for children. Stop Child Abuse Now also known as SCAN, focuses on stopping/preventing child abuse in homes. This agency teams with many different agencies around Richmond to help parents and children coop and learn way to avoid situations of abuse. My duty for volunteering was teaming with Virginia Commonwealth University Health Services and making SCAN a known organization throughout Richmond community. VCU threw a wellness block party that included many different health services but also gave members of the community to learn and seek help with many different organizations that were there promoting their business or organization. I sat with one other girl and passed out flyers and contact information to those who were interested in the organizations. I explained to individuals what the program was about and the benefits of the program. I had one particular interaction with this young mother who explained she was in a situation where children were being abused and the authorities were notified and now she’s seeking counseling for her and the children involved. I and the other young lady volunteering with me were able to give her information on the program and also contact numbers to individuals that could help her situation. This young woman was very grateful and happy she found an organization that could assist her with her situation. From this

Being a volunteer at the UM Charles Regional Medical Center is a great way to give back your community and in a small way help society to become a better place. However, before you can become a full volunteer there are certain requirements that you will need to fulfil.
As a recent graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and a new Research Technician at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, becoming more familiar with different healthcare settings and helping others in doing so have always been of my interest. From my experience of volunteering as a piano teacher for inner-city children in Baltimore, I have learnt that even a small commitment and emotional support can make a big difference in the daily lives and the happiness of those in need. I have briefly familiarized myself to the hospital environment by shadowing physicians and conducting biomedical research but have yet to translate my volunteering experiences and the lessons learnt from them to the healthcare setting. I am a friendly, optimistic,

Explain why you are interested in the RA position and what skills you possess that make you a good candidate for the position.
Since I was little I have always wanted to do something with my life that involves helping others. Nursing had always had a strong appeal because of the ability to help others feel better and feel happy and healthy. However I could not stand seeing people in pain or the sight of blood. It reached the point of when I saw blood I would faint. I decided that in order to overcome this issue I needed to take action; so instead of continuing my regular internship I chose to face my fears. I chose to volunteer at Texas Children`s hospital so I would be able to help others in the future. When I got there my fears became a reality within the first week. On my first day I was working at the main desk and a lady walked in shaking. All of a sudden she
There are several reasons I feel I would be a quality candidate for this position. My past personal experience included being a military wife for 23 years. It allowed me to travel and experience a variety of cultures but more importantly it taught me how to adapt. Moving every few years has given me invaluable lifetime experience, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. As a volunteer Girl Scout leader/Service Unit Manager, I was a dedicated team player and learned to remain calm and gracious under pressure while dealing with large groups of children and adults. As a PTA president I collaborated with school staff, administration, and coordinated school events all requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
I will shortly be receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration on business. I will soon leave the world of studies and enter what is commonly referred to as "the real world." While this thought is someone frightening, especially given the current economic situation the nation faces, it is also exciting as well. I believe that crossing this threshold will change the way I view my role in the community, as well as the impact I will have on the community when I graduate. No longer will I see myself as a "child" in society, taking what society has to offer but never thinking of giving back. Instead, I am soon to become a fully fledged member of the community, with responsibilities to the community as a whole.
