Change happens when you contemplate something, prepare to change, take action, and then maintain that action. You are the one who makes it happen, because no one else can do those things for you if you are able minded. Those steps are the only route to change, so remember that next time you are sitting around wishing things could be different. The truth is that if you are wishing things were different, then you are contemplating it, so you just need to start preparing to take action.
10. On Climate Change
"What if they paid attention to climate change data as closely as polling data?" - Arianna Huffington
This quote was made in regard to the people campaigning for the 2016 presidential nomination. This is such a valid question that I

When you start to practice positive thinking, you start to send out requests to the universe and yourself to create a life in line with your positive thoughts.
12. How To Change One Person's World For The Better
"Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for that person." - Meyers Leonard
I find that almost every day I'm in the position to help someone. It may be a small thing, such as letting someone go in front of me in line or treating someone with respect. Or it may be a big thing, like giving someone a loan to help them pay off their bills, go to school, or take an important trip. There are many opportunities to make a difference in people's lives, and taking a hold of them is the best way you can change their world for the better.
I would take this a step further and say that this is a way to change the world. If you help one person, and they help someone else, and they help someone else, then you can see how far your act of service can go to change the world. But, let's not get that far ahead of ourselves. It can feel overwhelming. Instead, focus on helping one person's world change and you will find ways to make that

But, if you are unsure if things are going to work out or not on the path you are on, then stick with it for a while because that path may take you to where you wanted to go.
I had a friend who had gotten into a new job and he instantly thought it was the wrong choice. If his wife hadn't talked him into staying for a little longer, he probably would have quit and looked for another job. But, within a few months, he found out that the job was actually a perfect fit for him. He loved it. He loved the people he worked with. He loved the challenges and room for growth. And, he was very glad that he hadn't changed jobs when he wanted to.
Some things take time to come into focus. We don't always know why they are beneficial or if they are going to help us get to a goal, but if we change direction, we will never know! So, give things a try before you switch it out with something new. If you know that it is absolutely not for you, whether it is a job, a relationship, a diet, a home, a car, or whatever, then change it, but if you are not sure, give it some time.
20. Change Doesn't Always Happen
Feeling unsatisfied with your life or unhappy because you thought that at this point of your life you would be working in a career that you truly enjoyed is not the best feeling. But then again you can’t expect change when you’re not doing anything to change it. Sometime all you need is a that moment to stimulate the decision to make a change. Especially when you have that feeling in the back of your mind, you basically already made the decision to change. All you need is that moment of reassurance.
“I alone can not change the world, but I can cast a stone across water to create many ripples” (Mother Teresa) shows my willingness to make a change in life even if it means I have to take it step by step. Since the age when I began to speak and walk I would always find the way to help those in need. I watched my parents struggle to pay bills and always stressing out over if we had enough to eat. Helping others was what made me feel like I had a meaning in life. It was the littlest things that made me happy from watching a baby’s laugh to feeding the poor. In eighth grade Mrs.Perez the librarian along with myself helped to organize a group which gathered donations of clothes and canned
Introduction There are many times that have been brutal to you but you know it's time to help others and maybe yourself a little Or you could do things for yourself to help others. But there are only a few people who really truly would do things to help others.
There is a quote by Edward Everett Hale that the president of Randolph Community College, Robert Shackleford, states in every one of his speeches: “I am only one, but I am one. I can't do everything, but I can do something. The something I ought to do, I can do. And by the grace of God, I will.” This quote inspires me to make a change in my community. There is a way to help people in everything you do.
“One of the most beautiful things that I can do for you – or that any one of us can do for another – is to serve each other. It’s one of the most human things. It’s one of the most basic things. But you do that from the heart. You do that because you want to connect with somebody. ‘Service, not Servitude’ is something that should never be lost.” - Charlie Trotter (1. http://www.thetrotterproject.org/about)
By serving others, I improve not only their lives, but also mine. My church often reaches out to the community and serves them according to their needs. Whether the members of our community need food, shelter, clothes, or school supplies, we are happy to help. I find these service projects satisfying because I get to see my impact I have on society. The look of joy and relief on a person’s face as they receive the the first meal they’ve had in days, or gotten the help they need for their children is priceless and completely unforgettable.
Attention material/Credibility: No we’re not hungry, no we’re not worried. We’re just living life right now. Tomorrow? What is Tomorrow? If we for a second, glimpse into the future, we would see people suffering from the thoughtless decisions we are making right now. I don 't want to see my family starving or without water. If you don 't care about your self, then care for your family, or for your future family. They are the ones that will be affected by climate change.
Helping others is more than giving to them it is also being open to receiving in return. One of the most powerful things is mutual human interaction where both people gain something in return. Dr. Shriver
One thing that motivates people to change is fear. It could be any kind of fear, fear of someone, something. In the story “The Story of an Hour” , after her husband died Mrs. Mallard had to change her way of life and learn how to live a life where her husband isn’t there. ( The Story of an Hour). Slaves Feared that they would never become free but that fear instilled in them pushed them to stand up for themselves. Abraham Lincoln feared the U.S was dividing so he used that fear and waged war against fellow Americans so that change could occur. Change in general scares most people because of the unknown security and happiness on the other side but hope is what gets people to change.
If every person lent a hand to those in need, the world could become a more functional place. I’ve always known this, but it was solidified when I joined National Honor Society. In this club, we have the opportunity to help those around us through community service, and I am so grateful. Just last year the club had the privilege to go to Seattle and hand out food and other supplies that might help members of the homeless population. Moments like these remind me that everyone should strive to make a positive impact on the community. Leaving it better than you found
“Anywhere I see suffering, that is where I want to be, doing what I can,” Princess Diana so bravely pronounced when she was living. When we help others, we make a difference in their lives. If you leave an impact on someone, they can follow your footsteps in making a positive change in the world. Sometimes, it can be a domino effect, which can lead even more people to help others out.
To change the world is an impossible goal, but to change the world around you is something anyone can do, ultimately leading to a ripple and changing the world further. My involvements in my community, family and job have taught me how to be an asset to society, making a difference in other’s lives.
I have strove to make a difference wherever I can. As volunteer at Christian Assistance Ministry I witnessed the overworked conditions that the social workers and volunteers faced. Worn from these conditions these dedicated workers had no respite from their daily work of feeding, clothing and providing funds for the homeless
As people always say, “Hindsight is 20/20”, but if we would look forward in time and plan instead of making gut decisions, making better decisions and choices would definitely be easier to do. Robert Frost said it best in his poem, “The Road Not Taken”, when he said, “Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim” (Frost). This shows that when Frost got to a fork in the road, he sat down and evaluated both options before making a selection. He looked at the path on the left and then the path on the right so he would know exactly which choice to make and how that choice would work for him. This applies to everybody. When there is a big choice to be made, we need to evaluate every option and then look into the future to see how the options will benefit us later. If at the time a choice seems perfect, but there is no future benefit, why make that choice? If everybody has a common goal to be the best person that they can be and to be as successful as they can in life, the choice that is made needs to be a thirty day or thirty year decision, not a thirty second decision.
