To be honest, I am not really sure what profession I want to pursue after college. I would actually like to try many different things in hopes of finding a career that matters to me personally and that is why I am drawn to the idea of a liberal arts education. I am drawn to the schools peaceful surrounding community and its motivation to instill a sense of civic duty. When I visited Bates over the summer I was intrigued by the campus and the students that were still there. The serene nature of Maine was another one of the factors that interested me. I was in awe at how tightly connected the alumni was to the school and how all of the students were treated the same. The idea that no one will slip through the cracks and that the teachers and

I read with interest your job posting on the ASAE website for a PBL Program Manager.
Pursuing college has always been one of my biggest goals to achieve in life. After high school, I will higher my education by attending college. My ultimate goal will be to one day become a veterinarian. The love and compassion I have for animals plays a big role in choosing this course of study. Growing up on a ranch, I am exposed to animals such as horses, cows, dogs, chickens, and rabbits. Tending to the animals and keeping them in good health gives me the experience I need to see if the veterinarian study is fitting for myself. Furthermore, I plan to attend BYU-Idaho which offers a pre vet course that gives students who are seeking to become veterinarians the opportunity to intern at a vet
When I think of Bates, I picture two qualities that allow it to stand out from the pack of other highly-regarded liberal arts schools. Those qualities are a unique respect for it’s students and a close community that allows room for progression without denying diverse opinions. I have not had the privilege of visiting Bates, however, through extensive research, I feel I have a clear understanding of what Bates has to offer me. Besides being academically excellent, Bates succeeds in an area where a lot of schools fall short. Often, the students at such impressive schools are held back by the administration, either from a gap in generations or a more close-minded ideology. I have found that Bates respects their students, their wishes, and their opinions in a way that is almost unparalleled.
I was never specifically looking for a liberal arts college, until I visited Skidmore. I have always considered myself an artsy person, and decided I wanted an education that would put some emphasis on the arts. I feel as though a liberal arts education provides me with a well rounded education for what ever I want to do, and is not just some straight path trying to get me in and out as quickly as possible. Liberal arts also provides closer relationships not only with students who get involved in a variety of activities, but also with teachers who really want to see the students succeed. I love the idea of being able to take a huge variety of classes over different departments even if I don't want to major in them. Also, I am excited to be
When going into the 5th grade, I would drive by kipp every single day. Every time I would drive by, I would constantly tell my mom that I wanted to attend kipp my 5th grade year. When I got accepted into kipp, I was so excited. At the age of 10, I was being introduced to college. My very first homeroom was Brown University. Kipp pushed students to want to attend college to better their futures. I stayed in kipp from 5th-12th grade. Those years in kipp, we went on plenty of college tours so that the students could get a feeling of how college is. In high school when preparing for college, kipp offered so much help when it came down to ACT prep and also preparing for college interviews. Kipp offers plenty of support, they want to see their students shine. For instance, in my 12th
I am applying for college admission, educational opportunity programs, and special opportunities following high school graduation. I would appreciate your recommendation to include in my applications.
I was drawn to Bates, initially, because I knew I wanted to attend a small liberal arts college. A liberal arts education is very important to me. Being undecided as to my area of study, I know a liberal arts education, like a Bates education, will allow me to explore several interests, challenge myself, and grow. I also know that a liberal arts education will expose me to the humanities and the sciences, will continue to teach me how to think critically, and will help me develop lifelong skills.
I have seen others go back to college with two or more kids and make good grades. They were making something of themselves. I want to make something of my life. I do not want to have to worry with losing my job and finding another one without a degree. It is hard to find jobs without an education. I want to show my two young girls that it is important to get a higher education. I want them to know that going and getting a degree is very important in the world we live in this day and time. I want to show that it is possible to better yourself even with a family. My youngest has Down syndrome, and I feel it is important to show her that with obstacles you can still further your education. I know that I do not have the same obstacles she has, but I want to be an influence on her. I want to show that I had a few obstacles including two kids, a job, and a husband that
I have goals as to why I want to further my education. I have been accepted to the University of Central Florida, where I plan on attending. I would like to study religion, go on to graduate school, and become a college professor. I had plenty of mountains to climb to get to where I am now. However, a plethora of opportunities helped me to climb those mountains.
While the core of my application is strong, with high science and last 45 credit GPAs, over 7300 hours of patient care experience in diverse clinical settings and successful completion of a masters degree program, there are some areas which I must address. After graduating from high school, I did not know exactly what I wanted to do with my future, yet felt the need to complete a college degree. With an interest in music, I decided to pursue a degree in jazz studies. While in school, I discovered audio engineering, and started devoting much of my extracurricular time to this hobby in pursuit of building on my music background with more skill sets. I ended up devoting more of my time to audio engineering than to my studies, resulting in irregularities in my academic record. After graduating from music school, I recognized that music did not stimulate my drive for critical thinking or passion for scientific knowledge. I looked back to my days as an Eagle Scout, where he became a
Being back in school has me very excited. When I sat down with my boss to let him know about my decision to return to school he was also very excited. I have been apart of a management training program at my work for the past two years the program has opened doors for me to advance in my career with my company. I am in a position now that without completing my degree, I will not be able to continue to progress the way that I want to, so my boss was very supportive of my decision to pursue this journey with Bethel. My family especially my wife are backing me one hundred percent. My wife has been pushing me for a few years now to start back to school and finish out my degree because, she knows I am very goal oriented and that I want to keep climbing the corporate ladder. I have found in the last couple of weeks of class that it is easier to wait to do my class work after my wife and I get the kids in bed, that way I still get to spend quality time with my family after the work day, and can focus totally on school when the house is quiet. As far as friends go they too are supporting me. I have a couple of close friends that have obtained there degree with Bethel online and they have given me nothing but positive feedback.
Goal Statement Please provide a statement indicating why you want to pursue a graduate degree in your chosen field of study, what you hope to gain in the graduate program, and your career goals upon graduating. Include relevant academic and professional experience achieved in the past or expected in the future that support your goal. Narrative length should be approximately 1-2 pages, double-spaced. Since I can remember, my parents always encouraged academic success.
One of my academic goals is to get the best education possible at Allan Hancock College before I transfer. I will accomplish this by always paying attention to all my teachers and do all my work and most importantly make school my number one priority. Another academic goal that I have is to transfer to Cal Poly or Long Beach and obtain my Master’s degree in education. I also want to graduate with honor and with a 3.5 GPA or above. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher because I like helping people out and also I enjoy working with kids. I selected these goals because my economic background is not the great, most of the money that my family makes goes to the rent and daily expenses. We live in a small apartment and we are a family of five; we don’t usually go out and eat at restaurants only in special occasions.
In May of 2017 at University of Hawaii at Hilo, I will obtain a Bachelors in Psychology May of 2017. When I first attended college, I worked full-time, attended school full-time, and tried my best to have a social life. This last fall semester, I enrolled in five upper division courses, a 10-15 hour practicum per week, and worked 20 hours a week as a nanny. It was challenging to get everything done, but I still managed to get straight A’s. Completing my Bachelors has been a long journey, one that I started almost 10 years ago, but finally coming to an ending. To be successful in college you must make time management of utmost importance.
