Part of my job in the Army is conduct assessments (I'm a Civil Affairs Specialist), and we relied in a check list that includes prices for damages, for example there is a set price for a broken window, door, etc. Based on my past experiences this method worked most of the time, there were very few ocassions where individuals didn't agree with our estimates, but again, those were the guidelines set by the Army and we
My knowledge and experience from attending CSUF and working in the retail/customer service industry has allowed me to better understand the field of Marketing. During my employment at Fullerton College Writing and Tutoring Center, I took on multiple roles. Aside from being the front desk receptionist, where I managed scheduling appointments, I also tutored students on computer fundamentals (MS Office programs, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and emailing). I was responsible for creating flyers for its services and available workshops. I worked closely with the center’s coordinator in developing and posting flyers throughout the campus and on its website.
My life experience, coupled with my recent studies, gives me a perspective and skill set that is all encompassing in a setting that promotes and honors academic excellence. As a life-long learner, I am choosing to pursue my MSW to accentuate my professional expertise with clinical proficiency in order to serve the Latino Community, with a special interest on immigrant children, and develop emotional resilience that will last them a lifetime.
Growing up, my parents instilled the value of service in me. For this reason, I pursued a degree in Education in order to serve my community with the best skillset. However, it was until serving as an AmeriCorps member that I developed a more critical lens to what public service means. Before my term of service, I thought serving was just a matter of showing up and completing a task. While this is partially true, I learned that in order to maximize change, it is important to involve who we are serving. At times, we focus more on quantity rather than quality and end up doing a disservice to communities who need the most help. I want to serve with The Peace Corps to facilitate change and to empower communities through education.
I am a hard-working and enthusiastic individual with over five (1-10 years should be written in number format) years of practical hands on experience and am ready for my next adventure! I am currently looking for an opportunity to continue working within the industry and know my skills and experiences would be a good fit for the position and the Human Resources team overall.
As a business owner it is always challenging to ask or to trust someone new to come into the company and have them help you. My mission is to make this transition as smooth as possible through my strong analytical and communications skills and genuinely taking pride in my work.
With respect to working with others, I actively collaborated and maintained a positive professional relationship with team members, DARPA and service officials, and stakeholders. As part of the engagement, I collaborated with DARPA and service officials to organize data collection meetings and exchange information. Based on my interactions with these individuals, my team members said that I carried myself in a professional manner, which promoted positive collaboration between GAO and stakeholders. My actions facilitated positive meetings with stakeholders that provided the team with important information needed for the engagement. Furthermore, throughout the engagement I collaborated with team members to discuss findings from our case studies,
Personal statement My passion and goal is to work to firstly help others around me and to secondly spend my time bettering myself by improving my surroundings through community programmes and events, such as being a member of my schools charity committee and a member of ‘The Greenwich Young People’s Council’ to which I was a member for 2 years and took role in supporting and helping young people in my school, and local area by representing their views on a larger platform to aid the development of the area and help young people’s voices to be heard; therefore I believe I am a suitable candidate for this type of job. I have experience such as organising many charity event such as a ‘I AM MALALA’ inspired sleepover, which helped raise a substantial
I can see myself working in a structure of legal area. But, working 100 percent in the legal area does not really reflect my inner motivation. I am torn between two careers. First, it is true I like to be a social worker, helping people in their life give them joy. Second, I like to become an accountant would be a good choice for me. I enjoy working with numbers and specialties of analytical skills. The bookkeeping work in business or public, the days are often not similar and they are often full of surprises.
The first place I will look for potential jobs would be using job sites online. I believe that this is the quickest and most effective way to find job in your desired field.
When I first discovered the numerous service programs offered by the Civic House, such as the PennCorp, I immediately pictured myself at the University of Pennsylvania, participating in all the offered service opportunities. These volunteer projects promote civic engagement with fellow students and the surrounding community of Philadelphia. Service was an integral part of my high school years which helped me to develop my passion for social service. I grew wanting to use my various interests for service and academics in a charitable way. UPenn will allow me to utilize my experience and enthusiasm for service through volunteer projects and exposure to local social issues through these programs.
Civil services always interested me as it's a very honourable way to serve the country. When I was in my home country, my late grandfather who had an administrative role in the police services told me stories about how he met great people while doing his job. His stories inspired me and my late uncle, who aspired to become an Administrative Officer, motivated me to serve my country for as long as I can remember.
1. For most of my adulthood I have been trying to find out my purpose where do I fit and what career path is should take. I have been a Pharmacy Technician for fourteen years. For most of those years I felt as though I should be doing something other than what I am doing. My first impression of a social worker was that they only removed children from unsafe situations.
I enjoy collaborating with people and have over five years’ experience working with public service. My degree in psychology and an ongoing postgraduate degree in counselling psychology coupled with years of experience in non-profit organizations, working with families who suffered domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness and addiction to name a few will be an asset to Calgary police service.
I always received great satisfaction from helping others. I remember when I was younger, I would help my grandmother with chores that she could no longer do herself because back in 2007 she was diagnosed with cancer and she was getting to the point where she could not do much for herself. The older I got the more my grandmother would start to depend on me. I would help her cook, clean, and made sure she kept her doctor’s appointments scheduled on time. I can now see myself doing the same for my mother and father as they get older.
In our lives, we have to make important choices, and sometimes our choices determine our happiness or sadness. As a Filipino, our families tell us to do well in school and to not make bad choices because they want us to be successful and to have ethical morals. Growing up as a Catholic, I was taught to be obedient and respectful to my family which has shaped who I am today. Yet, I too made some mistakes, and I learned from the consequences. From my failures, I learned to not belittle myself, but to grow.
